I was nervous buying an expensive bourbon from a place that I knew nothing about, except for on-line reviews. I had regular email updates from Barrel Mafia and received PVW 15 in about a week. Very satisfied.

barrelmafia.com indeed. The name says a lot... and they like to tell stories. When it suits them.

Well, we all have stories, don't we? Here's a story:

I put in an order for a bottle of 10-year Old Rip Van Winkle, got a discount and it seemed like a good price.

Got a confirmation email and a few days later a UPS tracking #. Checked the UPS # the day it came in, UPS hadn't received it. Okay, fine. Two days later checked it again, UPS had not received it. Sent an inquiry to barrelmafia, no response. Waited three more days and sent another inquiry and again, no response. I checked the website multiple times, no phone number for customer service. That was a red flag. Finally, after a week of waiting for UPS to acknowledge they received the package and barrelmafia to respond I sent a message to them saying cancel the order. And filed a "dispute the charge" with my credit card company.

Then surprise, surprise, I heard from the "Customer Service Team" at barrelmafia.com. They said they handed off the bottle to UPS and were "looking into it."

Right. Like I said, we all have stories. Well, now it's between my credit card company and barrelmafia, they can work it out. Whatever.

Caveat emptor, bourbon lovers, caveat emptor.

Received product within a week of order, great service, I’ll be waiting for my monthly shipment.

I was very impressed and happy with my purchase. First of all, I was able to purchase a bourbon I'd never find in my area. The price was very reasonable, it was well packaged, and I received it a lot quicker than I anticipated. Will definitely purchase from Barrel Mafia again!

I have ordered many things from internet shops and have never been more impressed with the service and quality of Barrel Mafias products and customer service. First the products they sell are top notch hard to find bottles where I live. Secondly my order was missing two bottles of three I ordered. I called the customer service number and the owner of the company answered the phone mind you this was a late night phone call, which I expected to talk to a answering service, but to my surprise it was a gentleman on the phone who handled my issue with such great care he sent the two bottles and a free bottle of the same bourbon overnighted to my house. That right there has made me a customer for life as everyone who reads this review will have a story of customer service that more or less nobody cares to make the situation right.
