Zen Educate Omdömen 

So far my experience with Zen Education has been nothing but great.

Working with Zen Educate has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my professional and personal life. It has given me the opportunity to work with young children, and this experience has awakened in me an even deeper sense of care, patience, responsibility and genuine commitment to supporting them as they grow and learn.

What makes this experience so special is that it is not simply about going to work. I genuinely care about creating a positive experience for both the pupils and the teachers I work alongside. I want the children to feel safe, supported, listened to and valued, while also contributing positively to the classroom and supporting the teaching team in every way I can.

The hours seem to pass without me even noticing. I often find myself wishing I had more time with the children to talk with them, learn about their interests, understand their personalities, share moments with them and discover the world through their eyes. Every day is different, and I try to appreciate every moment because even the smallest interaction can become meaningful.

For me, it has become much more than a job it is an experience that leaves something meaningful with me every day.

Great experience overall. They were super helpful in explaining the steps and what I needed to do.

They helped me find such a great job near me and I'm super excited to get started!

Update as of 21/8/26: Ucheck the people who zen educate get the dbs checks from just refunded me the money, meaning that Zen Educate never processed or completed my DBS at all. Please don’t bother going with these people.

Recently signed up. They took my money for the DBS in May this year and I’ve heard crickets. I’ve phoned three times to ask them to remove two of my old references that aren’t needed and nothing as for some reason you can’t do it yourself on the app.

Someone co reacted me 2 weeks about with a general “I’ll be helping you with finishing your profile and getting your dbs done and I’ll call and email you soon” since then, no email. Nothing. I’m signing up with another agency because these people are so slow and take your money and don’t reply to emails. I’ve emailed hundreds of times and nada.

I have had a really positive experience working with Zen Educate and especially with Arnav who has been amazing kind and supportive throughout my time with the agency.

As this is the first agency I have ever worked with I was not sure what to expect at first. Arnav has always been there to mentor me answer my questions and help me feel more confident in myself and my abilities. He has always been professional approachable and genuinely supportive which has made such a difference to me.

As a mum of two I really appreciate the opportunity to work school hours. I have one child starting school himself in September and a little one starting nursery so I understand how important it is for parents to have flexibility while still being able to work and build a career.

I genuinely enjoy working in schools and treating every child as if they were my own. I always want to make sure every child feels supported happy and has a good day. I love knowing that I can make a positive impact on children through the work that I do.

Through Zen Educate Arnav has always made me feel supported and valued. I am very grateful for the opportunities he has given me and for all the encouragement and guidance he has provided.

Looking ahead I do hope that in the future I can have the opportunity to work somewhere a little closer to home and find a school that gives me a fair and stable opportunity. I also hope that future placements can be more consistent and that I am not taken off a placement without a valid reason. As a mum of two having some stability and security is very important to me.

Overall I am very thankful for my experience with Zen Educate so far. Arnav has been amazing kind and professional and I really appreciate all the support and mentoring he has given me. I hope to continue developing through the opportunities Zen Educate provides and most importantly continue doing work that allows me to make a positive difference in children’s lives.

I paid for my DBS through Zen Educate on 11th June 2026. My application reference is HR07708842.

It is now 13th August and I still have no update on the status of my DBS.

I have contacted Zen Educate by email and have repeatedly called them, but have been unable to speak to anyone. I initially sent a support email asking for an update, and when I received no response, I submitted a formal complaint on July 23rd and gave them five working days to respond.

The deadline has now passed by a considerable amount of time, and I have received absolutely no communication regarding my DBS application.

I understand that DBS checks can sometimes be delayed and that some parts of the process may be outside of Zen Educate's control. My complaint is primarily about the complete lack of communication. I simply want to know whether my application has actually been submitted, what stage it is at, and whether anything is required from me.

I have been trying to resolve this directly with Zen Educate for weeks and have had no response. I am now posting here as a final attempt to get someone to actually look into my case before I escalate the matter externally.

Hi,
I applied for my Enhanced DBS through Zen Educate. I paid the fee on 15th July 2026. Now almost a month I am not able to track down my DBS application. They are saying you agency never applied on your behalf. I am trying to reach out Zen educate from more than one week via email still no response. This is really frustrating and I feel this agency is some kind of scam.

Downloaded the app on the 20th of July, have not had any phonecall or response to emails. I try calling the number provided but always end up having to leave a voicemail then don't receive a call back. My account is stuck in a frustrating loop, my recruiter is non responsive and the support email just replys with an automated response. System glitch and no reply.

Jack has been super supportive throughout my placement with zen, answering any queries I have had and keeping great communication when necessary. I have since managed to secure a permanent position which was made possible through zen. Zen has opened doors for me and every interaction has been amazing. They really care about the workers individually, me and every other zen educate agency worker I have spoken to in my time with them have had nothing but positive things to say!

They made me feel so welcome and the staff were amazing and working with the children was amazing everyone was so lovely and I had the best time working with everyone and they all made me feel really comfortable and the atmosphere was just warming

Great agency to work for all staff are very friendly and make every effort to get you regular supply work weekly. Very supportive agency.

I had a few requests concerning school facilities and Zen found me a local place of work, with a car psrk and great staff.

The agency were very helpful and had very good communication skills. Whenever I had an issue with the app someone was on hand to sort out the problem. All the people in the agency were also very effective communicating with the school and informing me of the processes. I would highly recommend.

Great being able to use an app to show when you are or are not available so that you don’t have to answer calls and refuse work. Because you are unavailable. Would love to have more local schools on board to offer short term work . As a semi retired educator I am able to keep the perfect home and work life balance

Working with Zen Educate has been a rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to work in many outstanding schools and nurseries, where I have gained valuable experience and developed my skills. I always give my best in every setting and strive to make a positive difference for the children and the team. I was especially delighted to receive such positive feedback from Corner House Nursery ILG, which made me feel that my hard work is truly appreciated. I am grateful to Zen Educate for the opportunities and support, and I would happily recommend them to other educators looking for flexible and rewarding work.

4 years ago I left full time teaching and I haven’t looked back. #ZenEducate and Tom Hooper have introduced me to some fantastic schools. They are so supportive as a company. I still do the job I love ‘teaching’ without the endless bureaucracy. I now do what people think teachers do, 8.30 to 3.30. Thank you to all the schools who have made me welcome and have made me feel valued and appreciated.

I worked with Zen as a TA in Bristol for around 2 years for 2 days a week in which I found work was available at least 95% of the time. The salary is good and their app is amazing allowing me to confirm availability easily. The staff are helpful and friendly when you get through to them. Roles for longer terms also become available often although I worked on a daily supply basis due to other work commitments. The weekly pay is also an advantage.
The disadvantages of daily supply work are it is a first come, first served basis and you have to be very quick when the jobs come through which can be a bit stressful. Once you commit to a role you have to go through with it, occasionally there can be last minute cancellations. I would recommend if you work part-time or looking for something in between jobs or if you don't want to commit to permanent school roles as the flexibility is good.
Zen worked well for me during the time I was with them. At the beginning Zen used to call me on a regular basis to ask about my requirements which I missed later on. Apart from a few shortcomings I would highly recommend.

Brilliant company to work for! Excellent, simple and straightforward onboarding experience. Fantastic app to use, lots of support and free training to use.
You select your availability for the week and they find you regular work. I would recommend them to everyone!

Any unfair treatment you receive from any school you work with will not only be enabled but the effect of the negative treatment will be magnified by the agency. They only care about making money, not the interests of their "employees" they won't respond to your emails and their phone number only works if they're calling you. Any attempts to speak with someone on the phone will be met with an answering machine followed by a "busy line". They do not do any of the necessary work to ensure your work environment and treatment is fair and respectable. Their communication is very
inconsistent, saying one thing then meaning another. The least communication you actually have with anyone on the Zen team the better. The more you speak to them the more you realise their true priorities lie in making as much out of you as possible and keeping schools happy. If given 10 opportunities to show they have your back, they will do so 0/10 times.

I lost my Job due to being the victim of racial discrimination and I didn’t get compensated because of policy. Their relationship with the school still exists.
Remember, it is ILLEGAL to be racist in the uk. Unless of course the victim is a 24 year old Black male Zen educate agency worker.
