A relief to find that Asprey exists to help me navigate insurers

Not having much experience of having to deal with insurers, I was very relieved to find that Asprey existed to help me navigate things. I was also very relieved that Jimmy, the Assessor appointed to me, took the time and effort to understand my needs so well. He kept me informed regularly and did a really good job of co-ordinating the contractors and getting them to move pretty speedily on my behalf, as well as keeping my letting agent in the loop. He also went above and beyond to help me with my dealings with the council, which was a real Godsend. Nothing seemed like too much trouble, and given how busy I am, it was a relief to deal with someone who cares about what they do, gets on with it, and does it swiftly. Asprey customer service was good and responsive too.

Bill Maynard - Aspray.com Legend!

I honestly don’t know how I would have coped with Bill Maynard from Aspray.com. My insurance claim was for a minor escape of water from a plinth heater located in my kitchen. The first we knew about it was when the threshold expanded and we couldn’t close the door. By this point water had soaked the whole kitchen floor under the lino and also leaked under the carpet in the hallway.
I had heard of aspray.com via my perks and work website and decided to look into this instead of dealing with the claim myself. I knew I would find it stressful and with working full time I felt I needed support. The proposition seemed simple and straightforward, aspray.com deal with all aspects of the claim and then they do the work. They make money by having good tradespeople who give them a beneficial rate and therefore enabling them to take a ‘cut’ of the claim. This is not at any cost to the customer. Alternatively, aspray.com take 10% of the final cash settlement.
My colleagues and friends thought it sounded too good to be true. Oh how wrong they were. I mentioned it was a straightforward and minor claim. Well it took almost a year to get a suitable cash settlement. At this point I want to name and shame my insurance company and the loss adjuster they use. Rias or parent company Ageas made every part of the claim process an absolute nightmare. Sedgwick the loss adjuster were absolutely useless and downright incompetent throughout.
Thankfully I didn’t have to deal with any of it unless I chose to. It was poor Bill Maynard from aspray.com stuck on hold for in excess of 1hr 45mins every time he phoned Sedgwick. Emails he sent were ignored, forcing him to call. He was also the one who met the loss adjuster at my home to discuss the claim. All seemed positive when they agreed with Bill’s ‘scope of works’. The quote for doing the work came in at around £9000. Sedgwicks and the insurance company offered £900!
Bill Maynard supported me through the process of rejecting this offer. Another period of ineptitude from Sedgwicks ensued and it was several months before a revised off was provided. This time for around £3500. I made a complaint to Ageas at this point and it was upheld. I was given £150 compensation which I rejected. I then received compensation of £300 and a promise that the final settlement would be reviewed.
Throughout all this Bill Maynard was always available and replied to all emails or texts within 24hrs. In fact on occasions he replied immediately. I felt I had a positive and honest relationship with him and he gave me good advice when I was considering taking the claim to the Ombudsman. Had I chosen to Bill indicated he was happy to provide evidence and support.
Sedgwick made their final offer of £5500. I can honestly say that without Bill and aspray.com it is highly likely that I would have settled for significantly less. I would not have understood the extent of the damage or the true cost to put it right. I would probably have settled at 50% of what I got. The knowledge, skills and support from Bill enabled me to get as good and fair settlement as possible.
I opted to take a cash settlement and put it towards a new kitchen. I happily paid the 10% fee to Bill, he was worth every penny. Part of me actually feels guilty because he was probably worth more.
I would highly recommend anyone considering using aspray.com to do so. Yes you may incur a 10% fee but the chances are the final settlement will be higher and offset the fee easily. Also the peace of mind and no stress are very good reasons too. It will also save you a whole bunch of time sat on hold for hours on end.

Terrible experience. AVOID

Terrible experience do not use avoid with all costs. Starting from poor workmanship a wet room unfit to use a floor which has been un leveled /supported correctly my stone hallway is moving around hazards to my pets potentially poisoning my dogs with chemicals left to leak over my garden decking then also sharp edges of cut tiles left around causing risk when we had to call the company back for an entire extra week than was originally scheduled all they had tried to do was say it is an old house these things can happen while working in a 20-35 year old extension when my son challenged what was being said by the "professionals" he was abused repeatedly then to top it all I have an email with discriminatory comments made about my son assuming his disability?! Asprey is claiming to give vetted workmen not a single item has not had to be fixed several times or worse in fact can not be fixed must be fully replaced again! Avoidance was the main tactic used to try justify the company's lack of qualified experienced employees which is why we are left in this mess

Good experience overall

Good experience overall! Helped me navigate my way through the murky world of insurance and helped me get my flat back to its former glory. Would use them again if I had to (North West London branch I think?). Joe, Audrey and Palak really came through!

Don't think smaller jobs get the attention

The Aspray assessor initially agreed with the insurance that there was minimal damage and a very low price was offered. Luckily I didn't sign to accept, and in a subsequent visit by contractors to assess works, they pointed out much more extensive damage. Aspray then did write a counter report to the insurers but then there was no movement for almost 10 months. I ended up taking back control, contacting the insurance company and submitting a formal complaint to the insurance company, and I was then offered more than six times the initial payment offer. The inhouse insurer expressed in his decision that the initial assessment was extremely low. I asked Aspray to check the final offer, and had to chase this for a month (reason given was that they had 'big jobs'). They then wrote another report, but at this point it had been a year so I got a second opinion on the offer and accepted it and paid off Aspray. For the smaller jobs I'd recommend just getting a second and third opinion on the damage and coordinating with the insurer yourself. The reports they wrote were useful in the end, and the initial service good before it petered out, hence two stars, but i think my job was just not big enough for them.

Amazing honest people

Amazing honest people. Would totally recommend Aspray they handled everything and limited my stress. Until I got in touch with Aspray and met Bill my insurance company gave me such a hard time and I was not getting anywhere with them. Thank you for all your help Bill.

Professional, thoughtful and efficient

All aspects of our claim were handled in a professional, thoughtful and efficient manner with the exception of Easy Storage removal services. Here the process was inefficient, unprofessional and led to damage of our property which the Aspray team are helping us resolve.

What to expect with Asprays from a customers perspective

From the initial contact with Iain Speedie at Asprays to the work being completed on my apartment, I have been incredibly impressed by the high level of customer service provided. Ian's attention to detail is such that the apartment is now at a standard higher than the specification it was before. He went above and beyond to source specific flooring types and a particular style of wallpaper which I had from many years ago. At all times he kept me up to date with the progress of the work. He was also on call constantly to allay any of my worries regarding some of the damage that had taken place and how it would be rectified. Moreover, he is a thoroughly pleasant guy to deal with given the stress I was under after the extensive water damage that had occurred to my home. I can't thank him enough for the fantastic service.

Underground water leak

After an underground water leak in our utility room Mark proved to be invaluable in managing a very unhelpful insurance company and contracting for the subsequent room removal, drying and refitting.
He had his finger on the pulse throughout the claim with timely and prompt interactions.

Awful situation made better by great service

If you are in the position of needing the services of Mark at Aspray, then do not think about it, just contact him. You will not be disappointed, actually you will be totally delighted, as we are. Mark was contacted due to our property flooding with sewerage, due to negligence at Thames Water. A horrible position to be in. After contacting Mark, we were able to then relax, stand back and leave it in Marks capable hands. He handled every thing from there and ensured that the work was carried out to the best of standards. Best of all, this is a free service.

Terrible communication. Had to chase for callbacks

I called and spoke to Sarah who asked me to send all of the details via email which I did. She didn't return my call on 3 occasions and said she needed time to look at my case and then said she couldn't help me as we were claiming through our builders insurance and they could only help with policy holder claims. This is completely misleading on your website. We are now back to square one. Terrible communication

Absolutely first class to deal with

Following a leak being identified I got in touch with Bill from Aspray to help guide me through this really worrying time. I was given details for a company to help identify the leak and they guided me through the process with my insurance company. From start to end they were on hand taking all the hassle of progressing the matter, even attending our home to liaise with the Halifax assessor. Superb service and definitely recommend them.

A complete god send. Thank you Asprey!

Asprey have been a complete god send since a leak from the flat above left our entire ceiling collapsed and damage to walls and floors. The flat had just been prepped to go on the market and thousands of pounds spent getting it ready.

Nicky took the reigns on everything and bought had the work carried out with no need for us to get involved at all. It cost us nothing and definitely saved us time and a whole lot of hassle having to deal with insurers and labourers etc.

Cannot recommend them enough it’s a brilliant service and if I’m unfortunate enough to need them again I wouldn’t hesitate to get in touch with Nicky.

Aspray's have been handling my claim in a very proactive and efficient manner and I am very happy with the work so far.

The work is not yet completed but given the progress to date, I have every confidence that I will be delighted with the reinstatement of my bathroom after a very destructive leak.

Terrific support after fire

Immediately after our house fire we felt lost and overwhelmed. Thank goodness we found a link to Aspray and Mario. Mario project managed the whole process, battled with the insurance company on our behalf and made the whole process a thousand times less stressful. If you’re having to make an insurance claim call Mario, he is amazing.

Highly Recommended

After my home was flooded from a burst pipe, I contacted Aspray for help with my insurance claim. Bill immediately arranged an appointment within a short time. He inspected the damage and was very helpful with his advice and guidance, giving me an accurate assessment of the figure I should expect from my insurers (he was right too!). Bill was more than happy to answer further queries for me via the phone afterwards too. He also kindly recommended some building contactors, one of which I selected to complete the restorations works. I would highly recommend Aspray.

Totally Brilliant

After a vehicle severely damaged my tenant's house I was struggling to even get started with the claim and had never heard of a loss assessor. The (big) insurance company just passed it off to loss adjusters who were impossible to get hold of. I felt I was at a huge disadvantage and heading for a disaster. I found Aspray and they just took over the same day. George simply told me to leave it to him. So I did. He was local and assessed the damage, dealt with the loss adjuster and insurance company, agreed the claim, arranged the work which included everything from relaying the wall to painting the hallway. He liaised with the tenants and supervised the work to the end keeping me and my tenants informed every step of the way. I felt completely reassured and very relieved. It was far quicker than I'd anticipated and the cost was covered in the claim. George, and Aspray, really fought my corner and they're very good at it.

Great company to work with

Contacted Asprey a few months ago regarding my insurance claim and Satinder has been brilliant, he has been extremely professional and thorough and I am extremely satisfied with the service . He helped achieve what I had thought was going to be impossible.
