Excellent friendly service as usual whether it’s Paul or Sean doing the work all at a good price

New boiler and central heating pump installed. Very happy with the service. At the quote stage Paul was very easy to deal with, knowledgeable and not at all ‘pushy’. Installation was on time as scheduled and Paddy was excellent throughout, happy to answer questions and there was no sense of him rushing. He stayed until he was happy that the system was fully working taking time to balance the radiators and explain the workings of the boiler and thermostat and ensuring everything was clean and tidy before he left. Would recommend and use again. Thanks!

My boiler was working but it was letting an awful lot of water out through the expansion pipe. I had thought it might be the heat exchanger which is under guarantee still but Sean found out that it was the small expansion vessel and the pressure release valve that needed replacing.
It was all fixed same day and the wife is again a happy bunny.

Boiler replacement - I would absolutely recommend Paul and his team. I'd never dealt with Paul before and was put in contact with him through the "boiler guide" website. Right from the off, everyone was super professional. Paul came and looked at the existing boiler, gave an honest assessment of the options, took the time to properly examine the boiler (the only 1 of 4 companies who quoted that actually did) and clearly explained all the various possibilities. The quote was prompt and very reasonable. It was mid-range of the quotes that I received but trust, safety and professionalism were equally important to me and they were the determining factors in the end. Paul also did not ask for any deposit and I liked that as it demonstrated mutual-trust (British Gas who quoted the highest would have wanted an initial payment). The actual job was done in a day and Sean and Jake (the installers) were terrific. The were professional, knowledgeable, answered all my questions and were respectful of my property. Special mention to Sean's experience as an engineer, my kitchen wall was in a poor condition after the old boiler was removed (wear and tear) but he thought of a way to work around it and the installation went fine. It's about a week now since the installation and everything's working well. In a really competitive market I would recommend these guys without hesitation.

We wanted to replace our 25year old (ish) boiler and chose Amersham and Chiltern Heating and Gas Ltd to do the work. Delighted with our brand new Worcester Bosch 24ri which silently purrs away. The team were very professional to deal with and moved the pipework so we could keep the boiler in the kitchen cupboard. They only left once the system was fully balanced and we were happy. Excellent work.

Had a 'Heating Engineer' call to carry out a boiler service. He was only here for 10 minutes when he announced the CO readings were too high and he would need to condem the boiler. A new one would cost £2600. I sought a second opinion from AC Heating. Paul Came to our house and we spoke of the various procedures we could go through as he thought the readings were not so high that an adjustment could not be made, but if not a replacement boiler would be necessary. I received a quotation and went along the route of a boiler service. Shaun attended, cleaned the boiler, replaced some parts, made some adjustments and hey presto a working boiler within recommendations and all for around £100. Thank You AC Heating.

Paul came around to see me and quote for a new boiler in December 2024. As I’ve previously worked for British Gas I knew that Paul knew his stuff and in fact we had both visited and trained at the same location.
I have a big house which required a 40kw boiler and having already done a heat loss calculation this recommendation was spot on. In addition to the boiler I wanted essay access to the different parts of the house and Paul therefore included the Hive system for each of my motorised valves which was set up and even though there is a lot of steel in the house works perfectly.
In late 2023 I was diagnosed with brain cancer and that is why I decided to change my boiler which worked OK but was 13 years old, was a good recognised boiler, Worcester Bosch, but I wanted to be sure that my boiler was both good and that it was fitted properly.
I was contacted by Paul’s wife about setting up an appointment for the service which was done and the boiler has now been serviced which was straight forward and without hiccup.
Previously I have used British Gas for both the supply and servicing of the boiler and they are of course good, Paul is technically as good as them but offers a more friendly service than they do and it’s nice to have a plumber who is local and responsive. His prices were very competitive and his servicing is cheaper than British Gas which is a nice to have especially as Paul is British Gas trained
I suppose it’s like getting the best of both worlds and I am very happy to have made the move to AC Heating.

The is an update on my previous review. Matters are now resolved to my satisfaction. My boiler broke down and I had to get a new one. I wanted a smaller, more approachable company with a better after-sales service than what we would normally get at larger firms. AC's prices were competitive and Paul was very prompt when he first viewed the property and boiler; identified the problem which sadly couldn't be repaired. We settled for an expensive Worcester exceeding £3000 - I couldn't get any interest free payment unfortunately but still went for it because of the 12-year Worcester warranty and also the after-sales service which I was hoping to have. My previous boiler was also a 20-year-old Worcester. I included a power flush at an additional cost to make sure everything will work well. The installation and power flush for a 4 bedroom house which would normally take 6-8 hours, only took around 3-3.5 hours at mine which I found a bit strange. Immediately after installing, I had issues with intermittent cold water running through my taps and showers. Paul came once but couldn't identify the problem. I wanted him to check whether the installation and power flush were done correctly but he assured me it was all fine but the problem persisted. He suggested checking with Worcester which I did. My radiators also started playing up upstairs over the weekend and was cold. I reached out to Paul and he came in on Monday. He correctly assessed it wasn't the boiler but a thermostat issue which he promptly replaced. The heating has been restored.Worcester came in on Tuesday and sorted the intermittent cold showers (I hope!) which was apparently due to a particular setting on the boiler. I'm pleased that as of now, my heating issues have been resolved.

I would definitely recommend AC heating and gas and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I was pleased with the service from start to finish. Our boiler broke in the middle of the freezing weather - Paul responded to my request for a quote straight away and I had the new boiler fitted within just a couple of days. He was the cheapest of three quotes, but I would have still used AC even if this wasn't the case due to how thorough, detailed and transparent Paul was when he came to quote.

Paul installed a new boiler for us (moving it from the ground floor into the loft) a couple of years ago and fitted several radiators at the same time. His work was superb and he is also just a really nice person to have working in your house. He and Nicola are amazing communicators - so much so that he once whatsapped me video links of how to rectify a pressure problem late into an evening - and he recently arranged for a minor leak to be sorted for us just before Christmas within 24 hours of us contacting him. I would recommend him without reservation to anyone.

Paul and Nicola helped us to replace a very old (25+ years) boiler recently. From the first contact they were prompt and nothing was too much trouble. Paul came out to see our existing system and talk me through the options. I appreciated his advice working out what would best suit our house. What was particularly impressive though was how efficiently Paul dealt with some unexpected curveballs as we were moving the boiler location. We discovered some cement board that needed specialist removal and he found someone who could deal with it immediately. Before we even started stressing about it he had a solution. And then he prioritised finalising the boiler installation so we weren’t left waiting, despite the delay being outside his control. When we didn’t understand how to work the new digital thermostat he came back and showed us in person. Five starts all around and we are much warmer now!

So many things are great about Amersham & Chiltern Heating & Gas - the fact that, in my experience, Paul always answers the phone and doesn't leave you to speak to voicemail; they turn up when they say they will and keep you informed of their progress; the costs are reasonable for the quality of the work carried out; the engineer Paddy was friendly, efficient, and professional, as was Paul's colleague Nicola in the office.
