’m not being paid for this is just my honest opinion but i just got my Zager Zad50CE Vintage Sunburst ~ it’s an absolutely beautiful instrument and sounds equally as good. Awesome!

The craftsmanship is top notch. The wood selection is great and inlays are stunning.
What they say about “easy play” is definitely correct. It’s setup perfectly and you’ll find yourself playing longer without the pain.

I can now officially say that there’s only two types of acoustic guitar players.
Those that have a Zager, and those that need one.
Get one, you won’t be disappointed!

A beautiful, well-made guitar with easy playability and great sound, I highly recommend Zager guitars. My guitar is over 20 years old, looks like new and sounds better as rime goes by.

Terrible customer service!
I ordered a travel size guitar in June 2024, I realized that the guitar was backordered when I ordered and at that time it was going to be shipped out in July 2024 but as of September 6, 2024 they had not shipped my order. When I contacted Zager (which at times no one would respond) or I would get an email stating that my order was being expedited. There was no date as to when my order would ship, and my order status on their website showed that it was ready and on its way to me but no tracking number was provided. After waiting through the month of July, I called the first week of August and after leaving an exasperated message for someone to please explain what is going on, I received a phone call letting me know parts for the guitar was backordered so the guitar would not be shipped until the end of August. I decided to wait. I called August 26, (a Monday) and spoke to a woman asking if my order would be shipped soon, she said my guitar would ship this week. On August 30th (a Friday) still no shipping information or communication. I called on August 30, and was able to speak to a gentlemen who explained that it would probably be another 2 to 3 weeks. I decided enough was enough and called back and requested a refund, the woman I spoke to said my refund would take 3 to 5 days but as September 6 no refund was processed to my credit card. I called Zager again and left a message asking why a refund had not been processed, I received a call back stating that they will process a refund but it will take 1 to 3 days. Not trusting what she said, I contacted my credit card company and started a claim against Zager. It was obvious that my orginial request for a refund had not been done August 30.
I was a returning customer after purchasing a guitar last year with Zager and at THAT time it took several calls to get my guitar to ship but I finally recieved it. Too bad Zager treats their customers this way, they make beautiful guitars, but I not be purchasing any more guitars from Zager, it's just not worth the headache!!

I'm an ordained Southern Baptist Pastor who always enjoys singing those favorite hymns while playing guitar with it. Historically speaking, I've purchased, owned, and played with many other brand name guitars in the past. However, recently I've purchased the one of Zager's Mahogany 50 series ZAD900 from Zager Guitars. It definitely and truly has the brighter, richer and deeper sound from it than any other guitars that I've previously owned and played with all my favorite hymns. Therefore, I'd give my thumps up on Zager Guitars. 👍

I own an 11 guitar collection and am a regularly working entertainer. The top two guitars in my collection are my ZAD900E 50th Anniversary Sunburst with Aura Pro pickup and my ZAD50. The 50 is my primary practice & rehearsal guitar with my 900E being my primary show instrument. Both play easily and have excellent sound. The workmanship is top notch and the Zager guitar strings last longer than any brand I’ve used.

I recently ordered travel guitar from Denny Zager Guitars for my 8 year old to learn on. It's small compact size of 36" inches in length will be perfect for his small hands. He always expressed interesting playing when I pick my guitars up to play. But because of the full size of my guitars and neck size he has trouble making chords. A friend of mine owns a Zager that he let me play one time and I loved the fret board action on it! It was so easy to pay and very easy on the fingers! That is the first thing I thought of when thinking about getting him a guitar to learn on. So I searched Zager guitars site looking for a Parlor sized guitar. They did have one, but the one that caught my eye was the Travel size guitar which is 2"less in length than the Parlor size model!! It's not only the fret board action and ease of play, but the tone of these guitars are phenomenal!!! This is the reason I settled on purchasing this model guitar as my son's first learner guitar! The sound and the quality of these guitars is incredible and I think he won't only like it, but it will last him a very long time!!!

About 18 months ago I bought a Zager ZAD80. Our of the box I found it easier to play than my enter level Yamaha and to have a great sound. I don’t know much about the niceties of good set up or design feature but was and remains easier to play. For what it is worth, my guitar teacher agrees and think the guitar was a good value.

I want to share this with all who believe support and customer service are what seperates good from great experiences when something unexpected happens. I purchase a top end guitar from the Zager family comany. I had an issue with the jack on the guitatr. I was going to simply send it back. But this company went the extra 5 miles to to keep a customer. This was a game changer for me. This is a family company that care about you!
"I went ahead and did the repairs on the guitar. It was not so much I couldn't, I initially felt I should not have to. Even though you were willing to pay for a local shop to do this rather simple task. Maybe a little frustration, maybe a bit of pride got in the way. I know I said I was going to return it and I was. After the level of customer service, you and your company have demonstrated. I feel you have your customers back and will support us as we move forward. I have spent about 25 years in the people business. What your company stands for is becoming rare and very impressive and deserve to be acknowledged and also supported where we can. So, you can gather that I will change my mind and keep the guitar after all".

My ZAD900CE arrived yesterday, and I absolutely could not be more excited!
I was concerned that the playability might be only minimally different than my $2,600 Alvarez and really wondered about the tone quality being that much better. I was blown away by both. I'm a intermediate beginner stage nearly 70 year old and have always had a hard time with hammer-ons. The intro to Sweet Home Alabama has been eating my lunch because of the hammer-ons. The first time I picked up my new Zager, I played it nearly perfectly. So exciting! It is much more playable and much richer-toned than my Alvarez. I LOVE THIS GUITAR!!
THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT.

Today my Zager ZAD900CE tobacco Sunburst guitar arrived via Fedex. The first thing I observed was that the shipping box was in perfect condition with no tears, dings other signs of damage. I opened the carton to find that the guitar was sealed in a plastic bag. Upon opening the bag I noticed the quality of the case which seemed to be of good quality. In opening the guitars case I was hit with the aroma that any of us that buys new guitars has come to appreciate. My eyes scanned over the guitar sitting in its case and saw that the surface finish was immaculate and pleasing to my eyes. I removed the guitar and inspects the sides and back and found no flaws. I then checked the tuning and found it to be almost in perfect tune. Not bad for a guitar that has spent the last week traveling to my home in NH. After tuning it up with the built in tuner I struck one of my favorite chords the E chord. It sounded vibrant and alive, Much more so than my Taylor 814CE and a little more than my PRS acoustics. I then went through the accessory package and found all the goodies including a Zager T-shirt and autographed promo pic of Zager and Evans..Plus a thank you note from Denny Zager. So now with my spirits at a peak I brought it into my spare room and plugged it into my Fishman Loudbox Mini amp. I was not disappointed with the tone at all. from the bass to the treble it rang out loud and clear. The string pressure and frets were easy on my fingers. I played it for an hour or two before wiping it down and casing it up. I paid $1995. for this guitar and already like the quality of the sound and fit and finish of it. Owner of the ZAD900-12 string. Upon receiving, had my technician check it out. Advised to send back as the frett work(Denny claims he personally performs this, among others)was bad. Fretts were uneven, crown was inconsistent, action unplayable and not all polished. After $215(payed $2595) and installing DiAdario 9-45 strings, I now have a very good sounding and very playable 12 string. Unfortunately, when I first contacted the company, I was asked to return it. I asked if they could guarantee the next one would live up to their claims. When no answer was forthcoming, I decided to let my technician have a try. He did a real frett job, leveling, crowned and polished. Zager has never responded nor offered to reimburse me. I've done a lot of research since.
1. Zager, besides their Nebraska address, has an address in California and one in Nevada. 2. They never claim made in America, but imply it.
3. They wouldn't confirm their claims of Denny Sr. personally building this model (ZAD900-12) from start to finish in Nebraska. It would seem to me, implying, made in America and I built this would be a factual claim. Unfortunately, it is not. I have all the emails and information as to their other locations, etc.

I just wanted to say I am enjoying the ZAD900CE OM so far, that I ordered from you a few weeks ago or so and received. I am a beginner on the guitar and I have been taking some lessons since about February with my Mitchell I have as well. Now I am learning with the guitar I ordered from you an enjoying it and I am looking at the lessons you have as well, that was included with my guitar.

When I first saw the ads for Zager guitars I thought they were way over priced but I was intrigued by the thought of “easy play” and kept going back to look. I did extensive research on the company, their guitars and went to countless other sites to see what people said about the guitars. After several months of looking and talking about it, I finally pulled the trigger and bought what I wanted at a price I was looking for and thought that worst case, I could always send it back. When it arrived I could tell the first time I held it that the quality was light years beyond the “cheap” guitar I had been playing for the last four months. I have been playing the Zager for just over a week now and my other guitar is sitting in the corner gathering dust. I love playing guitar and everything they said about “easy play” and the sound is absolutely true! On top of the quality build and impressive sound and the extra spacing helping with my often clunky chords, I have learned so much from the videos and their web site that it is hard for me to believe how ignorant I had been before I bought this guitar. I have gone from a skeptic to an ambassador for Zager and talk constantly about how much fun it is to learn and grow with a high quality instrument.

Hello fellow guitar enthusiasts, Jeff from Southwest Colorado here.

I own a 2018 Martin OMC-28E and a 2020 Martin SC-13E, both purchased prior to my knowledge of Zager Guitars.

Both guitars were purchased new by me and if I had it to do over again, I would have purchased the ZAD900CE Spruce/Rosewood Acoustic Electric over the OMC-28E.

Almost $1,000.00 more for the Martin without a case (in 2018) than a new 900 series in 2024. That gets your attention.

I am not in a position where I can buy another guitar and my wife would more than likely shoot me if I could - but boy, if I could, I would - in a heartbeat.

What also gets my attention is the exceptionally refined look of the 900 - just the right amount of bling trim - nothing as what I consider "gawdy" as on the Martin 45 series yet more subtlety stated than the 28 series. Extremely pleasing to the eye.

Now what really commanded my focus is that if for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase, you can send it back for a full refund, no questions asked AND it includes return shipping costs. When my OMC went south with neck issues, it was all I could do to get Martin to talk to me on the phone, much less offer any sort of reasonable response or even utter the words "return". That happened right after I bought the SC. Never again with that company. It sits in a closet, sad & alone and unplayable. Money down the drain.

Honestly, I have never played a Zager guitar (& in my particular case, using the word "playing" is probably a stretch - I manage to keep myself amused, but I am still learning how). I have read a lot recently how easily these things play. My old hands have difficulty with my SC and the OMC is unplayable above the 8th fret - another reason to kick myself in the pants - I should have tried a Zager.

Lastly, I have surfed on Reverb; these things hold their value much better than recently purchased Martins and I don't have 50 years left to wait to see if mine will go up in value.

This is a real review from a real old man who likes to play guitar - no bs about it and from what I see on the reviews of Zager, I'm not alone in that opinion - those reviews are from folks who have actually played one.

Ok, I know nothing about guitars, but I wrote a thank you email to Zager and they replied within a couple of minutes thanking me and asking me to write a review because I guess some think they’re fake. I’m not fake. My kid had a $100 guitar he bought with a carry case online. It twanged and hurt his fingers but he kept up and I thought he was pretty good. Something was missing but I didn’t know what. That guitar broke and I bought him this gorgeous electric guitar. He didn’t like it, he wanted acoustic. He wasn’t playing and it really bothered me (not that I wanted to hear Free Falling again), so I decided to get him an acoustic. As I said, I know nothing. I didn’t know that Martin and Taylor’s were the top of the food chain for acoustic. I saw an ad on YouTube for Zager so I read the site and was kind of bummed to see how expensive they were. I was watching reviews and this guy pulled out this Martin from like 70 years ago that costs a ridiculous amount and he played that and a Zager into a computer that compared the wave lengths and yes, the Martin was superior, but no way could I ever buy THAT guitar. I wound up buying him the parlor one. Long story (shorter than it could be), he loved it. They sent this hard case with temperature and humidity gauges and strings and just a bunch of stuff. The kid was nearly in tears he was so excited. He plays it constantly and says he doesn’t have to stop unless he wants to. It beautiful looking, but gorgeous sounding! He has everyone wanting to hear him now which is a validation he struggles to get some times. He knows he sounds great. I can’t tell you why, but this guitar seems to have no real twang, it just sounds gorgeous. If you’re researching for yourself, I’m sorry I can’t tell you much, but if you’re contemplating buying one of these as a gift, just do it! This guitar is amazing!

I bought a Zager Guitar for my husband's birthday! He said it’s beautiful!!!! He got teary eyed and chills. He said if he saw it in a store hanging on the wall he would have picked it. He said it sounds really good and loves how the neck feels in his hand and likes the strings being lower and the quality of the strings. He loves everything about it. He said it has a really good sound! The ordering process was easy and any questions I had were quickly responded to. The customer service was excellent! A lot of extras came with it. The shirt was a surprise to both of us. We highly recommend Zager Guitars!

Zager Guitars is an excellent company to order from. They respond to emails quickly. I ordered the ZAD50CE OM model and am very pleased with the workmanship and quality of the guitar. I have played guitar for over 56 years. I finger pick and the sound is great in both the treble and the bass. It rings out when you strum. It is a joy to play!

I was thrilled to received my Zager guitar. It is nice and I have enjoyed playing. I would recommend Zager guitars to anyone looking for a a good guitar. It is well made and easy to play!
