Good fun for pensioners but standards slipping
Good fun for pensioners, but standards on cleaning and maintenance slipping. Food hit and miss. Drinks expensive.
Good for tribute festivals, music, dancing, and friendly atmosphere. Some bargains around.
Most staff are very good and hard-working, but are on minimum wage!
Clueless customer service.
Clueless customer service.
Having just returned from our 5th Warner break of the year and without going into the reasons, we felt that the last couple of trips for various reasons had been disappointing. I felt we were within our rights to ask for some sort of compensation for the let's say shambolic experience from our latest visit. Not looking for a full refund just a gesture from Warner to say sorry we messed up this time. In response today I had a call from an officious person called Sharon in "customer experience" who confidently told me that according to their term and conditions they can basically do what they like and no compensation would be forthcoming. So Sharon in "customer experience" I've spent well over £5k with Warner over the last 10 months and had another trip booked which has now been cancelled. Given i am likely to live for another 20 years or so God willing it's highly likely that I would have spent another £100k or so with Warner which will now be spent elsewhere. Well done Sharon, clearly employee of the month material.
Weekend break at warners runnymead…
Weekend break at warners runnymead hotel windsor. Unable to go on.our weekend as day before I had a severe ibs attack which would have not been able to travel incase I had another attack. I phoned warners only head office you cannot get to speak to hotel itself only the people that have sold you your break we pd over £1000 for fri to mon we asked if they could transfer our break to another weekend but they wernt to prepared to do that so I asked if we could therefore have a refund which was immediately refused and suggested that if we decided to travel anyway because I told her I wasn't well she would be informing the hotel so on arrival we wouldn't be let in terrible customer service impossible to get to speak to hotel itself so now trying to get money back through credit card but having to fight even with that dont touch warners is my advice
Deterioration in the general offering
After many Warners breaks, this was the worst. Below average food which was usually warm not hot. Disappointing entertainment. Cold public areas. A general feeling of cut backs. The only positive was the friendly helpful staff. After many Warners breaks and watching the gradual reduction in standards, we will not be returning.
We stayed at Gunton Hall
We stayed at Gunton Hall, a three night break. As soon as I opened the door to the chalet, (Kingwood 8) it was disappointing. Grubby/dirty carpet, dark brown furniture, dismal and depressing. Only a hand-held shower in the bathroom, dirty cups, mirror with disintegrating corners spilling bits on the top of the sink unit, old flush connection still in situ, dirty skirting board, bed headboard with paint peeling off. Not what we expected. Buffet breakfast and dinner and queuing up for food like it was some sort of cafeteria rather than restaurant. Yoghurt piled high in a dish, everyone picking up the spoon and putting it back full of yoghurt, marmalade in a huge bowl instead of small jars, scrambled egg overcooked and toast like cardboard. Same for evening meal, overcooked roasts, getting up and down, up and down for each course. Badly presented and overcooked. It was disgusting. I complained to reception and was told they can't update ALL the chalets. My reply is I should have been told this was an inferior chalet on booking, in which case I wouldn't have booked it. It was our wedding anniversary. The whole scramble for food uncivilised. I wrote a letter to the Manager at Gunton Hall but have not received a reply or even an acknowledgement of receiving the letter. So, I sent an email to Customer Care copying in the letter but still no reply. It was our first holiday with Warners and will definitely be our last. Almost £800 for the three nights and a complete rip off. For £200 plus a night we could have stayed in a very smart hotel. Never Again.
Beware the 10% surcharge
Visited the Warmers at Runnymede over this weekend. The hotel was fine, the food good
BUT
There was only one small lift for the whole hotel and considering the age group of the guests this was totally inadequate
EVEN WORSE
Order any drink or food from the bar and you get 10% service charge slapped on to the bill whether you want it or not. You could not buy form the bar - they would send someone over. There was no obvious indication of this charge on the menu. I think that this is terrible
Went to littlcoat house week of 21st…
Went to littlcoat house week of 21st September first few days we had a lady waitress who was very good then had a man called Piotr he was a lovely man very helpful and polite and always had a little chat. All the staff including bar and entertainment looked after us been before and will be going back
Our third visit to Studley Castle
Our third visit to Studley Castle. It didn't disappoint.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Lovely room overlooking the gardens
Entertainment good ( wishing Georgia and Billy every success for the future. Their debut was on the Route 66 entertainment 1/ 10/ 26.
Warner Hotel it's been a pleasure. Thank you
cant get help
You can't get through on the chat or to speak to someone by phone, it lets Warner down, no customer service as far as admin is concerned.
Stayed at Hythorpe park with 10…
Stayed at Hythorpe park with 10 friends, 5 disabled. From start to finish the service was awful. The dinner all 3 days was awful. Only 1 staff at the reception and he was not helpful at all. I can go on and on about our bad stay. Never again in a warner hotel.
The staff were great
The staff were great , the entertainment team very friendly , worked really hard and are very talented.
The food was mostly excellent, lots of choice and plenty of it .
The rooms clean and the grounds full of beauty , nice walks .
We were at Gunton Hall Suffolk .
Poor service and uncontactable when things go wrong.
The building and its surrounds are excellent. If only the management was there. A bit like Fawlty Towers. Read the other reviews for details.
My main moan is that having left my wallet in my room on departure I got home and was unable to contact Warners anywhere, never mind the Runnymede.
What a shambles. That's my OAP for this month disappeared in the mists of the Thames.
Appalling customer service
This is more a review of Warners customer service than the hotel. Stayed at Runnymede. Hotel is nice enough, food is acceptable. Dining staff are friendly, more than the reception staff.
The hotel is in very close proximity to Windsor. The evening entertainment is of a high standard.
My issue at the hotel was with a dreadful humming sound all through the night. It was so bad that I had to call the night manager and ask to be moved. He was helpful and offered another room that was the same pricing tier but was above the entertainment auditorium and told us there would be noise until 12 pm on the second and final night of our stay. He didn’t tell us that traffic noise from the motorway would be as noisy as the humming sound in our original room.
I googled the room number to see if other guests had complained about the humming. They had, it was well documented. The manager denied this and said he could not hear anything.
My issue was that the alternative room was sourced according to price not guest comfort. If I had been made aware I would have picked a more expensive room.
I contacted customer services on my return and explained that we had two nights of broken sleep. It was important to have rest as I was recovering from a serious operation. I asked for a refund
The customer service person told me in no uncertain terms that Warners considered the matter dealt with because I had been sent to another room albeit a noisier one. I was told that Warners would never give any kind of refund or gesture of goodwill and basically didn’t care if u ever returned. The attitude was appalling. I will never go back to a warners hotel due to their utter contempt for guest comfort,
Not value for money!
Stayed at Heythrop Park. Was a very expensive two night stay and I’m afraid it wasn’t worth it! Food was average, drinks extortionate, wanted £20 to reserve seats for entertainment because it wasn’t big enough to accommodate all the guests. Eventually they had to put on two shows but they were curtailed so you seen a shorter performance! The place was also very tired and grubby in places and the service was generally awful!!
Warners- You should be ashamed!
Took new friends to Littlecote House 26th-28th August. Paid for two historic rooms. When we arrived we took friend to their room only to find it was unmade and a complete mess. Reception call housekeeping and they apologise and offer a replacement room which was basic so they suggested we go to bar for a drink why they cleaned original room. Hour later a call to say room ready but had to wait further 2 hours because of products used! Asked to speak with manager who called about hour later. Explained only there for 2 days and now losing 3 hours. He apologised and offered £40. I stated that I didn't think that reasonable so would complain when got home. Manager threatened to remove the £40 if I was going to complain further! Said we could go home and have refund but I pointed out I could no longer drive as had been in bar at their suggestion! Got to rooms to find letter under door stating that meals would be served because some guests suffering gastric problems. Why was none of this mentioned at check-in and when I spoke with manager? This was especially important when two of the party have serious health conditions. Go to dinner and during meal another guest near us projectile vomited in front of us so dinner ruined and had to be moved. During course of next day it becomes obvious that the gastric issues were more serious and staff started telling us in confidence that it was a major problem because 350 guests that started on the Monday had reduced to 150 by the Thursday! They said that the hotel wasn't closed because senior management wouldn't allow it! Still no major communication. Check out on Friday morning and reception staff calling guests who were due to be there over the weekend that their break had been cancelled because they were closing for 3 days to do deep clean. On our return home 2 of our party were ill with the sickness/diarrhea bug.
Made complaint to Warners and they continually hid behind fact that they took advice from the local health authority and did everything necessary. They denied that they closed for 3 days, instead made sure no cross-over of guests on the Friday and so sent everyone home in the morning and delayed arrival of new guests on the Friday by 2 hours to allow for the extra cleaning - how does a whole resort get a deep clean within an extra two hours? Best they would offer was a voucher for our ruined evening meal on the first night. As usual it was only a voucher so no real cost to Warners and requires us to use their services again if we want to claim it! Pointed out failures in their supposed controls as menus still passed between guests and staff without cleaning in between. Pointed out failures in their communication but they just weren't interested!
Am a premium member but have seen gradual reduction in service and quality in last 2 years so won't be using them for future breaks after this sorry episode. Would give zero stars if trustpilot allowed it.
We turn up at warners for our weekend…
We turn up at warners for our weekend away to be told they had an outbreak gastro. We walked through hotel no signs to avoid going in All we got back was our money.
Nothing for inconvenience or petrol. Warners are heartless won’t go again. All they want is your money
DISASTROUS WARNER BREAK
DISASTROUS WARNER BREAK
Booked a 3 night Littlecote House for 70th birthday celebration in upgraded room with garden access..
Night before we were due to leave Warner cancelled due to a norovirus outbreak (that they had known about for at least 4 days).
So why did they wait until last minute to tell us?
Warner had no plan or option in place and left us to source our own accommodation elsewhere (or cancel - which we couldn’t do as it was a special celebration).
Littlecote House was chose specifically to enable meeting our grandkids from London for the birthday celebration
No other 3 night suitable locations were available.
Reluctantly chose 2 night at Studley Castle - no upgraded room with garden access available and Studley management showed no interest (except for receptionist Linda who tried her best)
This was our first Warner holiday - not impressed.
Awaiting a response from Warner.
In short: special 70th birthday celebration a disaster and unable to meet grandkids from London because of Warner late notification.
UNSYMPATHETIC APPROACH
Had booked a 4 night break back on 02 Mar 2026 for a combined double celebration, my 67 b/day & our 43rd wedding anniversary on that very date. I used some TESCO vouchers to help cover the deposit cost of £80. Unfortunately, I had my cancer operation on 14 Feb 2026 (removal of my left kidney) & was very unwell after the operation, so unable to attend our selected break. I have tried in vain to recover the deposit, NO LUCK at all, so I have advised Warner Leisure that they have now lost a valued customer due to their 'unsympathetic' approach to any guest who has a valid compassionate reason for being unable to attend.
Shocking Customer Service
Shocking Customer Service I have been trying to get hold of Warner Hotels to change my booking for 2 days and all I get is awful on hold music. Today it was 17 minutes before I gave up, I seriously wish I had never made the booking.
A lucky escape as we nearly booked with Warners
I am generally a thanker and a praiser but the recent very cold, inflexible and heartless treatment by Warners customer service to relatives of ours has forced me to shift the other way. We and several friends were going to book a Warners break but thank goodness we found out in time. Having heard the how our devastated relatives have been treated there is absolutely no way that we will use Warners now or ever again. Glossy ads do not make a business it is how they treat customers in a crisis.
