Zywave relies upon evergreen contract to keep clients
Zywave relies upon evergreen contract to keep clients. Much of what they have historically provided has been made obsolete by AI. They are like the newspaper trying to survive in paper form. I requested cancelation of the service after several years of non-use by my clients, even after repeatedly encouraging them to use it. But since I requested cancelation with 56 days notice, they are not “allowing” me to cancel. IF I fail to pay the monthly bill, the entire annual amount comes due per the contract. I pointed to the fact that they did not offer me a written reminder of the upcoming renewal, which would have spurred me to timely action, a timely termination. I quoted the new FTC business to business best practices and amended rules, which requires notice before from evergreen renewals. They pointed to my agreement on day one to a 60 day written notice BY ME to terminate the EVERGREEN renewal. Exactly what the FTC sought to protect from. I gave them 56 days notice, therefore I am signed up for another year. If that wasn’t shameful enough behavior, without notice or discussion, they have increased my fees this year by 5 ½ %, so I will pay more for the service for one year, that I tried to terminate. The annual cost of the service is about what it would cost to hire an attorney, so I will probably pay for it. PS – I wrote to the CEO and asked for him to release me from the contract but I have not heard from him.
