Avoid this company! The current owners took over in 2024 and the positive reviews probably refer to the years prior to then ...I purchased a 2 year old Hyundai Kona from them after they gave me a the full sales pitch. After the car was delivered, I discovered the service book had not been stamped for its first service to maintain the manufacturers warranty. I contacted the salesman, Zack, who promised to look into it and get back to me after assuring me that the service would have been done and the missing service book stamp was just an oversight... 3 weeks later, after my follow up email had been ignored, I still have had no contact from them with proof of the service being done. Their support system is disgraceful...Buy your next car from an ethical car company, not this one ...!!

Reg GY68 BWK. DO NOT GO TO THE COMPANY!!! Sold me a car and the head gasket had gone (basically a latte in the coolant) and tried to say that it had just been in for service and a MOT when It definitely did no the seatbelt didn’t even work but it had passed a MOT????? I don’t think so. This company is very dodgey and horrific please do not do the mistake I did and get a car from here it will just cause u trouble and not worth the hastle. In addition to this I got AA to come out to double check what else was wrong with the car and I couldn’t believe how many faults they had cleared up just so they could sell it! Disgrace of a company. All they want is your money and do not care! Absolute scammers

DO NOT BUY – AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The car broke down on my first trip from the dealership. When I tried to exercise my right to reject the vehicle, they actually had the audacity to reject my rejection! To make matters worse, they charge you £299 for the privilege of selling you a car that doesn't even work!

I eventually got the AA involved, which helped apply some pressure, but I still had to pursue the matter further. It was only after sending a final Letter Before Claim that I eventually received my money back over two months later...

Do not be misled like I was by the positive reviews. My experience with this dealership was exactly what you fear when buying a used car. Take a look at Trustpilot as well, where other customers have reported their own problems.

Based on what happened with my vehicle, I have absolutely no confidence in the checks they claim to carry out before selling their cars.

WARNING TO ANYONE CONSIDERING BUYING FROM THE MANCHESTER MOTOR COMPANY.

I rarely leave reviews, however I feel it is important to share my experience so that other buyers can make an informed decision.

In March 2026 I purchased a Peugeot 208 (KM23GUE) through finance and had the vehicle delivered to Nottingham. Within just a couple of days of receiving the vehicle, faults were identified and reported to both the dealership and finance company.

The vehicle was subsequently collected by the dealership for repair. At the point of collection, I was advised that the repairs would take approximately one week. Unfortunately, this deadline was repeatedly missed and the vehicle remained in the dealership's possession for several weeks with very little communication or meaningful updates.

Throughout this period I continued making finance and insurance payments despite being unable to use the vehicle. No courtesy vehicle was provided, leaving me without transport whilst the dealership retained possession of the car.

Communication was extremely poor. Emails frequently went unanswered, updates had to be chased repeatedly and obtaining even basic information became unnecessarily difficult.

I also experienced issues with the vehicle documentation. I never received the V5C logbook and the new keeper slip provided did not work correctly. This created additional stress and inconvenience on top of the existing issues with the vehicle.

As the situation continued to deteriorate, I exercised my right to reject the vehicle. Following a full investigation, Startline Motor Finance upheld my complaint, accepted the rejection and formally unwound the finance agreement. I was subsequently released from all liability under the agreement and the finance payments made were refunded.

What I find particularly disappointing is that despite the finance company accepting the rejection, the process remained unnecessarily drawn out and stressful. The matter required ongoing involvement from Startline and Zuto before meaningful progress was made.

At the time of writing, I am still pursuing reimbursement of a £544 vehicle delivery charge paid directly to the dealership. This remains outstanding despite the vehicle rejection being upheld and the finance agreement being unwound.

What should have been a straightforward vehicle purchase turned into months of stress, uncertainty, chasing emails and dealing with issues that should never have arisen in the first place.

This review reflects my personal experience with The Manchester Motor Company and is based entirely on documented events throughout the purchase, repair and rejection process.

Avoid this company. All good while they take your money but as soon as there is an issue they don’t come back to you. Won’t deal with you over the phone and tell you to email the the don’t reply to your email. I would not use again ever

My first and last time dealing with this company. I wouldn’t recommend at all - they lacked all professionalism. I would avoid this company at all costs, do not trust them!
