Not happy by stopping through debit…

Not happy by stopping through debit card payment for Mark's and Spencer credit card from 22nd April 2026.
I been using for long time suddenly I have received email from marks and spencer banking apps.

Hi Aron, Sorry to hear your frustration. We continue to offer debit card through our automated phone service or speaking with an adviser. Our digital channels will offer Pay by Bank. If these options are not suitable, we also offer Direct Debit, or you can use your own bank's services (eg app, branch or phone) to send a payment direct to us. You can find the sort code, account number and reference you need to use on your statement. - Kim

Dodgy dealings

Quoted me an interest rate online, agreement came through and the APR was double what was quoted online. No mention anywhere on the email, I signed the agreement then noticed so got the loan cancelled. Absolute charlatans!!

Restoring my credit limit

You responded to my last message by requesting I contact your customer services. This I did and the person I spoke to told me I had to set up an app and then complete a form to get my credit limit reviewed.
So I have sent 3 letters which were unanswered and nobody wants to speak to me ! I am 72 do not use apps and just want a human with authority to speak to me. You have my contact details please use them.

Pleasant to deal with

It was very easy to check if I could be accepted for a credit card and also to apply for one. After a phone call with a pleasant person to check a few things acceptance was approved and the card was sent off quite quickly and have had an amazing experience through them

Barclaycard miles better

Ok so where do I start, the app is very unfriendly… no “real time” balance as with barclaycard. Pay above and beyond minimal payments and they still take the direct debit even when the app mentions £0. Earned M&S points for the first 2 months then nothing even when I am still spending on the card. Avoid at all costs very disappointing… backed by HSBC not at all in keeping with the M&S brand not at all impressed a few months in

Good idea

I needed to look at my finances and work out what was best for me, your offer of an interest free time to pay back my loan made a great deal of difference and empowered me to take control and gave me peace of mind. awful

had nothing but trouble with this bank card all the way through wont list what as I am trying to forget the experience. cancelled card and they are still sending me stuff. Have gone back to John Lewis much smoother operation
