Can't fault at all

Can't fault at all. Optima made the whole remortgaging process so easy. Everything we needed was done wiper fast and they were let up know progress and what they needed all the way...the online portal was so good to use. Can't fault and would always use them again. Highly recommend.

my husband and I are separating and as part of this process he has bought me out of our house and just need to transfer the house into his name solely.

You would think this would be a simple process but no! My ex husband started this process In January to allow me to move out and by my own place and as of today (22nd April) this still has yet to happen. From the start optima legal were adamant that they needed our divorce court order for the transfer of deeds to happen. My ex and I are In the 20 week wait still and no where near obtaining a finalized court order. To me and everyone else I got advice from, including my solicitor and a family/ divorce lawyer this didn't make sense and had said this was wrong. When I rang optima legal asking them to explain why they needed this, they told me they cannot answer as I was not the customer. After months, they randomly contacted my ex husband and said they're wrong, and that they just need a completed and signed TR1 form. This whole process of getting myself removed from the deeds has delayed the process of completion on the house I'm buying for me and my daughter by months unnecessarily purely from Optima Legal's incompetency. I have since spoken to them on the phone (they were able to answer my questions this time) and have said that when they receive the completed TR1 form, it's still going to take them 2 and a half weeks just to process and finalise it!! This company is beyond appalling and has left me feeling constant stress which is now affecting me day to day at an already stressful time.

Absolutely faultless service

Absolutely faultless service! Started and completed in 2 weeks! Optima legal was chosen by NatWest we had no input into who was chosen for the legal side of things. I did look at reviews after I found out who NatWest had chosen. The reviews didn't fill me with confidence they were very bad !

They only thing I can think is taking other people so long is unnecessary delays with the customer uploading the relevant information?. We got our mortgage in principle on the 8th April and completed today and funds received. In between that period we had a valuation, got the redemption figure and sorted the new deeds. The online portal is fantastic, I did struggle to get access initially but one phonecall and it was sorted.

Don't let the reviews put you off if you have all your nessecery info before starting the application it should be plain sailing. I will add we used a broker so that made the admin side of it less stressful and it was a remortgage not a new mortgage. Optima really made what could be a stressful situation totally stress free

We are extremely disappointed with the…

We are extremely disappointed with the service provided during our remortgage process. We are currently working within a very tight 30-day completion window with another lender, and due to repeated errors and delays on their side, the process has now been delayed by over 10 days.

Initially, they were unable to request a required document from the bank. As soon as we became aware, we contacted the bank ourselves and also chased them multiple times, at which point we were told the document would be requested by email. However, a week later we received the same email again stating that the document had still not been obtained. When we called again that same day, it was finally resolved immediately, which shows the issue could have been handled much earlier, avoiding unnecessary delay.

Subsequently, another error was made regarding the Help to Buy repayment documentation. A wrong date was entered from a previous document, requiring a correction. We have now been waiting for this to be amended for three days.

Despite multiple follow-ups, this issue is still unresolved. We have contacted them at least four times regarding this specific error, and each call involves significant waiting times of 30 minutes to over an hour and a half. This has not only affected our personal time but also our working hours, as we have had to make these calls during the working day.

Due to these repeated delays and administrative mistakes, we are now at serious risk of missing our completion deadline and may incur daily interest charges as a result.

Overall, we are very dissatisfied with the level of service, lack of urgency, and poor communication throughout this process.

Poor communication

Because we had no direct way to reach the case worker and could only leave messages that took several days to get a reply, our completion was delayed by 10 days, costing us an additional £500.
