Was with this bank for a few years all…

Was with this bank for a few years all was well until I can't login online with my passwords I get "We have sent a code to your mobile number please enter it here to gain access."
I have not had a mobile phone for at least seven months, I see no use for one at all, I am 78 years old, I gave it up.
Now this bank comes up with all this claptrap that it is to protect your account!
I tried over the next three weeks or so to gain access to my account online with the same result every time.
I got a balance from another bank alright, until my Debit Card was "Declined".
I was declined at the supermarket and the local coffee shop as well. There was plenty of money in the bank about £3,000 or so.
I went to the bank which is three miles away to enquire what is happening and I was told "You MUST have a mobile phone to do online banking!"
I refused to have a mobile phone just for them - they were not going to pay the cost of running it!
I said I want to close the account right now, I will not be dictated to to by anyone. I got all my cash out in a folder and left for good.
Not recommended.

If it is not one thing, it's another!
I have tried to logon to online banking and I get the error message that my details I have entered are not correct and try again.
I have been trying this for the last week and no improvement, so I wrote a letter to the CEO of Santander to address the problem.
After nearly a week it has not corrected - I am still locked out!
I do have a account with Metro Bank as well, I am thinking of taking ALL my money out of an ATM and putting the money there - do you blame me?

Further to my other missive about…

Further to my other missive about trying to set up a new payment ( which was to be money to send to my Metro Bank Account), the fix that the I.T. department put in when I could not send money out of my account - now actually works!!
So, if you get any error messages just write to the head office and they will look into it, don't bother with customer service - they have no access to the servers anyway, you want the main guys at the server end.

I tried setting up a New Payment to…

I tried setting up a New Payment to myself at the Metro Bank (which I have an account with also) and I use Opera browser all the time, but the problem was I got an error message saying that the service was not available.
I tried again some days later and got the same message in all I think I tried 5 times and still the same error message.
I WROTE a first class letter to the CEO and got a phone call from their complaints department who had contacted the I.T. department about it.
I was asked to try again and give screen shots of the error message, which i did.
Next day I got a phone call from the complaints department asking what browser did you use?
I said it was Opera browser because it has a built in free VPN facility to obscure my tracks across the internet.
I was told to try Internet Explore or another browser instead. So I tried Internet Explorer and then I tried Firefox browser. Both gave error messages and I could not continue.
I gave them the error messages I got.
I was told not to use Opera browser and use instead Internet Explorer or Firefox and the I.T. department will fix the proble with those two. Wait for a message through your online banking portal soon for further instructions. It's been two hours since the last call from the bank and I await their reply in my messages folder and will keep you informed as to what happens next.
Stand by for my next message.

PASSCODE - As I have written before about the…

As I have written before about the "Passcode" with eight numbers you have to get via your mobile phone to be able to login online - I wrote before to the CEO Daniel Frumkin about this and apparently - nothing happened - I was not able to login for the last two weeks since they instigated this "Passcode", well surprise, surprise my efforts did not get ignore.
Yesterday Mr. Frumkin would have got my letter giving the source code of the "Passcode" page with my annotations to it and asked about this code. I said it would never work!
Today I am able to get a "Passcode" to my mobile phone within SECONDS to be able to put that code in the login screen online - and it worked! I am now able to see my balances again!
Persistence it seems- pays off!

I have finished with Amazon!
I have tried repeatedly to login to my account and all I get is obstruction after obstruction. I keep getting "an unknown" account holder notice when I try to login and have to confirm by mobile phone I am who I say I am. It seemingly does not work! Many times I have tried and even sent a reply to an email querying whether it was me trying to login - the email comes back because the email address I am sending it back to does not accept emails!!!
I will not be using Amazon.co.uk ever again - I am finished with them.
I get better service and no obstruction when I use Ebay.co.uk instead - I will keep buying from them instead.

Will Be Taking This Bank To Financial Services Ombudsman...

Several times I have written to CEO Daniel Frumkin about the "Passode" integration on the online banking site which has never worked and he does not seem to do anything about it.
I have now sent him a letter to resolve the matter or I will be taking his bank to the Financial Services Ombudsman.
As a blogger of old I will also give a very wide notice to many of the several financial news sites in the UK and elsewhere if necessary. Metro Bank should be aware that share price is dependent on investors investing in a stable company and as many share prices have already collapsed elsewhere, it may well be the turn of Metro sooner than Frumkin expects!

STILL NO "PASSCODE" TO MY PHONE...

For the last 4 weeks I have not been able to view my personal account online because of the "passcode" Metro have introduced that just does not work!
I receive no "passcode" to my mobile number at all and if I click on "RESEND" - it does not do anything.
When will Metro hierarchy start to notice the shockingly bad reviews on Trustpilot, are they blind or don't they care about customers?
I see more customers in a long queue in the Guildford North Road for Barclays bank, I counted 23 people in the queue and No One inside Metro Bank 50 yards away and no staff behind the counter either! When will they wake up at One Southampton Row??

"Passcode"… NOT WORKING FOR ONLINE BANKING

They have instituted a "Passcode" system to logon to online banking -IT DOES NOT WORK!

I have written to Daniel Frumkin the CEO at One Southampton Row in London about it and still no movement at all as though he may be on furlough himself.

I tried the "RESEND CODE" button but that does not work at all.

How am I supposed to do online banking when the system is broken????

As my previous entry, this "service" is not fit for purpose. All these 4 star reviews are put on by the staff, as in many other instances too, it's about time TrustPilot got rid of allowing 4-5 star entries and concentrate on the nitty gritty of these companies and have only complaints allowed so everyone knows much about the company and how it operates.
The clueless "Support" say just do this and just do that and everything will be alright, if they have a useless configuration of server NOTHING is going to be alright.
They have not got my payment, it is still with Paypal, and I will be getting that back. Meanwhile they have been told from Paypal of the REFUND request but they ignore such things to hang it out for a while hoping they are going to get lucky and keep the money - they most certainly will not!
ONE.COM should do as requested now and REFUND and CANCEL both domain and website purchase for they are going nowhere ignoring the request from Paypal!

I just signed up for domain name and…

I just signed up for domain name and hosting, I wish I had not!
I have never seen such a awkward site as this to enable the installation of a Wordpress and plugins. It does not install properly and error message after error message later I give up.
I have requested a full refund from Paypal.
I don't even think the server has SSL, which today is essential to be listed in Google.

I Found Acorn Insurance On A Comparison Site...

Acorn were found on a comparison site and one of the lowest quotes going I could not believe! Well now I know why.

They pass you to a Gibraltar company called Haven Insurance. If you don't know Gibraltar is 'Foreign' and a tax haven with zero taxes and no vat either. doing a Google search I find that so many "insurance" companies have been busted for scams there. I don't think you are covered for insurance for your car by a 'foreign' insurance company!

It must be a British company if you are domiciled in Britain or it is not legal insurance. I believe.

I would not answer any more questions on the several phone calls to me by "Acorn" and they cancelled the policy. I requested my initial money back - and I got it back less £20! ( I threatened to take them to court immediately if I did not get a refund!)

Make sure that the insurance company is registered on a Loyds Syndicate in London or your insurance may be invalid.
