Highly recommended!
They sent us four men and a 28' truck, and they moved us out of a 2,000 square foot house with THREE levels in under two hours, got us across town, AND moved us into the new house in under two hours. The antiques were handled very well and thoroughly/neatly wrapped. Additionally, we had 25 pallets we needed to be moved and thought they wouldn't fit on the truck. So we'd reserved a separate U-Haul for the following day. They were so space-efficient in their truck packing that there was room for all the pallets, which they loaded up for us without an issue or complaint. We canceled the U-Haul, and they saved us a lot of time and effort the following day. I'd HIGHLY recommend them for your move!!
WORST experience I've ever had with any…
WORST experience I've ever had with any company - their customer service philosophy is practically non-existent. They told me so many different things for a selling sake and none of it was true when it came to the real service.
Nothing happened as it was supposed to:
- scheduling a pick up time
- receiving my things "within 7-10 days" (got it after more than two weeks)
- every person I spoke to either withheld info from me or yelled at me
The 2 biggest thing I am upset about is 1. I had requested my personal data as a customer and for it to be deleted (and according to CA law, this is a right that I have) but I was instead told that I am not allowed to have access to my own information and that I was a waste of their time.
And 2. When they finally arrived, I had a few of my things broken and no one will respond to my inquiries. The amount of mental and emotional stress and anxiety they gave to me is not worth the amount they charged me - DO NOT use them!
Let me walk you through our AWFUL…
Let me walk you through our AWFUL experience with this company. It started with a phone call from the broker who did offer me the cheapest estimate I could find for our move from NYC to FL. He rushed me through the contract and so I verbally asked how long would this take and he said on average 5-7 days. Making me feel like our stuff would get there within a week. When I went to call to check in our stuff a few days later they said they couldn't give me the phone number of the moving company. So I waited a week later the moving company said that our stuff had been unloaded to a warehouse and would be about another week till a truck got there to take it to FL. We called and customer service person at Alliance and they were so rude. They repeatedly told us that we should have read the contract better & they only reason they're taking our call is because we were taking up space on there line. Then our price was practically doubled by the movers and we saw them throwing our items into the truck. Needless to say when it got here it was all broken. My couple thousand dollar sewing machine is in pieces and the coverage will be about $100 for it. Our TV's are broken, bookshelves, china cabinets. Then on top of that the movers were super pushy. They kept asking for help, asking how much we were going to tip. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND ENDED UP COSTING US 3X THE AMOUNT QUOTED.
Horrible
Horrible. The "binding" estimate is not binding. I was charged an extra $1,700 by the actual moving company. 2 antique wing backed chairs were completely broken and a grandfather clock was damaged needing repair. The cost of repair and replacement is around $2,000. The moving insurance only pays .60 cents per pound.
Dangelo Bartoletti
I'm a repeat customer; they're always on time, friendly and efficient. They did an outstanding job of making sure everything is where you want. The price was terrific with no hidden fees. Would recommend!
Highly recommended
The crew which packed my goods were excellent, courtiers and very polite. I highly recommend them! These guys are so quick and good quality packing, loading helpful with any extras, things friendly, everything done on good time & delivered safely on time also.
Very expert
Very expert, they go above what I expected. Out of a moving company, it was raining on the day of our move. They laid blankets down so no wet footprints, everything was protected, and nothing got moist. They all were very accommodating. They took the pressure out of the move. Thank you all!
Worsed experience ever
Worsed experience ever
I hired Alliance to move from NV to FL I was told that it would take 10-14 days they pressure you to book immediately and if you find another company that is less expensive call them and they will meet there price. When you find another company that is less expensive everyone else is poorly rated and they will not meet the price and convince you that if you use that company you will have a bad experience. 1st lie Then when you call to confirm pickup they tell you there is a 2 days window ( you tell them you are moving on a specific date) they change that 2nd lie.
The movers are not Alliance Van lines they are a different company 3rd lie. They lie on the cubic footage 4 lie. The pick up driver will tell you they will deliver an you select a date. 5th lie. You stuff is unloaded into a warehouse for up to 30 business days 6th lie. It took my stuff 47 days. And they damaged my bike by stacking boxes and furniture on top of it
Horrible!
Horrible!! If you want to be more stressed than you have ever been in your life use this company. I am all alone out across the country from my family and friends, and alliance was supposed to pick up my stuff and never came. They give you a 2 day window and are supposed to call the day before to tell you what time. It’s the second day and no call and I’ve called them myself 4 times today. They kept saying we have no idea what the status is but we will call… now they say that the movers won’t be coming and they have no idea when they will be, could be days from now. I have missed my flight and am stuck. Do NOT use this company if you are on a time crunch and need them to be there the day they say they will be
Delusional company, their owner insulted my Fiancé and I thought I was going to take his side?
This company is a nightmare. They provided me a fake BBB posting to reassure me that they are a strong A rated company (If they provide you an A rated BBB, know this is their real BBB (Google "Alliance Van Lines BBB" for the real BBB, TrustPilot doesn't allow links) and report the fake one, that needs to be shut down. Besides what has been previously posted about them only being a broker, they are a terrible Broker.
We were told that as we had scheduled the move months ahead of time we were on a route and we should not worry, despite telling them we work from home and our computers, desks and everything we needed to go back to work was packed, they said it wouldn't be a problem, luckily we decided to pack the computers in our car cuz its been over a month since our first available delivery date and they still don't even know when the truck will be loaded. We spoke to the owner, he straight up insulted my Fiancé and threatened to withhold our order if we didn't hang up.
Needless to say we are past the last allotted delivery date and they don't care. I suspect the reason there are no responses to any of their negative reviews is their all true and (Again I suspect) their positive reviews are fake, as they're all roughly the same length from accounts with only one review. Never work with this company.
Beware! Scammers and Liars!
In short, beware! Our items were picked up 5/13/2021. We were told numerous times that they would be delivered, worst case scenario,14 business days from our FADD, which was 5/20/2021. It is now 6/22/2021 and we still do not have our items. When we called to discuss the misinformation we were provided at the time of signing the contract with them, we were yelled at, and at one point, I was called a hysterical woman. We have a recording of this call that has been submitted to the FMSCA, BBB, etc. This is not a company you want to enter into business with.
1) Alliance Van Lines is a broker. They will not mention this verbally.
2) They are in violation of FMSCA rules as they do not list ANY of the actually moving companies they will sell your contract to, if nothing else, not to mention deceptive sales techniques including the below example.
3) Lisa M. and other sales reps at the company will provide you a fake BBB page. Their correct BBB page is the one listed in Fort Lauderdale, FL with all of their license info, etc. on it, not the one with an Atlanta address they will send you to. Check the license info, etc. on their website and/or your estimate paperwork and you will be able to confirm. They have a C rating while only being in business for two years. This, quite frankly, is a higher grade then they deserve based on our experience.
4) John Edwards, the supposed owner of this highly questionable "company" will threaten to withhold your items, attempt to intimidate you into not filing claims or ask about their deceptive sales techniques, etc. Highly recommend that if you do ever speak to these people, record all conversations.
Things we have learned from this extremely negative experience with Alliance Van Lines:
1) Do not, under any circumstances, work with any interstate broker or moving company that only accepts cash payments.
2) If you have already paid a down payment, etc. via credit or debit card and have evidence such as the above, where they provided the incorrect BBB page, didn't disclose they were a broker and/or did not provide any information regarding who they would sell your contract to, dispute the charge (your credit card company or bank is usually extremely helpful in this regard).
3) Do not accept any links, etc. they provide you with reviews, BBB ratings, etc. as fact. Definitely look up on your own as well.
4) Do not believe that how Alliance Van Lines operates is the industry norm, which they will try to claim. It is not and there are real brokers and moving companies out there that do care about their customers. However, they do cost more. This is an investment that is completely worth it.
Good luck!
Never again
Never again; learnt my lesson.
The scam they run is the following: they will pick up your furniture in timely fashion because once they do, they essentially hold you hostage. It's been almost 30 days since they picked up my furniture and still waiting for delivery.
First I was told delivery would take place between Tuesday June 8th to Thursday June 10th. On Thursday, I got a call saying will take place on Friday June 11th. On Friday they call and tell me delivery is guaranteed to occur on Sunday June 13th between 11AM-4PM. I had a wedding to attend on Sunday but I just wanted to get this over and done with, so I ate the cost of the airfare (couldn't get a refund) and missed my friend's wedding. It is now 7:45PM on Sunday and STILL no delivery.
I'm just too exhausted to even be angry at this point. Moving is always an awful experience but these people love making it worse.
These people seriously do not care: they already have your deposit, the pick-up fee, and they are happy to forgo the last payment since they are holding tens of thousands of dollars of your property.
It is Sunday right now. I've been waiting for these people since 11AM. They called at 3PM saying they'll be heading to my place next. It is now 7:45PM and nothing.
I missed the wedding, lost my airfare, have done nothing but waiting around, and they can't even dignify themselves to let me know what's up. And entire Sunday just wasted, couldn't even go to the grocery store just waiting for them.
I cannot even begin to think what an awful pain it'll be when they actually deliver and not everything is there.
Terrible communication and hidden fees
Absolutely terrible experience. This company waited three days before my move to finalize my inventory. This added $1,000 to my original bill which I signed for weeks prior. Because they do not refund security deposits, I had no choice but to move forward and pay whatever extra fees were added. Even after confirming my final inventory, they did not estimate the proper amount of space, adding hundreds of extra fees after my items were loaded on to the truck. The truck did not arrive in the time 3 hour time slot that I reserved. Because the truck was so late I was unable to move on the original move date. Please save yourself the time, money and stress by choosing a different moving company! They do not care about their clients at all.
Not a good choice
Alliance Van Lines does not own any fleet themselves. Instead, they just book for you with another booker. That would be fine, if they took care to book you at trusted professionals. They do not; I was booked with probably the cheapest guys they could find so they maximized their profit. I was stuck with movers walking in without masks in the middle of a pandemic, and then were unable to actually ship my stuff for over a month. The movers just sat on it, and when I called Van Alliance about this, all of a sudden "they were only the booky". Their contract stated they you get a refund if the delay is more than 3 weeks, but they never gave that to me.
Find another company
They quoted me the lowest possible price and made the average sizes of the items I have them as small as possible. By the time the movers got here I was charged and extra $2000. Go somewhere else
Be warned- These people are crooks
Be warned- These people are crooks. We were moving a 4 bedroom house 800 ish miles away. Their employee gives us a good quote about $300 cheaper than others so we go with them. As we go through the house listing items he tells me only get the big stuff. So that what I do we go through All 4 bedrooms, dining room, kitchen and garage. He tells me not to worry as the amount being specific as the movers will catalogue everything and the actual total will vary based on the weight after picked up. After that they call up to verify and the lady on the phone goes into some more detail so we add a few things and take away a few things and the bill went up $500. Not overly concerned because we did add more than we took away. Both the initial Alliance person and the second person confirmed the pickup of the 16th or the 17th which the movers did meet. Both the Alliance people said the delivery is usually 1-5 days after pickup. I explained we were closing on the new house 3 days after the pickup and was told no problem. Movers show up and are concerned because there is some smaller things that are not on their list and some items that are on the list that aren’t there (we decided to donate them). They total up boxes and items and make a few phone calls and now the bill goes up another $1150. Pissed, but since I have no choice (I have to be out of the house that night) I agree. So we get up to the new house and the 5 day window comes and goes with no contact at all. After 4 attempts at calling the movers they return a call and say it won’t be delivered for 6 more days and there is nothing they can do about it. So I call Alliance since they told me the 5 day drop off window. Where I am promptly told that the contact states the carrier has 10 days to drop it off from the 1st available date. So while 2 different people with Alliance tell me 5 days from the 16th drop off date apparently the fine print says they can take until the 30th. When I mention the amount increase i am told that after that phone call the items are locked so if I remove items I am still paying for them even though I’m not bringing them. This of course contradicts again what I was told by the first and 2nd Alliance people. My inventory of the house may not have been 100 % accurate and I told them that on the phone. I was assured it would be okay and taken care of, I was assured several times that the delivery would be roughly 1-5 days from pickup... Neither were true. Now we are paying about 1500 more than most the other quotes and on top of that we are living on an air mattress for 6 extra days, eating out 3 meals a day for 6 meals and I have to go buy work clothes because my clothes won’t be here until after i start my new job. So far every employee I have dealt with at Alliance Van Lines are untrustworthy liars. I would not trust them again to move a paper plate.
Great Job!
This was my second time using this company to move and they were amazing! Everything was kept in great condition and the guys moved everything quickly. Go Alliancevanlines go. I have already recommended these guys to my friends in Chandler.AZ
Very expensive and unprofessional/unethical behaviour.
This company is very bad in communicating with their clients. They provide you with an inaccurate quote and add many hidden charges. I did not have much experience with moving companies before and Alliance Van Lines took advantage of my situation and charged me double the amount that they initially negotiated with me. The workers and the staff are very unprofessional and do not respect the clients and all they want is to make as much money as they can from clients who need affordable service.
Poor/Misleading Service
This was my first time reaching out to a moving company to handle the pick-up and delivery of my items, due to the fact I was moving a considerable distance. I was moving from NYC to Miami, FL. The agents assisting me with the initial moving process were nice enough. However, I would like to state, either through my own naiveté or perhaps not fully understanding the process, I was never fully understanding the full scope of the logistics of how this process all works. Firstly, when utilizing a service such as that of Alliance Van Lines, the first thing they will inform you of is that once you begin working with them you will start to receive an ENDLESS amount of calls from other 3rd party vendors who will attempt to confuse you by stating "There's been a cancelation for your moving date in your area", or something of the like, and attempt to steal your business over to them using these sleazy sales tactics. They are relentless and will text/call you at any time and will not stop calling you unless you block them. Secondly, you must understand Alliance Van Lines is a 3rd party vendor themselves and are not the actual moving truck company that will be in charge of moving your items. The best way I can describe what Alliance Van Lines does is search through their database of moving trucks and what their destination dates and cabin availability is to ultimately match you with a truck that would be heading towards your intended destination, while charging you a service fee of course. Mind you, the "deposit fee" that Alliance Van Lines charges you, is in actuality their service fee. This service fee is based off an ESTIMATE (keep this in mind, it will be important later) of the inventory list you provide them with. They will use clever sales tactics in informing you they are providing you with certain "discounts" to lower you cost, which ultimately will not determine the actual amount you will have to pay to the actual moving truck company. These "discounts" can only affect your "deposit fee" (i.e. Alliance Van Line 3rd Party service fee). For example, after I made several calls to Alliance Van Lines agents, working very hard to have a complete and accurate inventory of the items I intended to move, they provided me with a total overall estimate of $2,373.49. I paid an initial "deposit" of $939 to Alliance Van Lines (again that has nothing to do with the amount the trucking company will actually charge) - and they stated from the amount of changes to the inventory, it would be an additional $200 to add to the "deposit", and FURTHER, that I would owe 2 separate payments (one at pick-up, and one at delivery) of $617.25. Not only was this not the case. The moving company informed me that whatever I paid Alliance has nothing to do with them. (The moving truck company was A-Plus Van Lines btw). The actual amount they charged me was $830.38 (for the pick-up) and they even told me the second payment might end up being more. I would let you know but I still have yet to receive my items!!! The best part: I had been coordinating with Alliance Van Lines for a month! And they informed me the moving truck was coming Sept 2, 2020. However, that same week leading up to the pick-up date, I was informed it was actually Sep 2nd OR Sep 3rd that the moving truck would be arriving. ALSO - important information I was not given: THE MOVING TRUCK HAD ME SIGN A CONTRACT THAT MY ITEMS COULD ARRIVE ANYTIME BETWEEN 3 - 21 BUSINESS DAYS!!! Information I wish I had earlier. I thought my items would have arrived with me much sooner. But it is now Sep. 12 and i continually call the moving company and MY ITEMS HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN LOADED TO THE TRUCK YET! At this point, I would not recommend to anyone to use their services. Had I known all this information, I would've just rented a UHAUL truck or the equivalent and driven it down myself.
Tried to get a refund twice
Tried to get a refund twice, but no response after agreeing to. Funny how quick they were to run the card but can’t honor their refund policy. If you want to deal with hustlers then choose them.
