An easy way to change your mortgage with a tracker to guide you along the way. By far this has been the easiest changeover I have done in 30years of mortgages.

Huge regret at having agreed to let Optima handle the legal work for mortage and transfer of equity. Utterly appalling customer service. Negligent handling of what is really a straightforward legal process - all parties except Optima have been ready and willing to complete for weeks, but we are all beholden to their complete inertia. Multiple people picking up and putting down the case, which makes it feel like every week is starting from scratch, and Optima staff tell blatant lies to the parties involved, which unravel immediately when everyone compares notes. It is impossible to sepak to someone directly - they are protected by the switchboard, and calls and messages are not returned.
Feel like we are trapped in an eternal doom loop, and every day wish that I had just appointed a decent lawyer to handle this. Would have been finished a long time ago.
The most frustrating experience I have had in years, and it is costing me large amounts of money every day since current mortgage switched to SVR.

I'm very happy with the service they provided. There were no problems or hold ups. My remortgage took just under five weeks .

I need a simple transfer of equity which I was told takes an average of 6 to 8 weeks to complete.
It has been 6 months now and my mortgage offer will expire and it is no closer to completion.
Documents like redemption statements keep expiring and new ones need requesting as they are not then doing anything with them.
Customer service has been shocking throughout, constantly being told that they will chase things and still nothing happens months down the line.
I have also received inaccurate and contradictory information from different advisors.
Overall it has been an incredibly stressful and traumatic experience with no sign of completion.

Would be 0* if that was possible.

Unacceptable delays reviewing documents (10+ days). Wrong or incomplete documents requested. Extremely poor communication. Impossible to speak to anyone other than general customer services, no one who actually has a clue about anything. No escalation process or urgency in handling delayed (by their incompetence) or urgent cases. Staff actively avoiding speaking to clients, hanging up or disconnecting. Completely mishandling my case costing me a lot of money. Unless there are significant improvements and compensation I will be taking this to the ombudsman.

The service was timely and efficient and made very easy

Awful experience. Optima legal started my remortgage and deeds change at the beginning of April, 7 months later and I am still waiting. The portal is good for uploading documents, however it is the only way I could make contact and have on occasion waited almost 2 weeks for a response from them. In the future I would change to a different mortgage to avoid using this company.

This is my second review. If you are considering them as part of free solicitor from your mortgage provider, stay away. Have suffered and want to highlight the delays they cause which lead to 1000s of £s extra.

Not a very user friendly portal. When you have a question that doesn't allign with the available options/answers, there is nothing else you can do? If you call the telephone number provided, you will unfortunately have to interact with AI Bots. In my case, a number of questions remained unanswered. It was a relief to get a phone call from a human towards the end of the process to confirm everything was ok.

We started our remortgage process in early July, but the company has been very slow in providing the full list of required documents and updates on the progress of the process. We had to chase them several times, and despite their confirmation that they had received all the required documents for the remortgage, they came back at the last minute requesting additional documents. This caused delays and meant that we were unable to complete the remortgage by the expected completion date.

Excellent service from start to finish. The whole process was smooth and straightforward. The online portal was particularly good, making it easy to view the documents, track the progress and keep everything organised. Communication was excellent.

Excellent communication and guidance

Optima Legal failed to complete my re-mortgage within the specified timeframe set, and as a result have cost me thousands of pounds because ultimately I had to go elsewhere and accept a higher interest rate at the last minute.
I applied for my re-mortgage six months in advance of the required deadline, with the bank approving the mortgage quite soon after and directing me to Optima Legal.
This should be more than enough time to complete the required checks and paperwork, however their severe delays at each stage meant that they were nowhere near completion with the final week to go.
They took a month to complete simple AML checks, which their own adviser on the phone said should take no more than 48 hours.
Their communication was very poor at each stage, and after having suffered financially from this, when I raised a complaint with them, they failed to do anything about it and simply closed my file with no further communication.
