WDS Components charge an illegal "restocking" fee.
WDS Components charge a "restocking" fee which, under the CCR 2013 (The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations) states that "retailers cannot charge restocking fees or any other administrative fees for processing returns from consumers for online purchases within the 14-day cancellation period". Further it also states that "If a consumer cancels, the trader must refund all payments—including standard delivery costs—within 14 days", which WDS Components are also withholding. I asked WDS to refund this amount back; however, they have chosen to ignore my emails. They DO advise customers of the restocking charge in their T&C's, but the charge is still illegal whatever they claim...!!! As an aside, they also charge an unusually high delivery fee (£8 + VAT = £9.60), for an item that costs £4.95 to deliver...

We are sorry you do not feel that you have been treated fairly. We have investigated this review carefully in line with the comments you have made. The evidence we have leads us to believe we acted within the rules and legislation.
We do not hide our terms and conditions, and they are available for all customers to read before they purchase.
You accepted the carriage at the point of sale, and we have some empathy for you on this occasion, due the value of your order. We do, however, believe our carriage charges are fair and reasonable, clearly displayed on the basket, and we use a reputable courier service to ensure goods are delivered. Customers are welcome to collect or arrange their own carriage.
We have looked at you order; the goods were ordered at 5:30pm on a Friday and they were despatched on the next working day. Our opening hours are clearly displayed. We do recognise your frustration. However, if there was a delay in the receipt of the goods, we would have expected to be informed. We also provide tracking numbers to all customers with every despatch which allows our customers to track the delivery. We did supply this information, and you were well within your rights to contact the courier directly. We are always happy to do this for customers, but we did not receive any correspondence from you. Only this review.
We have contacted you privately to resolve this issue. We appear to have not received any correspondence from you, prior to this review, and we have requested copies to help resolve this matter. You have so far refused to supply proof of any correspondence with us. Our team would welcome the opportunity to resolve the matter amicably.
