I used Your Money Claim in connection with a motor finance commission complaint. My experience ultimately became a dispute about the charges they said were payable when I cancelled their service.

After I cancelled, I was invoiced £180 for what they described as reasonable costs under their Terms of Engagement.

I disputed the charge and asked them to provide evidence showing how it had been calculated. There was then considerable correspondence between us. Among the documents subsequently provided was a time record which described itself as having been “reconstructed from supplied CRM activity log”. It attributed just over five hours to various activities carried out over the life of my case.

I did not consider this sufficient to resolve my concerns about the charge and continued to dispute my liability.

I subsequently received an email saying that a further £60 would be charged for a “comprehensive investigation” into my circumstances unless I paid or agreed a payment arrangement.

The matter was then taken to the County Court. The Particulars of Claim sought the original £180 plus £128 in additional costs, making £308, together with the £50 court fee.

Unfortunately, I missed the deadline for responding to the court claim and a judgment in default was entered against me. This is important: the court did not determine the merits of my dispute following a contested hearing. I have now paid the £358 judgment in full rather than incur the cost and time involved in applying to have the default judgment set aside and then defending the underlying claim.

My experience therefore left me paying £358 following the cancellation of a service relating to a compensation claim, despite having disputed the charges and their calculation before proceedings were issued.

Prospective customers can draw their own conclusions. My advice would simply be to read the cancellation and charging provisions in the Terms of Engagement extremely carefully before signing, understand what costs may become payable if you later cancel, and respond immediately to any court paperwork if a dispute develops.

Based on my experience, I would not use Your Money Claim again.

Would definitely NOT recommend this company. Done a PPI claim through them and disputed the large fees they were trying to charge me so I refused to pay them. They took me to court for just over £300 which turned into over £500 with court costs and also weekly interest. I’m disabled so I have to pay it up monthly I also have mental health problems and dealing with this company has been very difficult on my mental health with constant demands through emails for payment threatening even more court action and also threatening to charge me £240 for a trace investigation when I’m late with payment. This has been a totally horrible experience for myself and I’ve been so stressed with the situation. I’ve never been so stressed with a company in my life so I personally would not recommend them especially if you are a vulnerable person.

I would also like to state that this review is my personal experience as I’m allowed to with freedom of speech in this country. I have been threatened to take down my previous review with court action from this company so beware.

Great communication throughout, it was hassle free and I am satisfied with the results. Would recommend

Avoid , if you change your mind like I did and decide you don’t want to go a head with a claim , they will take you to court and end up with a ccj and a court bill of £380 ?

Excellent service from them fast & efficient service

sent me a spam email and text message out of the blue. This is intrusive.

They managed to get me compensation on a claim. Dealt with it quickly, professional and efficient.

I started to fill out the forms online and I realise that as I was living abroad, it was probably not the best idea to have them represent me.
I sent an email to say I didnt want them to represent and that I had changed my mind.
They then charged me for following through with them, and took me to court and made a claim for £600 in costs and applied for a ccj

they have now sent an email to say they will pursue the money at an extra cost of £240.00. all because I didn't want them to represent me.

I live abroad in a 3rd world country and lots of things are difficult to do here.
I feel the need to get a solicitor to represent me as this just seems unnecessary the latest email I received was today 4/4/2023

After looking at the response from I can clearly see they have no intention of helping in me…my English mobile is no longer being used and neither has any letters been received by me or my family that I know of. And your money claim can clearly see I have nothing to gain by backing out.

I had to ask at least twice for confirmation of the rules involved and by then they have already taken me to court like they did last time…getting £600 out me
back in 2019 when I asked about the reasons why the money they won was taxed which delayed me paying the fee.

It seems this company will do anything to make money out of vulnerable people.

So I now have two ccj’s because of their unnecessary trips to the small claims court. I will be writing my own article on this which will fact based or get my solicitor to look at this.

Good service, but I’m afraid when it came to paying money claims their fee, they wrote and sent emails none stop, i was on holiday at the time but the email said that i had 14 days to pay, on the same day I received a chq they constantly sent me messages to pay. Ridiculous, will never use them again !!

Charged way to much 50% and none stop hassle never again

Had money claim for missold ppi, left it to them they kept me informed all the way has taken sometime but have come up trumps several times. Now have had all my payouts. Thankyou would have had nothing without them.

This company do not reply to my emails, very good at asking me for money, but then don’t reply to my messages
