Wickes - Brighton Omdömen 

Karen at Brighton branch was fantastic at dealing with my return.
Why cant other businesses employ people like her.

Had been battling with a staple gun from Wickes because I couldn’t buy Wickes replacement staples when had finished those that came with it.
This meant had to buy some from a generic staple supplier which had done ~ but they just didn’t fit inside the gun whatever whichever way we tried it.

The Brighton ( Hove ) team were so great they patiently went through the issues with me and it transpired they had actually packaged the wrong gun when I first ordered it ( bought it online ) and they replaced it with the right one!

The two team members who helped me took so much time to look into it - and while I had thought it was odd that the gun that had arrived wasn’t metal like the staple gun I had for years and was hoping to replace - I had been merrily using the plastic one as it worked and did the job fine. (Also testament to the fact that their products are very well made ~ the plastic one worked fine on the wooden garden posts it was being used on).

While of course the correct one should have been sent in the first place - they recognised it was a genuine issue and looked into what had happened and then replaced it even though I hadn’t realised it was the wrong one: even more confusing was the picture on the box which was the same shape model as the one that had been put inside it.

Very odd one off mistake but I was so relieved to get to the bottom of the issue because it was so confusing that I couldn’t get the new staples to fit into the one that had originally been sent and I had throughly looked into the staple size before ordering them.

Usually shops are so short and so unwilling to help when there is an oddity and in this case - also at an extremely busy time of year - I couldn’t praise the team at Wickes who helped me more. They really were beyond decent and their customer service skills were second to none.

Thank you so much!? A breath of fresh air in a very broken country at times - especially where retail is concerned.

Wickes fitted and supplied my new bathroom and they were superb! Brett at Brighton called to do the measurements, then gave me an appointment to visit the store and discuss/choose the items I wanted. I came with ideas from their website, then adapted those with advise from Brett and with checking those actual items in store. I received an estimate straight away on the price of equipment and the cost of fitting, which I agreed, then arranged a date for delivery and the fitters to turn up.

Everything arrived on time and as expected. The fitters, led by Brett (yes same name but different person), were very professional, polite, and at pains to answer my questions, listen to any ideas I had, and keep the place clean with dust sheets etc. It was a big job, but they had it finished within two weeks, arranging for plasterers, tilers, etc to turn up as and when required
.
After a change of mind, I was able to swap two items of equipment without any problems, and always felt reassured that my questions and requests would be answered promptly and efficiently.

So I now have a beautiful new bathroom which I am proud to show off to all and sundry.

Thanks Brett and Brett, and all at Wickes. They held my hand during the whole process, with constant reminders and prompts, and were always available on the phone when needed. Brilliant job. Other companies please take note!

I had obtained a quote from a different local company, but their support and interest in my needs were non-existent, and their price very high. I shall stick to Wickes in future.

I paid for and was told my chosen kitchen was in stock 18/11/24 - the designer Alistair was excellent and helpful and also gave me the customer service number should I need to contact them - on 19/11/24 I tel customer services to arrange delivery and they said 3 items out of stock but the very helpful Scott found them and confirmed all available confirming delivery for today 27 nov - then on Saturday 23 November ref Gary from customer services tel and said 1 x 300 mm base unit now out of stock and would be back in stock 1 December but they could not/ would not deliver till 3 December - my kitchen fitters who are like gold-dust started TODAY 27 November and finish Saturday 30 November- so 3 dec is too late - I called the designer who said item is in stock and may arrive and to tel him if it does not. The base unit was NOT delivered today 27 November so I called designer again and he said it shows in stock and to tel customer services- I spent 20 mins already today trying to get through and gave up - then again I called again and it took over 1 hour to get through- when I did Ref Rosie said item is in stock and did not know why it had not arrived but she could not / would not get me an earlier delivery date than 3 December- I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one. This now means my fitters will have to come back when they can fit me in to finish off and fit this one unit. Ref Rosie said in terms and conditions just because it says in stock does not really mean it is and you cannot believe items are available till delivered. Also you should not book fitters till kitchen delivered in case items don’t arrive!!!! BEWARE of Wickes as they don’t seem to care much forcustomers once they have taken your money !!!!!! I asked how to complai and she said to call customer services or on contact form on Wickes website BUT not till you eventually get everything- really….. I don’t have 1 hr 10 mins trying to call customer services !!!!! Not sure yet about the quality of my kitchen but so far the service regards delivery and items in stock and delivery gets 0 stars - just BEWARE they take your money telling you everything available when ITS NO!!!!!!

Thanks a lot for great service from Jakie and Micheel . I’m working with this store for many years and they usually provide great experience. Im usually buying building materials and they are so helpful to make a right choice and then I can provide great quality for my customers , that is really important for me . Thank you guys !

Despite paying a decent amount, the product (a 5 function shower kit & slider rail) was poor to the point of misrepresentation: the handset is only 3 function (like the one I was trying to upgrade); the handset doesn't really mate into its holder (the main reason I replaced the old one as I didn't want it falling out & cracking the shower basin - not really a good solution to my concern) plus the steel hose leaked strongly so I had to source a rubber washer to stop the leak. NOT IMPRESSED

Unprofessional and aggressive store staff accused me of stealing an item which they don’t even sell. I went in and asked one of the staff if they stocked the item, when he said he didn’t, I made to leave and three of them followed me to the exit and in front of queues of people. They were unbelievably rude and aggressive and when they determined they’d made a mistake they didn’t even apologise and replied with ‘don’t get funny mate, we are just doing our job’. It was humiliating and stressful and to not receive an apology was outrageous. Logged a complain and was meant to receive a reply days ago that has not materialised. Brighton/Hove store is now boycotted.

The customer service received from Jackie and Mike at Davidor Road is second to none.

We love Jackie she is amazing nothing is to much trouble for her and I would be proud if she was a member of my team

As a Maintenance Company Wickes Hove is our go to hardware store that's centrally located and always 5 stars (Worthing is another matter).
Jackie in the Hove store is always cheerful and helpful a real pleasure when looking for certain items, with fantastic customer service every time she's obviously a true asset to the Company.

Wickes Hove has always been a convenient spot to get our bathroom/plumbing essentials. A special mention to Jackie who is not only helpful and informative but also a delight to see every time we’re in there! 5 Stars!

Convenient location and they Always have what I need and the staff are helpful especially Jackie and Michael.

My local store in Brighton and hove is a multiple daily visit.

The staff are excellent and my go to member is Jackie her knowledge is second to none : and. She is very very friendly : Ask for JACKIE!!!

Great support from Brett in taking our idea for a kitchen to reality. Good quality units and able to make the design flexible for what we wanted. Was also flexible about us returning a few parts that went unused. The right balance between good quality and affordable price.

Do not use for a bathroom install
Wicks have zero customer support not interested in fixing problems
We had to have a complete re install took 6months with a bathroom not fit for purpose had to issue a section 75 before they took notice
