Firstly I wish I could give the star scale a 0 !

Here’s a snippet of the unprofessional, intimidating and scamming behaviour of Stigma Car Rental/ Go Car Rental - hired through ACA Rentals. Thank you to these scammers for putting a real downer on the end of our holiday and causing us to have to drag all our luggage on a 15 minute walk on a busy road in 30 degree heat to the airport.

Disgusted isn’t even the word for it!! I knew the moment we got out of the car to drop it off, something dodgy was underway… I should have known it was a con artist company when they don’t even take their own pictures or videos of the car before handing it over to you on arrival- you have to do this yourself (which we did, including a 360 video of the car)… apparently that wasn’t good enough I should have filmed under the car!! (As “other customers do”).

The company tried to claim we had caused damage under the car as there was a “scratch”. It was rather convenient he said about this invisible scratch after we shut him down about all other dints and scratches on the car he tried to point out as damage (luckily we took our trusty videos and pictures… however it’s a real shame we didn’t do under the car!!)

We have been lucky (so far I think) as our £1000 deposit was refunded about 5 days into our 10 day holiday (no idea why but we aren’t complaining because if we hadn’t had this refunded - which must of been a mistake on their end considering we still had the car for another 5 days, we most likely would have lost this money!). We have also blocked our bank card and will be contacting the bank on arrival to the UK, we did not sign a single one of their fake damage contracts and walked off after 50 minutes of back and forth confrontation… which included who I believe is the manager threatening me with police and fines whilst I was recording for my safety!!

The damage contract he handed us was ridiculous, I feel bad for others who have probably signed this out of intimidation. Said document included an incident date and location…. Date being 6/07… this is how unlegitmate this company is because how would he know this date if we did suppodely cause the damage… why have they made up a random location and date, they would put this as unknown…. Randomly making details up and trying to force us to sign it just goes to show how ludicrous this all was! No way was I signing anything. When he was asked to provide us more terms and conditions to this damage contract he just kept referring to the booking voucher….

We hired our rental car through ACA rentals, we did our research and reviews all seemed good hence the booking…. We never thought we would be handed off to a professional scamming company. After this event I have now looked into the company Go Car rental / Stigma Rentals and it seems they are professional scam artists who run under several company names, even hiding behind larger companies. Please avoid at all costs! I am traumatised by this event, so upset that this was the way my holiday ended and that I paid money to a company who then tried to scam us! I will be contacting ACA and taking this further to raise awareness to what has gone on!

This company and all those involved within it should be ashamed of themselves! Never again will I book a rental car that is not hired through a large company operated in line with airlines!

PLEASE RAISE THE AWARENESS ABOUT THESE COMPANIES AND DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! IF YOU HAVE A BOOKING WITH ANY OF THE COMPANY NAMES I HAVE MENTIONED…. CANCEL IMMEDIATELY !

Una coppia di malandrini, il marito nella parete del capo, la moglie in quella della segretaria complice, due veri truffatori. Testimone innocente il figlioletto di 5 anni, costretto ad assistere all'edificante comportamento dei genitori malandrini. Affittiamo una macchina dall'1 al 15 di giugno 2025, doveva essere una golf polo ma all'ultimo momento la sostituiscono con una Seat, anzi, prima con una ma poi, mentre stiamo per partire dopo i controlli di rito, ce la cambiano con un'ulteriore macchina. Perchè? Costo per due settimane 650 euro, perchè noi siamo anziane ( 72 anni la guidatrice numero uno, 74 la numero due) quindi c'è una maggiorazione notevole dei costi, ci viene detto. Riconsegnamo la macchina con un giorno di anticipo, per non dover fare tutto di corsa il mattino dopo, e rischiare problemi con l'aereo. Salta fuori che sul paraurti posteriore c'è una macchia giallina di un centimetro e mezzo, probabilmente l' escremento di un uccello, infatti strofinandolo con un fazzoletto di carta intriso di acqua minerale quasi scompare. Ma Dimitri, il marito, inizia ad urlare come un ossesso in greco, ci viene addosso minaccioso, ci accusa di aver lasciato la macchina sporca (c'è un po' di sabbia sui tappetini e la polvere di 2 settimane sulla carrozzeria, nulla di più) ci da delle p... ( o forse s....? in greco è m....), ci spaventa a morte, tanto che ci rifugiamo nell'ufficio. Chiamiamo al telefono la polizia, intanto lui ci chiude dentro, finchè non sopraggiunge la moglie/segretaria che ci mostra un pezzettino di plastica ritrovato nel cassetto anteriore, accusandoci di aver rotto una delle cinture di sicurezza posteriori. Dice che il danno totale sono 665 euro!!! Noi non ne siamo assolutamente responsabili, le due amiche che viaggiavano dietro non hanno mai indossato la cintura di sicurezza, e la macchietta è praticamente scomparsa, basterebbe un qualsiasi detersivo per cancellarla, altro che ridipingere il paraurti! Infatti la polizia, che arriva dopo un'ora, non riscontra nessuna macchia se non dopo che Dimitri gliela indica. I poliziotti prendono i dati dei nostri documenti, ci dicono che non possono fare null'altro e se ne vanno. Noi quattro restiamo in balia del pazzo e della sua complice, che ci minacciano di denunciarci alla polizia aeroportuale che ci bloccherà alla partenza dell'aereo il giorno dopo. Non sappiamo cosa fare, dopo 4 ore siamo sfinite, paghiamo 400 euro e ce ne possiamo andare. In 26 anni di viaggi in Grecia non ci è mai capitata una cosa simile, non ci torneremo mai più. Esperienza deludente: gestione poco professionale e responsabilità scaricata sul cliente

Ho noleggiato un’auto con riconsegna prevista entro le ore 18:00. Poiché il centro sarebbe stato chiuso, mi è stato detto di parcheggiare l’auto nei loro stalli e inserire le chiavi in una cassetta. Fin qui tutto chiaro, se non fosse che mi è stato poi comunicato che sarei responsabile per eventuali danni da grandine anche dopo l’orario di prenotazione, quando l’auto è già in loro possesso.
Trovo questa posizione scorretta e poco trasparente, perché:
• Non specificata chiaramente nel contratto.
• In contraddizione con il concetto di “riconsegna entro l’orario stabilito”.
• Scarica sul cliente un rischio che dovrebbe competere al noleggiatore una volta che l’auto è stata restituita seguendo le istruzioni.

Ma non è finita qui: al momento del ritiro, l’auto prenotata non era nemmeno disponibile. Solo per puro caso abbiamo evitato il peggio: i clienti prima di noi non sono riusciti a ritirare il veicolo perché privi di carta di credito, e così ci è stata assegnata la loro macchina.
Altrimenti ci sarebbe toccato un Ford Transit 9 posti, assolutamente inadatto, tanto più che la mia compagna non avrebbe potuto guidarlo.

In sintesi: servizio disorganizzato, comunicazione carente, gestione del rischio assurda.
Peccato, perché il personale in loco è stato anche gentile — ma non basta a compensare una struttura così mal gestita.

Non mi rivolgerò più a questa compagnia.

We rented a car on a Saturday and, surprisingly, were charged a €50 fee for picking it up after 3:00 PM, as they consider this "out of hours." This makes no sense, especially on a Saturday, which is typically a busy rental day. What's even more strange is that during the week, their opening hours go until 8:00 PM without any extra fee.

In addition, they refused to accept our credit card (which was fully valid) to block the deposit, simply because it didn’t have printed the numbers. Nowadays, many cards in Spain are issued without visible numbers for security reasons, and this shouldn’t be an issue. As a result, we had no choice but to take their full insurance, which was much more expensive than the external insurance we had already purchased.

In short: we had to pay €50 extra due to an inflexible schedule and take out unwanted insurance due to an outdated card policy.
A disappointing experience. I do not recommend this company.

On arriving at Tivat airport, the collection was professional and the staff were friendly. However, they tried to make us pay an extra €100, on top of the waiver for "insurance", and claimed that I had chosen not to buy this in advance despite me apparently being contacted by them in advance. This was obviously a complete lie, and the third party I booked through reassured me the insurance was included. Luckily, I walked away, and after reading these reviews I am glad I did so to avoid being scammed out of more money.

Esperienza positiva, con molta dispiacere il personale mi ha guidato per la prima prenotazione. Il servizio è andato a buon fine senza problemi o intoppi.

Arrivi in perfetto orario e l'auto non c'è, dunque aspetti in giro per l'aeroporto di Catania in attesa di essere chiamato fino a quando non decidi trascorso il tempo di tornare al banco.
1. Cercano di venderti una assicurazione che hai già stipulato al momento del noleggio con il broker vipcars per il triplo del noleggio e si offendono se non la fai, sentendosi superiori e credendo che tutti sono incompetenti
2 auto sporca, piena di graffi e bolli su ogni singola parte della carrozzeria, niente liquido vetri e lampadine fulminate
3 rientri e nonostante tutto sia andato bene cercano di affiliarti danni come graffi vari che non hai fatto tu e che magari si sono già fatti pagare da chissà quante assicurazioni e clienti
4 cercano di estorcere soldi per graffi già presenti senza darti nessun documento o possibilità di contestazione nonostante il materiale fotografico è video che attesta il contrario
5 ti addebitano sensa consenso il danno sulla carta di credito
Sono da denuncia e truffano palesemente chiunque. Non noleggiate qui l'auto nonostante il prezzo attrattivo vi costerà di più oltre alle beffe. Veri ladri professionisti .... mai avuto una esperienza così pessima calcolando che noleggio decine di auto ogni anno. Scappate, cancellate e scegliete compagnie serie

⚠️ SCAM ALERT – Aca Rent is dangerous, dishonest, and should be shut down

We were victims of what seems to be a repeated and well-planned scam by Aca Rent in Albania. Like many others, we booked our car online with a confirmed price but upon arrival, they refused to hand over the car unless we paid an additional €300 for insurance. They made it very clear: no extra payment, no car. This was not optional, and not previously mentioned. It was pure extortion.

Unfortunately, that was just the beginning.

🚫 The car they gave us was in terrible and unsafe condition:

The brake system was not functioning properly, putting our safety at serious risk.

The dashboard was already warning that the car required urgent maintenance.

Only one of the three rear seatbelts existed — completely unacceptable and illegal.

After the experience, we looked up reviews and found countless reports describing the exact same situation:

Hidden charges added upon pick-up

Unsafe vehicles in poor mechanical condition

Aggressive staff pressuring tourists to pay for unnecessary insurance

Lack of accountability, professionalism, and transparency

It’s clear this is not a one-off — it’s a deliberate scam strategy targeting tourists.

🚫 Avoid Aca Rent at all costs
🚫 They are scammers, not a real car rental company
🚫 Book only through trusted international companies or well-reviewed local agencies

If this review helps at least one person avoid being scammed like we were, then it’s worth it. Aca Rent is a disgrace to Albanian tourism. Do not fall for the “cheap price” trap, you’ll end up paying more in money, time, and stress.

Contratti non firmati da parte loro, ti fanno fare le foto al ritiro, poi si basano solo su quelle. Al nostro ritiro pioveva tantissimo, con il bagnato i graffi esistenti, ed erano tanti...non si vedevano bene, abbiamo chiesto un posto riparato e non ci volevano accontentare...Al ritorno hanno controllato per mezz ora e dovevamo documentare con le foto fatte. Volevano a tutti costi addebitarci dei danni inesitenti. Mio figlio avvocato è intervenuto subito e si sono calmati...

Noleggio di 1 settimana presso aeroporto di Catania. Ottimo prezzo, staff cordiale (abbiamo parlato con Francesco, molto disponibile e competente).
Sono molto trasparenti nel fornire tutte le informazioni necessarie per il noleggio e la gestione delle eventuali polizze. Ritornerò volentieri da loro!

We used Discovercars to rent a car in Corfu. They advertised ACARENT and it had an overall high rating on their site. We selected the pickup time and were told someone would meet us at the arrivals. When no one showed up at the pickup time we phoned them and they said they were on their way. Still they did not show, when we phoned again they were incredibly rude and refused to come, instead telling us to come back at 11.00 (12 hours later) and they would rent us a car. I have since contacted Discovercars to complain. We finally got a reply after days, with ACARENT lying and stating we arrived late. To my surprise, without any evidence, Discovercars has sided with ACARENT and refused a refund.

For these reasons I would avoid Disocvercars and ACARENT. Dont be fooled by cheap prices.

L’agence est très professionnelle, avec un service rapide et efficace. Un grand merci à Youssef pour son accueil chaleureux : il a été très serviable, disponible à tout moment et toujours joignable pour répondre à nos questions. Cela fait vraiment la différence. Je recommande vivement cette agence pour vos locations de voiture !

Entreprise sérieuse et professionnelle et Mr Youssef était facilement joignable et serviable, la voiture était propre et nickel.

Изключително некоректни. Резервирах кола от тях на о. Корфу. Полетът беше късно през нощта. Заявих късно взимане на автомобила срещу заплащане. Изпратих номер на полета, както те поискаха, за да може агентът на компанията-доставчик да го проследи. Кацнахме със закъснение и никой не ни чакаше. Имаше над десет агенти на други ренталски фирми, които предоставиха техните коли на клиентите. С нашия полет пътуваха още една група, която също не можа да вземе автомобил от същата компания-доставчик. Няколко часа по-късно същата фирма предложиха същата кола за същото време на двойна цена. След редица имейли не предоставиха никаква компенсация за неспазената уговорка. Да не споменавам неудобството и стреса посред нощ на летището.

I wish I had of read these reviews before we rented, i am so surprised that the aggregator VIP cars gave them such a good review. When we returned the car, they identified a very small chip in the bumper (about the size of a grain of rice). So small that even if we saw it we would not have thought anything of it (its an older car and that is just wear and tear). They charged us 400EUR for it. TOTAL SCAM

Booked car hire and printed car hire voucher which clearly stated pick up time of 23.00 hrs
When arriving at airport no one was there to greet us
Telephoned company who said they were shut
Therefore had to find our way to Kavos ourselves
Phoned them next morning to say we would get a bus to the airport to pick up and told us they had cancelled it despite me having a copy of agreed pick up time on my voucher
Offered us a car at 150 euros per day instead
I asked where our car had gone overnight which they didn't answer
First time ever let down by a car hire company
Luckily found a helpful local firm called Alphas and got a car for 150 euros for rest of hol

If I could give ZERO stars, I absolutely would. This scam of a company completely RUINED our holiday in Albania by extorting nearly €700 from my husband for so-called “damage” that NEVER even happened. That’s right—€700 for NOTHING.

When we landed in Tirana at 11:30 PM, we were handed an ancient, beat-up car covered in scratches, clearly hoping we wouldn’t be able to take proper photos in the dark. And surprise, surprise—on return, the so-called “manager” showed his true colours: aggressive, rude, and downright hostile. He had the audacity to tell us we should have exchanged the car during the day! Are you kidding me?! What absolute nonsense!

This company is a total disgrace. Dishonest, predatory, and shameless. Avoid them at all costs unless you want your trip turned into a nightmare.
P.S. Unsurprisingly , there is not a single response to any of the negative reviews.

Absolutely the worst car rental experience I've ever had. This company is a complete scam and should be shut down. They rent out old, heavily used cars with over 45,000+ km, covered in scratches, dents, and previous damage. But the trick? They hand over the car still wet from washing so you can't properly inspect or notice the damage until it’s too late.

Then comes the scam — they fabricate damage charges after you return the car, just so they can steal your deposit. It’s all a setup. No matter how careful you are, they’ll find an excuse to keep your money. It’s dishonest, unethical, and completely disgraceful.

This operation is a stain on Albania’s growing tourism industry. It’s a shame, because the country has so much to offer — but businesses like this exploit visitors and damage Albania’s reputation.

Do yourself a favor: rent elsewhere. This company is not worth the risk. Shame on them.
