Wickes - Catford Omdömen 

I would like to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for Ben at Wicks in Catford. He is an exceptionally helpful, friendly, and genuinely caring person who goes above and beyond to make sure every customer feels welcome and supported.

From the moment we interacted with Ben, it was clear that he takes real pride in helping people. He has a brilliant character, a positive attitude, and a very approachable manner. He was patient, attentive, and more than happy to take the time to help us with everything we needed. His kindness and willingness to assist really stood out and made our experience at the store much more enjoyable.

It is not always easy to find someone who provides such a high level of customer service while also making customers feel comfortable and valued. Ben treats everyone with respect and goes out of his way to help whoever comes into the store, and that really deserves to be recognised and appreciated.

We genuinely had a very positive experience because of Ben. His helpfulness, professionalism, and friendly personality made a real difference to us. He is a great representative of Wicks in Catford, and we believe his hard work and dedication should be recognised.

We wanted to colour match paint to our kitchen cupboards and were immediately served by a charming gentleman who was so helpful and took us to the paint shelves first to see whether an existing off the shelf paint would be a sufficient match. Since none was available he operated the Dulux colour match system with ease and produced the perfect match. On the card we were given it reads IAN + Tim (we think). We could not have received better service!

I was very pleased to have Ben at Catford store who supported me to find what I was looking for and was very kind to help me with the load to the car. He has also been helpful to me on several occasions when I had visited the store and today he was amazing. This gave me a very pleasant experience attending the store. Thanks Ben.

I have been a customer of Wickes for a couple of years, and overall my experience with the Catford branch has been very good.
The Catford Bridge Wickes branch is excellent, and the manager, Ben, is especially helpful. He is always polite, deals with problems efficiently, and provides great customer service. Since Ben joined the Catford branch, there have been many positive changes, particularly in the way customers are treated.
However, I am still unhappy with the service at the Ealing Broadway, Southall, and Ruislip branches. They do not seem concerned about delivery mistakes, often do not answer the phone, and on some occasions have even hung up during calls. Their level of professionalism is poor, and it appears that some staff members have not been fully trained.
Unfortunately, the customer service at these branches has been very disappointing, and the treatment of customers needs significant improvement.

I think they are a Great team specially in Catford , anerly and Black Heath.

They do the Job right and on time. Thats enough.

Terrible! Poor customer service, one member of staff didn’t want to move, took several attempts of us asking for him to get up to assist us, would not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere

I have absolutely no problem with the staff within Wickes stores however their delivery service is terrible. I have now boycotted Wickes as a result of their lazy delivery service. If the owners of Wickes had any sense they would change the company that manages their deliveries. I know many people that have also encountered the same problems with the delivery service and have also taken their business elsewhere. POOR service is an understatement!

I had a really disappointing experience at this branch of Wickes. I went in with an issue that needed sorting, and the staff member I spoke to, Margarita, was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful from the start. She showed zero interest in actually listening to the problem, made no effort to resolve it, and had a genuinely poor attitude the whole time — like helping customers was an inconvenience to her.

In the end, my issue still wasn’t sorted out, and I left feeling like I’d been treated with real disrespect for simply asking for help. If this is the standard of service at this branch, it needs urgent attention.

Customer service should be a basic priority in retail, and this visit fell well short. I’d think twice before returning to this store unless staff attitudes improve.

Dreadful experience with the Catford Store for a Home Bathroom Consultation. Such unprofessional behaviour. As a result I can't imagine I'd ever use Wickes for anything in the future.

I was having problems with the online ordering system. The website kept crashing and when I did manage to check out half of my cart was unavailable for home delivery despite it being in stock. I called Wickes Catford and Margurita said to come in to the store and she’d put the order through for me and work it all out.

Which she did. Couldn’t be happier with the customer service I received and recommend the Catford store highly.

Really poor customer service. Three failed deliveries, customer services no help and store never answers their phone, even from their own call centre.

Really disappointing experience at Wickes! Firstly after making my way to the Catford store I was told the design appointment is not really a design appointment it’s just a discussion and the next meeting is the design. ‘We don’t do that here’ was the sales person response. I was surprised because I had come in for a design appointment and I’d also just been to Ikea and they had redesigned my whole kitchen during a design appointment (with the amazingly helpful Dawn in the Purley branch) so I had assumed understandably that this would be the same.

I wasn’t sure whether to refit the whole bathroom or just replace the units and my measurements were a bit off so I wanted some guidance about the best approach, but the salesperson was disinterested and unhelpful when I said I wasn’t sure of what to do. His only advice was that I should look on the website because ‘everything’s there’. That was the only guidance!

When he had enough he just stood up and looked at me as if waiting for me to leave! I actually had to ask him if was trying to get rid of me!

I then booked a design appointment at B&Q in Sydenham, and met with the amazing Bri who helped me with the entire design process. She walked me through the products and the ranges and helped me to work out exactly what I needed down to the colour of the tiles and all of the fittings. I ended up with two complete redesigns of my two bathrooms with all fittings, and a full set of floor tiling for my kitchen and utility room. The fitter came to measure up yesterday and he was also really helpful.

Overall I was really disappointed with Wickes as the level of service received at B&Q and IKEA was significantly better and what Wickes provided was not a design service in any way whatsoever.

Great customer service from kay at the Catford bridge store yesterday. I Have lots of home improvements which are tedious and mentally challenging. The staff member helped alot by giving fast and sufficient service.

Kaelee was great and helpful, assisted me with with finding some gloves and skirting. Excellent customer service and will defo return to the Catford store. Thank you Kaelee.

I recently came into the Catford store and had such a pleasant experience. My needs were met and I left happy. I would like to give special praises to Kay as she went above and beyond. I would highly recommend :)

Visited the Catford bridge store and was a bit confused on what best products to purchase, was assisted by a lovely worker named Kay, she was wonderfully polite and extremely helpful as im a disabled shopper, I hope she's working on my next visit :)

Waited in all day 7am to 7pm for a delivery that didn't show. Rung up in the morning (took 1hour wait to be connected) and was told it's coming midday. Delivery was cancelled without being informed then told they turned up and called 4 times which they didn't due to I have CCTV as well as my neighbours which shows no lorries were here or even nearby to back their claim and no missed calls. I took a day off work for the delivery as well as lost money paying for labourers to be onsite for the delivery after confirming the time with customer service which didn't come. Then told the nearest delivery is 3 days after my initial delivery date. This has put me weeks behind schedule due to having time booked off work for this delivery and works to be carried out over those days only to have the delivery offered after the time I booked off to complete the works. I would avoid using Wickes for delivery as this is not the first time I've had deliveries cancelled or gone wrong then have them lie and create an excuse. The branch I dealt with is Catford.

Arrogant staff called in a day before the measurement appointment, telling me there was no point to visit just because my initial expectation of the budget over the phone is too low. He did not even ask what is the size of my kitchen, which is very small 8'x6' (I answered - budget maybe around £5-6k? I m not sure because that's my first time)
But I thought that's the whole point for measurement visit, because I had no clues, I wanted to see what are my options. Also, if you have a "minimum spend" requirement, make it clear before allowing people to book you online.

The next day, Wren came to measure in the morning, and I visited their showroom, ended up went forward with a higher budget project over £9k, just because they are patient enough to come for measurement, explain every single details and provide professional comments.

I visited Wicks Catford branch on 13/6/2026 and must commend the store on their good Customer Service and the look of the store. I was able to see Sales staff on the shop floor and the store display was very good. The shelves were not empty and l was able to seek advice from members of staff who were willing and able to assist me. This has been a tremendous change from the pass 20 years and l will be shopping there more in the future. 👍
