This company are a disgrace, I’m having to go down the trading standards route to get my deposit back that I’ve been waiting for since the beginning of August, worst company I’ve ever had to deal with, I gave them over £1200 in good faith, told that I’d get it back in a reasonable amount of time, now they just keep fobbing me off with lies, they are hugely in breach of their contract and still they lie. I’m thoroughly disgusted with the treatment I’ve received, and the replies to the complaints on this about them are also lies I’m sure.

2nd year to hire.. never again...too much stress

Had incredible trouble getting security deposit back 7 weeks later, just kept getting fobbed off, while we were paying interest, terrible service, couldn't get any sense on phone or live chat.....total nightmare

They are quick to take your money, but not quick to give you your refundable deposit back!!!
Myself and my husband hired a motorhome in July. We had a great holiday. The standard of the motorhome was not great but it did us the week.
On return we were told we would get our deposit back £250 in 28 working days. It has been around 40 working days and we have still not received this. I have had an email to tell me the deposit will be £190 as there is an administration fee for giving back your deposit. Unbelievable!!!
You think your getting a good deal with booking......believe me go to another company that may charge more, but I am sure they will not have any hidden costs.

So to all my friends and family, as you are aware, Froggy and I had a great holiday with a hired camper van. The holiday itself was great and I thought I would be OK with the same hire company that we used 2 years ago....Well how wrong was I. OK we had another camper van who smashed our driver side mirror to pieces, did he stop, did he hell. I reported it to the Police etc. I saw on our hire that we had 11 days assurance. I duly informed the hire company via their system giving them the Police complaint number etc. The camper hire company have now come back to me and said that they will not submit my claim to the insurance company as I do not have the 3rd party name or details. So basically I have to pay for it out of my pocket even though I have payed assurance through them. Well I have now asked Master Card Gold for their help so we will wait and see what happens.
They take ages to answer you if they ever do.
One other note, they will ask for a huge security deposit which will be refunded 1 to 6 months after the hire if you are lucky.
Avoid them at all costs.....They have lost our custom for the years to come.

Delay after delay and excuse after excuse. Once you start chasing your deposit they become less and less helpful and harder to actually contact. Live chat is worse than useless. Everything about this company shouts SCAM.
I’ve been trying to get my deposit back for nearly 3months. Fortunately I paid by credit card and I contacted my credit card company and thank goodness they credited The amount back . Ive hired Motorhome’s in the past and NEVER had such a horrendous and stressful experience.
Oh yeah and they don’t actually hold the amount on your credit card they actually take the money so I had two monthly payments plus interest to pay while they enjoy my money. PLEASE AVOID OR YOU WILL BE OUT OF POCKET.

I hired a camper in June and my deposit has not been returned yet and does not look like it will be.
They do not answer calls or emails.

AVOID THIS COMPANY
I had the misfortune of hiring a vehicle from this company and unfortunately for me and family we hired a wreck and now fighting for my deposit back. I intended to sue this company for breach of contract under misreprentation but solicitor advised although I have a strong case and would undoutably win I'd end up out of pocket. So, what do you do? Firstly read our reviews and stay well clear of these criminals. If you're fighting for your money back - good luck. Fortunately I used a credit card. Section 75 makes the Cc company equally liable on purchases so you may be able to get all your money back including deposit, I'm hopeful. Contact Trading standards and financial ombudsman too. Don't let these thieves get away with it. Good luck to all.

WE LOST OUR DEPOSIT but saved a whole lot of money
Please think carefully before placing a DEPOSIT with this company. If you’re thinking of renting from Unbeatable Hire, or one of their numerous subsidiaries, or affiliated companies, (NATIONAL MOTORHOMES, HIREBOOKING CENTRE, MOTORHOLME and more) don’t be surprised when the additional charges start adding up. They will turn what you had assumed was a cheap holiday into a very, very, expensive one. By the time you have added up all their deceitful surcharges, for items you would have assumed necessary and essential for travel, you’ll be wanting to cancel. If you do, don’t expect your money back without a fight.
Would you like a proper introduction to your rented motorhome, with an explanation of how everything works? You’ll only get one, if you have purchased their “handover package”.
Expect to watch TV whilst you’re away? PROVE you have a TV licence.
Expect to use their chemical toilet? Not unless you’ve paid for the chemicals.
Want to refill the water tank? You had better have paid to rent the water hose, or brought your own.
Parking a car? Oops! Another many £££s gone.
Motorhome not parked level, so you can get a good night’s sleep? Well you should have paid to hire the levelling chocks.
Want a cup of tea? Check you did remember to buy a gas bottle and that they have supplied the necessary kitchen “accessories” in their “kitchen pack”.
And the list goes on. Don’t even rely on their Insurance Excess Waiver. If there is a loophole, these snakes will wriggle through it.
Or choose another type of holiday, altogether. My advice is to avoid this company and its “cheap” offers, like the plague.

Although the motorhome hire itself went…
Although the motorhome hire itself went well I am still awaiting refund of £1140.80 deposit which was triggered on 22nd July. I cannot contact customer services ( the phone is not answered, and it is all done by live chat...and I have wasted hours waiting for live chat to respond.) I did get through on Friday 9th and was assured it would be sorted within 48 hours....one week later still no refund......
Nightmare....

Festival trip
Couldn't fault much from booking to our hire and return, allot of people seem to say what they were quoted and paid are quite different but ours wasn't, if you have never hired a motorhome you may not know how much it costs, The chat team seemed very helpful in answering any questions the collection was straight forward they were informative and helpful, we had a chausson flash 514 which was nice and clean slight damage in odd places, it was so easy to drive, One thing I did notice that there wasn't a carbon monoxide detector which you would of though it would be standard in something that uses gas, we did have a slight issue while away which I must admit there did seem a lack of support regarding that, on return everything was fine, I guess I would use them again

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY!
I would give less stars if it were possible. COMPANY NEEDS TO BE CLOSED DOWN. Unless you are minted. ABSOLUTE CON. WILL and DO rob you, with no conscience at all. They've basically made up their own list of rules which means they can do what they like. Once you've paid your money, you WONT get it back. Please Please PLEASE DONT give them your deposit & if you have make sure you cancel within 24 hours, or else you are stuffed. Once you pay your balance they then 'unlock' a load more charges, and not cheap ones either, insurance is a nice little trick they have up their sleeve, just take my advice & GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Trust me you'll wish you had.
