This has been a 1 star rated experience post graduation. Simple requests from post graduation admins are ignored. Complaints are ignored. Student services are poor. All round negative experience post graduation.

Received the worst experience with Anjali Janagal, Julia Bagshaw, Shawana Ayaz, Safraz Valli! I have been emailing for CONFIRMATION of ONE thing since OCTOBER. Please ask me if I have received the confirmation yet! Think the 1 star will answer it for you.

Avoid at all costs ! Mostly for nursing and education ! disorganised BIASED to the core … choose a better one don’t waste your money and time here !

Stewards were very helpful and friendly, the mascot experience was also worth the money but the reason for only 3 stars were the photos taken by a supposed professional, they were no better than what we’d taken from a long distance, had to email to get them, sadly not worth having, hope in the future this changes as it is a once in a lifetime experience for most kids

Do not waste your time and money to study here! Management is disorganised, slow to respond, and offers no real support. Basic issues are ignored, communication is poor, and overall experience is VERY unprofessional. Academic staff who knows how to teach and care students' genuine learning would not be welcomed. Take your time and money elsewhere!

I was proud to be an alumnus of BCU (MSc Project Management, 2016). However, I am very disappointed with the support I received recently. I requested a replacement transcript (for WES verification) and paid the fee, but after more than two months—and repeated follow-ups with BLSS and FSC teams—there has been no clear response.
This process should be simple and straightforward, yet it has taken me over three months, causing serious delays. Alumni also deserve proper care and support, not only current students. I truly hope BCU improves its responsiveness and support for alumni in the future.

This interviewer Elizabeth for nursing degree is awful and not qualified. I can’t believe that she wasn’t professional to treat the candidates like that, she failed me even though I had fully trained and qualified in nursing.

The finance department at BCU needs a complete refurbishment. It is almost impossible for students to sort out there enquiries and issue related to finance and there is no physical office for students to be able to go and address to. The current model of emailing back and forth does not help and only impacts the mental state of the students who feel like they are just seen as cash cows by the uni. The university front line (reception & security) even agree that they can't do anything when students are restricted access because the finance department is set up in such a way that it is impossible to get hold of someone who can actually deal with the matter directly. I hope this is something that can be looked into and resolved swiftly.

My opinion:

This university is completely and utterly shit.

It is as though a turd was rolled in a field of turds that shunned it because even they recognised that it was too shitty.

Admin is rubbish.

Lecturers rarely reply, and cannot seem to understand coherent emails.

They will do what is best for them, not for you.

Do not go here unless you love wasting your time repeating yourself in emails, and arguing with brick walls.

DISGRACEFUL, an utter scam.
Was told to drop out due to bad mental health when I asked for support told I was too complicated and I may as well quit.
As for the actual lectures they are a complete waste of time reiterating content I have done at college level. Nothing is ever properly explained just slides that are read out and dragged out and then about 20 slides of content crammed into the last few minutes of the lectures. As for workshops/ seminars they expect chapters and chapters of books to be read for them to ask about 2 questions relating to this and then you are given “group” activities which are also a waste of time because no one wants to participate it is truly just awkward. No students in my class show motivation or a drive to be there which says a lot about the university, when a simple question is asked the whole class is silent. I think the way the content is delivered really needs to be changed as in college I was motivated and had passion to go in but now I just think what’s the point ? I feel it’s more beneficial to stay home and read the slides myself. Furthermore the grading here is terrible they don’t help students at all just say everything is incorrect and give no feedback. Would not recommend to anyone.

Deep rooted racism towards their nursing students. Corrupted staff who handpick students and try to destroy them as a co-effort from colleagues. Silence on racism factors when brought up. Pro vice-chancellor seemingly is the vice chancellor as she is white and the VC is black and due to racism, she seemingly is the voice and he has no voice. Discrimination at a high peak; Student Union is also corrupted as they work with the school against students despite their policies saying different. I would not advise you to join such evil university.

Very poor management of university. I have never heard of or felt discrimination in any other universities personally and through others but that has not been the case with BCU. Conveniently the management never and I mean never shares the deadline date for students to apply for placement and when enquired simply offers refund. They don't care about the future or the well being of students specially international students. University accommodations provide no safety and instead to some extent harrassment from security and accommodation management. I could go on and on. This university is the biggest scam.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Absolute rubbish. Waste of money. You pay 16000 for what ? First of all the admission process is super slow. It takes forever to get the cas letter. Secondly, they give addmission to hundreds of students in same batch but they literally don't have the classroom to accommodate them. Unfair grading, and clearly they do not understand the situation of international students. Would not recommend to anyone.

I found the whole process and the application process very dated, they did not have a lot to offer compared to other universities but was the most difficult With their offers. Very disappointing and I expected a higher quality of engagement and interaction on the day. But felt let down and was shown higher standards elsewhere.

unsupportive, and contradicting youll get a better experience from a college and they will also lie to cover mistakes dont waste your money or time....definitely dont give them the CHANCE you are literally a fee nothing more and they want that money..........

People who work for the Finance Dept are invisible.
You can ONLY get in contact with them via email.
I did masters in this Uni which was offered in 12, 16 or 18 months. One of with placement.
The fees for the course is the same price REGARDLESS DURATION.
I had Student Finance for 18 month course but on my application in this University I wrote 16 months by a small mistake.
The student finance which I received I had already paid the fees for the 1st semester. Someone in the finance dept (who actually don't have office in the Uni itself) blocked my entry to the University.

THESE PEOPLE STRICTLY CONTROL WHETHER THE FEES ARE PAID ARE NOT.

I contacted STUDENT Finance and they let me know that they are happy to release the fees of the second semester but the university was not sending them my proof of attendance to them.

Somehow I was able to get help from support services from University itself and a very understanding lady who works in wellbeing sector spoke to the finace dept directly and magically she made my entry granted once again. I had no idea what happened and then this lady told me what was the small silly mistake happened that the finance dept told her, the reason for not sending my attendance evidence to Student Finance.

I felt like she literally argued with them in regards to my problem. Then everything was back to normal.

I WAS VERY ANGRY AND UNKNOWN WHAT POLITICS THEY ARE PLAYING UP WITH THE STUDENTS.

I later found out that it was not just me but they have done this to many other students. They do not care about education but only money.

Wherever you in the world or whoever you are, if you want to work, study or send your family and friends here; just don't do it. The place is an absolute disgrace. The place is a scam; a hoax. I thought I experienced it and saw it all at the previous so called "University" I worked at - University College Birmingham. I thought Birmingham City University would be different and be better, but clearly I was mistaken, it turns out it was worse. Repeat mistakes are common here. Staff are outside regularly smoking. HR are absolutely useless. The entire IT network has gone down on multiple occasions. The IT set up is terrible and perhaps the worst of its kind, not just in the UK but perhaps in the world. The place goes through scapegoats and staff are not fit for purpose. ​I was bullied and picked and used as a scapegoat from day one. Made false accusations and when they could not prove anything, they made further false accusations on top. I feel like I was picked on because I was Asian and a Muslim. I was spoken to in a belittle manner and for no reason shouted at by managers and other staff. Also sworn at. The place has an extremely high turnover of staff. There are several other negative reviews regarding this place such as the ones written on glassdoor. I would not recommend to anyone to work or study here. Place is built on rumours; nepotism is common here too. There are staff who are fully aware of what goes on here but do not say anything and engage in the corruption, perhaps, in order to promote themselves or get their family and friends in. Given the opportunity your colleagues will back stab you and you will not even know. The staff engage in the bullying and corruption to either to attempt to promote themselves or they are worried the same might happen to them and therefore you cannot trust anyone.

Unfortunately, you will find staff who are inexperienced and have little or no knowledge regarding education. Management and HR are only concerned about how to make money for themselves and invest in other means.

I was denied annual leave for religious reasons and expected to work when others where allowed to go off. Special treatment is provided to others and you are expected to be treated and accepted as the scapegoat.

There is no respect, support of fairness shown. There was no communication from management or HR. Just hearsay. They will try to make you appear that you are in the wrong and provide you their own definition of what they want you to hear. You will be called into several meetings and be falsely accused of things based on random accusations. Micro management is loved here.

HR will go around and ask others to write witness statements against you based on lies. Also they will get witness statements from people who weren't even there. Your words will be twisted and your side of what really happened will not be taken into account.

Also don't give them ideas as they will take them from you and claim it for themselves. They will not acknowledge that you were the one who came up with them in any way. Blame culture is present with extremely rude managers.

I saw people quit after working just one day. I also head people didn't do a half a day and quit. There is no morale. Pay is low too. They will take advantage of your hard work and push more work on to you, whilst they will just be laid back. They will put you in front of HR and management and will attempt to make you admit made up false accusations. The staff will speak as if they are animals, perhaps worse than an animal. Especially HR, I do not think I have ever seen a HR department which is so terrible. The HR director used to work with the current VC at a different University.

Polices and procedures are not followed and made up along the way. They will follow it to suit themselves. They will say one rule is for you and you only. But they do not have to follow any of them. Disgusting and disgraceful.

The following happened to me, when I joined there;

-Verbal abuse inside and outside the University
-Physical abuse outside the University
- I was spat on and coughed on
-Someone called the Police on me whilst I was walking home from work for no reason, but the Police never turned up whilst I was waiting there
-A racist shouting out P@kI to me whilst I was being called into the first investigation meeting against me by their incompetent HR department and deputy director of IT
-Harassed and stopped by the West Midlands Police -Harassed by the West Midlands Ambulance Service -Nearly run over by a West Midlands Paramedic van and if I had not run across the road; I do not know what would have happened
-Attacked by a West Midlands Paramedic and as a result of the attack I have had a head injury and suffering memory loss

I attended the BCU Horology BA course from 2017 to 2019. I was very disappointed by the lack of and low quality of lectures and practical instruction.

The school of jewellery and its facilities were excellent, but the Horology lectures and practical lessons' standard was low.

A lot had been promised to me, but they betrayed my trust as very little was delivered.
