West Midland Safari and Leisure Park Omdömen 

One of the most memorable places we've ever visited and stayed at.

We have just returned from an incredible stay at the Red Panda Lodge, and if you’re considering it, we wholeheartedly recommend it. The park offers a wide range of activities, from exciting safaris to entertaining arcades. A highlight was the unforgettable night walk around the park after hours, which truly elevated the experience.

The lodge itself was stunning, perfect for just the two of us. It was fully air-conditioned, a blessing during the heat wave. We wish we could have stayed another night!

Today, we also enjoyed the VIP Safari, which was even more extraordinary. We got up close and personal with the animals and met some incredible people. We fed rhinos, giraffes, and sea lions, and interacted with many other animals in the park. A special thanks to Nick for being our fantastic guide and leaving the thoughtful personal note.

Overall, there are hardly any negatives; only a few minor communication hiccups within the lodge, which didn't spoil our fantastic stay.

The enclosures are designed to mimic the animals natural habitats, but if you are quiet and willing to wait animals will come over. Animals are noise sensitive so loud screaming or time of day can affect when you see animals even in the normal viewing points.

We will be back.

Awful, hardly any animals on the safari park drive, empty fields and cages. Too many coaches allowed thru, the drive took 3 hours.

waste of time and money, how they can expect you to pay for that is beyond a joke.

Arrived after pre booking tickets only to find the safari closed. Staff unhelpful, simply said we close at 1:30. No rebooking available. Had to pay for a non rider as part of booking process-no other options available. The return ticket was a waste as the park was overun by school bookings, ride queues endless and park full of kids when we were a couple woth a child. Why don't these parks block book schools on certain days instead of maximising profits by ramming the park full where you can barely enjoy a few rides? Not value for money at all. Would not return. Very disappointing.

It’s such a shame that this place has gone downhill! I used to have an annual pass and visited frequently. There are a lot fewer animals than in previous years - as in you’ve seen most of them as soon as you get there.

The road surface is covered in pot holes and gates falling apart. It’s like nobody cares anymore.

There were also very, very long traffic delays just to see about 5 depressed looking lions. All the other animals in the big cats area that used to be there were gone and sheep put in as “filler”.

It took 2 1/2 hours to get around on a quiet day- we were very bored and fed up, and couldn’t wait to leave. We weren’t the only ones- people stuck at the gates for 15 minutes were left honking horns waiting to be let out.
It seems very apparent that money has been ploughed into the lodges rather than on the general maintenance and upkeep and animals on the drive through. How sad!!! I wish I’d booked to go to Longleat instead!

In general, the best part of the experience was when it was over.

Paid for two tickets purely to enjoy the drive through experience on this occasion and it was a fiasco. We drove through the majority of the park without seeing anything except grass! NO WILD DOGS (again) and NO LIONS!!!!! I was totally dumbfounded so I searched online "why are there no lions at WMSPark?The answer I got was that the lions had been moved so that they can only be seen on the WALK THROUGH experience BUT we weren't to worry because on drive thru (and I quote) "You can still see Siberian Tigers and Cheetahs". What a joke! There were NO SIBERIAN TIGERS and NO CHEETAHS!!
At NO POINT when going through with the purchase of the tickets were we informed of these changes!

I'm a wheelchair user which is why I used to love the drive through so much so going on a 'walk thru' was not my idea of fun especially as it was boiling hot, there were hundreds of children/people there because of school parties etc and Ive got a phobia of wasps!! Speaking of the school parties, it seemed like every single group was gathered in the very small toilet area near the entrance/exit and I needed to use the disabled facility. It took us an incredible amount of time to try to get through the throng in order to reach it and then to get out again afterwards. Absolutely awful.

It may sound ridiculous but by the time I was back in our car I was quite upset. Horrible experience. To cheer me up my son went to the gift shop and came back with a magni buddy etc. When I saw the price he'd paid I was dumbfounded AGAIN. Extortionate, absolutely extortionate prices for the items in question.

I definitely don't think the 'free entry' for later in the year that came with our tickets will be used. Nope, definitely not.

We stayed at a giraffe lodge in June 2026. We had high expectations considering the price point of this experience. Although we had a lovely weekend, it falls short for the extortionate amount they charge. Good points:
Lodge styling
Comfy beds
Giraffes very active and visible
Access to the grounds after closing
Bad points:
Lodge had flaws, leaking shower, remote control didn't work, holes in decor. For £1300 a night, it should be perfect
Called lodge host on 4 different numbers. Never answered. It's a good job it was just an annoyance with the TV and not something serious
Safari drive round, terrible. Can't feed the animals anymore and hardly any animals visible
Main park very tired
Food prices extortionate. £8 for a pint of beer
Heat wave - 'air con' does not work to a high enough standard. It's climate control at best. They know this too as they had put a pedestal fan in one bedroom. For £1300, the lodge should have been the artic!
Food jars. One cloth to take them out of the microwave. You can't all eat together and if you've got a fussy eater that doesn't like mixed sauces etc, take your own meal as it comes out of one jar!
Extra crumpled up towel on seating area in bedroom, assuming left from previous occupants and cleaning team.

All in all, it's a 'nice' experience but absolutely not worth the price tag. It's a £650 stay for a family of 4 at best. Day guests and safari are being sacrificed due to these lodges and I feel they're trying to make up the short fall.
If you want a truly VIP exclusive experience, stay at Warwick Castle Tower suite for half the price!

what amazing experience we are having here . we booked to sleep with the lions . they havent disappointed us at all . we have been like big kids oh yer husband is with me lol nearly forgot about him lol . lions have been right infront of window , roaring, playing , rolling over . its just been out of this world really don't want to leave . we got woken up to one of the lions walking to our bedroom window looking in , what a perfect birthday wake up call i had . Lodge is beautiful air-conditioning is lovely and cool . the way the Lodge is laid out is perfect. and is clean and beautiful inside it took our breath away when we walked in . we even had the opportunity to walk around the park up till midnight when it was cooler .food is really yummy. staff are friendly and are there 24 /7 if u need them . back to the lions we have 4 males i am looking out while wrighting this 2 are laid on their backs with legs in the air one is curled up and the other one is laid flat on his side what a beautiful view while having breakfast.
we are definitely coming again

I have honestly never been so disappointed with a day out. We got about a quarter of the way around the safari drive and came to a complete stand still. Sat there not moving for an hour and a half before we saw any safari staff. When they eventually turned up they told us all to turn around and head back as there was a car fire infront (fair enough). It took a further hour and a half to get out the way we came because of all the backed up traffic so we lost 3 hours of our day & saw maybe 2 animals. I fully expected to be given another time slot to come back and do the drive through later when we got to the gate but that didn't happen, so we continued with our day feeling disappointed but determined to make the most of it.
It didnt much better. Half the tanks in the reptile world were empty, the aquarium was closed, the tigers and cheetahs were no where to be seen. We queued for 30 mins to see the sea lion show to see one sea lion do two. tricks and then sit and watch a little girl meet the sea lions for her birthday. When I saw this show in 2021 there were three sea lions doing different tricks so this show was majorly disappointing!
We moved on to the fair which was fine. I was glad it was there after the disappointing morning we'd had but the rides really arent very good considering youve paid £10 per wrist band to access them. There was only maybe 4 suitable rides for our kids ages. The signs on the way in make it look like theres so much more for their height range but they are including all the baby rides in the list which of course, your 8 & 10 year olds are not going to get on!

In addition to all of the above, the cost of drinks and food is unreal! We paid less at Disneyland!!! £16 for 4 soft drinks!

I contacted customer services when I got home as I really felt like some compensation was owed to all of the people who paid £20 per head for a safari and didnt get to do it. Customer services think differently. Its not their fault that a car broke down so their giving us nothing.... pretty sure it wasn't our fault either & were the ones who are £80 out of pocket!!!

I will obviously never return & I would advise anyone who is considering it to take a good look at all these reviews first.

We have just had a two night stay in one of the lodges. It’s the giraffe lodge. What an amazing stay. The lodges are amazing and the staff are amazing too. They are pleasant at all times and can’t do enough for you. The lodge itself was right next to the giraffes and you could see eye to eye with them. Thank you to all the staff there for giving us a wonderful time. We will be back soon.

Will never put myself and my family through this again. To pay for the privilege of getting stuck in London like traffic for 1.5 hours,with barely any animals and on day with over 30 degrees temperature...sounds like a dream,right? Rude ticket officer,demanding me to bring my under 2 year old to put the wristband (that i have purchased online) directly on her wrist,in case I will give it to someone else? Guys,have you seen the state of your rides? I think you are rather safe there...

Really bad organised trafic.
People use a right line when signs clearly say dont use it.
And staff say nothing about.
Spend more like hour in trafic and see nothing because of cars on right line abstructing wievs.waste of money.
Dont recomend until they sort a trafic issue.

Currently trying to speak to someone about our tickets and have been on hold for 2 hours and 36 mins and still waiting. Apparently I can email but it takes 5 days to reply. Great when you are trying to get an answer about a ticket for next day!!!! I was 10th in line and Currently no 2 what a joke!!! Need to get more people answering calls!!! Gave up after waiting over 3 hours to speak to someone!! Awful customer service. Wish I didn't have to give them any stars!!!

I’d strongly advise avoiding it at all costs. We went there and the traffic was awful and completely unmanaged. They advertise it as “4 miles of joy with animals,” but we spent 1 hour and 40 minutes covering only the first 600 yards before giving up and heading for the exit, without seeing most of the animals.

Traffic was barely moving, yet the park seemed to treat it like a normal day. Be careful - I’d avoid this park until they learn how to manage visitor flow properly.

I took my granddaughter yesterday 18th May 26. I have to say it was really disappointing, we started off driving around the park but I think they must of kept a lot of the animals in. Plenty of deer, zebras, giraffes but the rest was like jarassic park looking but nothing. We then parked up and made our way into the park. Ziggy was only 0.8 so little rides only, which is fine but they mostly closed or being repaired. The guy on the kiosk should have mentioned this because to be honest I wouldn’t have bothered buying her a wristband. We then proceeded to the seal show which was ok but you really need to spend some money on the whole place looking really tired. I won’t be driving 2 half hours again till you start getting better reviews to say it has improved.

Poor experience when myself and a good friend went to the safari park with our 2.5yr & almost 3yr old children for the under 5’s week. We decided against even attempting the drive around the safari in case the kids got agitated and opted for the walk around safari instead which was fine.
We walked back through the theme park area which the kids looked very interested in and were asking to go on. It was just opening at that time so we joined the queue for a little penguin wristband. My friend was asked to take her child out of his buggy and stand him against the measuring pole. He has a disability (which isn’t mine to disclose of course) but it was clear as day that he couldn’t hold himself up alone as my friend was supporting him the whole time. She was then asked to put his shoes on which agitated him and he got quite upset which was distressing. Then finally when we were issued our wristbands we set off to some rides, first to the Jurassic cars I think they’re called? To be turned away because my friends little boy cannot sit independently in a seat alone. Well we weren’t made aware of this rule before purchasing wristbands and this could be seen clearly when my friend had to hold her child up against the measuring bar! We were turned away from any ride we tried and were told the only thing we could POSSIBLY go on was the carousel (the sled). Both children were upset now knowing that their wishes were being denied. FYI they are both very switched on kids and knew that we were being told no to several rides.
Just leads me to my main point that they are just money grabbers and don’t care if you don’t know the ride T&C’s before purchasing wristbands! And not INCLUSIVE like their website says many times over and over. 1 ride that potentially included a little boy that can’t hold himself up alone, pathetic if you ask me. So many parks that are far better than this one.

I then emailed a complaint (my friend did too) and I said I think the least they could do was refund us both for the wristbands as we didn’t get to take the children on a single ride (didn’t bother with carousel as they were both very upset at this point) and seeing such disappointment in the kids was not nice for us mothers to endure!! I stated I would have even happily taken a free wristband for a future visit as I’m pretty local and if the complaint was dealt with well then I’d return probably a few times. They refused everything, so I will not be returning. £7 per wristband for us mothers struggling to get by day to day with the current cost of living makes a fair difference if we got that bit of money back and to simply to get nothing out of it for our kids made it even worse - the day was for them!! For such a large business to not be willing to spare £14 is what I find the most ridiculous.

I can see many reviews similar to this one saying that they are just in it for the money so I needn’t say anymore really. If you want a good day out that’s genuinely inclusive to all go elsewhere. Oh and the food is massively over priced too!

Fantastic day - may 4th bank holiday. We booked the 10:30 timeslot for the safari, no queue when we arrived. Entrance is a little confusing as it's two lane, but funnels to single vehicle entrance - was initially irritated that people couldn't wait and tried to go down the side of me, but I think it's not clear.

The wait for the carnivore enclosure gates is not clear either - a sign might help people who are getting frustrated, noticed a few people were starting to sound their horns (which seemed daft in a safari park!) - when you get to it, the wait on a hill is caused by an initial gate you can't see, and once through this it was easier to deal with the queues and similar gates. A lot of people struggle on the hill, a few clutches destroyed!

Didn't see the lions, but highlight was a particularly friendly camel who enjoyed sticking her head through our car window for a tickle.

I can see how people's experience may differ - it took around 2 hours to go around the safari - had it taken longer I think I would have started feeling a bit fed up.

It's not true that animals are moved away to cater for the lodges - it is true they have been moved for the benefit of people staying in the lodges, but the routes take you passed these areas anyway - we didn't feel we missed out.

The theme park area was nicely done - we really enjoyed the parrots! The dinosaur area was impressive (if a little in need of some patching in places on some of the models!). Ride waits were fine - despite it being a bank holiday I didn't feel it was overcrowded. We enjoyed the tiger enclosure. We didn't have time to see everything.

Yes, everything inside is expensive relatively - food, drinks, pretty standard for this sort of place. Found it easy to buy both however, although we brought a picnic and had great fun rolling down the hills outside the park.

Staff were fine for us!

Guess it's somewhat luck of the draw - we had a great time - nearly didn't go after reading all the negative reviews after purchasing the tickets!

Went to West Midlands safari park 2/5/26 for our grandsons 3rd birthday,Riding round to see the animals was a very big disappointment there were fields with nothing in at all half the animals wasn't even there. All the signs saying different Animals like white lions Tigers & so on were nowhere to be seen. They seem to be more interested in putting Animals by the cabins where you can stay overnight for a fortune. It's a real shame the safari park has changed a lot doing this it's very mis leading when the children are disappointed because the Animals are not in the fields. There was a lot of fields empty so uou drive through seeing hardly anything for what we payed for. Also walking round the park went to see the bats for instance inside no bats there but instead fish, wasn't any signs saying no bats available. We walked round a lot again some cages with nothing in, its a disgrace & very misleading to the public. All they seem to be interested in is your money.

If you want to burn your hard earnt fuel and sit in bumper to bumper stand still traffic with not a single Animal in sight then this is the place to go, you cant feed the animals any longer and that reflects massively on there overall lack of malnurishment

Went on 18th April for my Nephew's birthday, first of all your website is atrocious not only does it not explain your tickets clearly which led to us having to purchase 2 additional tickets as your BOGOF offer is deceiving, the drive through itself was disappointing and the language I am using is not a true reflection of what I want to say...The whole experience and theme park was just dire, absolute waste of your money and the staff are just lost, why would you stick people at a barrier with no access to take payments and when you ask why they have no answer, also safari for 5 tigets and animals that resemble more of a fox/dog! Will never go there again, even if you paid me

I am writing to formally raise a complaint about my recent visit to Burger & Co at West Midlands Safari Park.

During our visit, I was very concerned about the cleanliness and overall hygiene standards. The table we were seated at was extremely dirty. I politely asked a member of staff if she could clean the table before my son sat down. Unfortunately, she responded in a rude and hesitant manner and only carried out a very half-hearted attempt at cleaning it. I felt I had no choice but to clean the table myself using my son’s baby wipes, which resulted in thick black residue coming off the surface. This was extremely unpleasant and unacceptable.

In addition to this, I observed staff handling food without wearing gloves. They were moving between handling the tills, sauces, and drinks, and then directly touching food with their bare hands. This raised serious concerns about food hygiene and safety standards.

The quality of the food itself was also very disappointing. The meal appeared rushed and poorly prepared. The chips were soggy and saturated with grease, and the chicken was significantly undercooked, which is particularly worrying from a health and safety perspective.

Overall, this experience fell far below acceptable standards in terms of cleanliness, food quality, and customer service. I would appreciate it if this matter could be investigated and appropriate actions taken to ensure improvements are made.
