Scammers!!!!!!!

I signed up for a free trial and next thing they sent me an invoice for a publication I neve received nor used.
I was so gullible to have even paid part
May you all crumble to hell

Extremely misleading. Like many thought I was signing up for a free service. Never gave bank details etc. trying to extort money now. Never know a company with so many negative reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, I have fallen victim to a scam. I signed up for a free online tool called Mental Health Advisor. What was not clear at all was that this involved a subscription. The very next day, I emailed them to cancel, as I did not wish to sign up.

I never entered any card details and understood that I had a 30-day free trial during which I could cancel. I assumed the cancellation had gone through because I received no confirmation. Two months later, I received an invoice. When I questioned it, they insisted I had signed up. It was only after checking my messages that I realized the subscription came under a company called Agora.

Contacting them is extremely frustrating. Emails take ages to get a response, and calling the number they provide just results in being referred back to email. I have sent proof that I canceled within the allowed timeframe, but there has been no response.

Avoid Agora and anything called Mental Health Advisor – this is 100% a scam.

Very concerned about this company. My husband received an invoice for £99.80 for a subscription he did not order.
Do not know where they got his name and address from but my husband has been retired due to ill health for over 10 years and has never heard of this company.
I phoned Agora and spoke to a lady named Anna who told me he had ordered the subscription, I told her there is no way he could have done this and she said she would speak to a colleague and cancel it.
No apology or explanation as to where they got his details. Very suspicious of their practices, beware and avoid.

Duped into signing up to a payment for a service I did not even use. Very underhanded company. Do not use this company the services you get from them can mostly be done for free. I’m angry

Absolutely disgusting company. Luckily I saw the small print just after i asked to download the "free software" emailed them and called them to confirm the cancellation. KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THESE SCAMMERS!!!

I am a Health and Safety Consultant, trying to run a Good Honest respectable business, and I was looking for some advice, I thought I would use a local company, signed up to the news letter, now I am being sent demands for payment, which now includes late payment fees, and threatening Debit Collection Agency's. I never used any of the services, so trust me, this company is a scam! I will be seeking advice from Trading Standards, and I will make sure that I never deal with sure unscrupulous individuals again.

If I could give negative review I would. I really hope these people sleep well at night. I was looking for ‘free’ advice as advertised to aid our small grass roots charity, and we are now being threatened with debt collection letters. Every penny we raise ourselves goes towards the animals in our care and companies like this get away with taking advantage of people every day.

I did not knowingly enrol on a paid Health and Safety Adviser course, I was Generally having a look. And they then sent me an invoice. This has happened on two occasions now
First one was in 2020
And now again 12/11/2025

They are scam artists trying to trap people in paying for something that they did not want

The first I heard of Agora publications was a letter sent to my home address combining aspects of my work address and my home address, and my pre married name. The initial letter was information that I owed a payment for 9 months of "subscription items" and it was being passed to a debt collector.
I contacted the company to discuss what this debt was and where it came from. I was informed that I had signed up to a CQC newsletter, and they had been sending it to my email. I expressed to them I had not received and someone had signed me up without my knowledge and not even knowing full details to which is was to be raised as query. I then received an email about 9 days later telling me I had the subscription, I'm paying the debt, and they will not talk about it anymore. On the same day I received a letter from CCS collect debt recovery.
While on this process I am speaking with citizens advice and the financial /consumer ombudsman teams.

Stay away from this company. If they contact you, you will have better support from the debt collection team. Don't waste your energy.

Avoid like the plague..
Misleading and manipulative and very pushy.. make you think your signing up to newsletter and tie you into a contract.. you don't hear anything from them until a bill is received for £100 and then they get pushy and threatening.. terrible company and poor customer service.. do not use them

Total Scammers. Downloaded a single Template then got billed because they sent "Subscriptions" via email that we never entertained or clicked on.

I am writing this review to share my experience and warn others about Agora Business Publications. After reading several other reviews, I realised I am not alone. I seem to have fallen victim to what feels like a very misleading process.
I had no idea that I had supposedly subscribed to their product. On October 8th, 2025, I received an unexpected invoice for £99.80 via email, and I unsubscribed. To my surprise, a letter arrived at my home stating that my first payment was due on October 28th, 2025.
I called them on November 17th, 2025, but they were unable to give me a clear explanation for the charges, especially since I had already unsubscribed. Based on my experience, I find the company’s practices extremely concerning. Considering the number of similar reviews, I intend to escalate this issue and raise awareness about what many customers have described as deceptive behaviour.

Spam company. Careful. I never buy any service or product from this company and This guys send invoice and trying to extort money

This is a scam - DO NOT sign up for any mailings from this company.
If you sign up to the 30 day free trial they automatically put you onto a 30day credit account terms and invoice you. Even when you cancel they still invoice you and keep invoicing every month. Months and months later, they send a letter threatening debt action (obviously selling on the debt to debt agencies. This is a horrendous dishonest business model and this company should be shut down.

I thought I has signed up to a free news letter, but as most on here have experienced I somehow ended up owing them over £100 for a newsletter I didn't want. I have glanced through the newsletter and it is AI generated rubbish. The way they think they trap you is tantamount to a scam. Beware have nothing to do with this company. I have no intention of paying them any money and the countless reviews on here will be very good supporting evidenece to dispute such payments. Scammers!!!

Clearly this is a ploy to gain income in a dishonest manner by using their cleverly designed technicality.

DO NOT entertain this company with your email address. It will result in your company getting an invoice.
unless you unsubscribe you will be charged.
we have just had our invoice credited in full - "They (Agora) checked their email system and noted emails were sent but appeared to be clicked on 6 times as open all at the same time, which indicates to them (Agora) our (Meridian) security system rejected the email so I (Meridian) wouldn't have seen it."

it is disappointing that Agora uses this practice. However, i am pleased that it has been resolved, you get a 2 star for resolving something that should never have happened
