I wanted to share my experience after recently having a log burner stove installed by YSF. From the very beginning to the final stages, I was extremely pleased with the quality of service provided. Liam, in particular was very helpful- not only during our visit to the store , but also when they came to do the property survey . Their friendly approach made the entire process feel straightforward . I couldn’t be happier with the outcome .

I've never been keen on writing reviews but I think in the interests of other customers it's probably best to document my experiences.

We purchased a fire from YSF in Summer 2025 and from what i remember the initial agreed installation was moved at late notice - this is fine - these things happen. The rearranged installation date was agreed but unfortunately things have not gone to plan, or satisfaction really since then.

We purchased a Gazco Loft gas fire with a slate for it to sit on. The fire and slate were not installed very well, firstly the slate was put down but then the fire was not installed to meet the centre of the plate.
It's about an inch away from where it should be.
Originally this was covered by the old carpet but since we have had that replaced it is really obvious that the slate has 3 inches of space on one side to the base of the fire and 5 inches on the other. It looks silly. I told the company about this about 4/5 months ago now and they said we would receive a call but we never did.

Then we had a smell of gas coming from the fire which we thought could have perhaps just been the smell that a new installation makes but it turns out it was a gas leak, that we subsequently had to pay for another company to come out and fix that. It was only £90 but you sort of feel that when you pay thousands for something, it should not be leaking gas... and it should be installed to the centre of the slate. I have taken both these matters up with the company, who to be fair are polite about things. They did offer to reimburse the £90, which really I thought was the very least that should happen but I did accept that - however it's been a month since then and the money has not been re-imbursed. It's not really about the money but it should just be about professional courtesy and customer relations especially when it is a high tariff item. I am disappointed as I hope this review shows. I wish I could attach a photo of the installation.

We booked them to repair and clean our chimney and following their advice decided to buy a new stove and while we were at it, again on their recommendation buy a new liner for the chimney. All this was done back in October. On the phone, it was confirmed that the stove was available, due to it being ex-display and that it was merely the fitting that pushed the date into November. A week before the fitting was due we were told that 'there'd been a mix up' and the stove actually wasn't available. Without consultation or the offer of our money back, they went ahead and ordered us a new stove but the kicker being it wont be ready to install until December 10th. The stove arrived and was only partially installed because the two men that brought it didn't have ladders long enough to complete the new chimney liner installation but AGAIN, don't worry someone will be with you on December 16th to complete the job. It's still not connected.

We may have someone with us on Friday, or maybe Saturday or may be any time before Christmas Eve, (hopefully this year). All of this has stemmed from their error but no sense of urgency or basic customer service, so no surprise they have not had the decency to respond to my email.

Top company. Hassle free response to unforseen issues arriving from fitting of wood burner. No fussing and thoroughly professional. Date stated applies to fitting and follow up. 2024-2025. Thank You

Tony and Adam fitted our new stove over two days. They opened up the fireplace, laid a new hearth and fitted the stove. Great work, balancing out all the unevenness in our old house to make it look symmetric and centred. It looks great! They kept me informed throughout and put up with me wanting things moved a few mm. Highly recommended.

YSF just supplied and fitted my mum’s new multi fuel stove. Have the say the service was great from start to finish. Ordering and setting up finance was easy thanks to regular communication from the sales team, and the fitters (Tony and Adam) were absolutely great which is important when going to peoples homes. They were friendly, knowledgable, respectful and did a fab job of fitting the fire as well as advising us on usage. Would deffo use again!

Fantastic service from the first phone call to the installation that deserves 5 stars, Tony and Adam carried out the fitting of our new log burner, they were very courteous and professional throughout, I can highly recommend YSF if your thinking of getting a new stove etc

We are returning customers, having had great service from YSF over 10 years ago.

We were wanting to change our fire from electric to gas. We visited the YSF showroom and were given clear advice about our options. There was no pressure to buy, just great customer service.

The survey was booked in and that went smoothly. The order was placed, appointments booked, deposit paid.

Our precast chimney isn’t suitable for a gas fire, which we knew from previous experience, so we needed to have a balanced flue installed as part of the fitting.

On the installation day, Tony and Adam did a great job in freezing temperatures outside. Their technical skills were matched with great customer service. It was a pleasure to have had our work carried out by such great people.

From start to finish, our experiences of YSF have been first class.

Just a quick review to say a big thank you to Tom & Jimmy for the professional way they installed our log burner last Tuesday. From the minute they arrived they were polite and respectful of our property and the installation was very smooth. I would fully recommend this company if anyone was thinking of using them.

Brilliant communication from the first email I sent. The customer service was excellent all the way through with questions answered quickly. Our stove fitters Tony and Adam did a great job too and we’re very happy with the end result.

Just had a false chimney breast with electric fire fitted. Showroom was great and had everything we needed to see our options. Order and survey were very straightforward. Taken out the 12 month interest free option. All very easy. Fitting took 1 day from start to finish. Tony and Adam were the fitters and were absolutely brilliant. Very professional and personable, couldn’t be more helpful. Arrived on time and worked hard. Afterwards the fireplace looks fantastic and all neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely brilliant company everything was so easy from start to finish and had 2 lovely guys come and install Tony and Jamie absolute delight they were what a great asset to your business thanks again love my stove and yes I’ve got it on even though it’s 20 degrees outside lol

Had a stove fit on friday and would like to say it was a fantastic service from start to finish. They came and left a quote which was explained it full what would happen and answered all the questions that followed. On the day of the fitting two men turn up on time, Tony and Jimmy work all day they were both very helpful pleasant and didn't stop, when the stove was fitted they did a full clean down and showed how to use the stove correctly. Have to say great service and a great set of guys. Thanks for the job

Recently had a log burning stove fitted and we’re really happy with the whole process and end result. The staff in store were happy to answer our many questions and Adam the installer did an amazing job of knocking out the opening and installing the stove, hearth and surround. I was expecting a lot of mess but they cleaned up really well and neatly bagged up all the rubble and waste. I would highly recommend them

Booked for log burner and fire surround to be fitted 30/6/22 they told me it would take 2 days
They came on Monday but the fire surround hadn’t been made they got part of it on the Monday afternoon but said the rest wouldn’t be ready until dinner time Wednesday I had to cancel appointments I had booked for Wednesday afternoon
The came with the surround but not enough staff had been booked to finish the job and the two fitters couldn‘t lift the mantle to finish the job no other staff to help. They said they have given staff holiday this week! So why book in a big job and then give staff leave?
I have left messages and I’m waiting for when they can come back but I’m back at work next week and the company don’t know when they will have enough staff to finish the job.
The fitter was very good no complaints about them just the organisation of booking job.
