The unit is very quiet compared to my moms . Acorn is much more sturdy and smooth and very easy to operate . i do have my moms to compare and i wish i would have picked acorn for her. Overall the sales staff and installer were great. i suggest anyone thinking about getting one do it.!!!!!! i dont feel like its an age issue . Its freedom!!! i can come and go without anxiety!!! Initial site evaluation by Acorn representative and installation by Acorn professional. Acorn customer representative who offered help when contacted was almost constantly out-of-touch with the Acorn company since most of the responses we received from that person were mostly "don't know about that" or plainly "don't know". This person was a negative figure in our purchase process and would have negated the purchase if other Acorn representatives had not been customer service orientedl

Everything went wrong from beginning to…
Everything went wrong from beginning to end. I was told the install could take place within a week but, they were not able to set the install date for 2 weeks. Then, on the install date, the Technician called in sick and I had to take time off of work AGAIN to reschedule. I had to set up a payment plan for $3200 and I was told the 1st payment wouldn't be due until March but, when I spoke with someone from Finance, they told me the deductions would start in January and I won't have the money. The Rep. returned my first 2 calls but, after that she never got back to me so, she didn't care after the sale. As much as you charge for this thing, you should have top-notch customer service and support, none of which I have seen. I hope this thing works so, I don't have to deal with your customer service again.

Yearly unit service!
Gladly provided assistance for my wife's need to get safely to the upstairs for showers & sleeping, since Aug 25, 2023.
The problem is the yearly service of the unit. Each anniversary of installation, I'm contacted for the yearly service fee, but receiving the service is slow! I've been waiting since 08/2025 & advised it might be done 03/31/2026!!
Truly, I'm not impressed w/ the follow-up service!!

Great product and great company employees
Company responded immediately when we were looking for outdoor personnel lift options. The salesman explained the functions of the stairlift chair thoroughly.
The installer was very personable. He had the stairlift chair installed in less than 2 hours. He clearly explained all aspects of the stairlift chair.

I have mixed feelings about this
I have mixed feelings about this. I liked the job that Tom did in the installation process and that is the only reason I am giving this high rating. It could have been a 10, with the exception of the extremely loud beeping it makes. I understand why you designed this way, but being unable to make the sound undimmable, mutable or able to disconnect and replace with a blinking light makes the unit almost unusable to us, as we would need to use it at all hours of the day and night, and that would be disruptive to some members of the family. That is why I cannot recommend this to anyone,EVER!!!
