Great facilities, suites my needs

Really good gym with clean facilities, great equipment, and a friendly atmosphere. It’s a great place to train and I’d recommend it.

Only downside is the showers aren’t warm enough—would be great if this could be sorted.

Guest pass is a joke . A member sends you a link where you enter your email which results in the option to retrieve your old pin from when you used to be a member. Even using a different email address doesn’t generate a guest code . And to top it all we went to the gym together so the member could ask for help but not one member of staff could be found . Very disappointing.

First time back since January from a bad accident. Anyway, the gym could do with some more wheelchair friendly machines such as chest fly machine and a support stand for bicep curls. Question, what is with the new vending machine that didn't really need replacing? If you are looking for a PT I recommend Nathan, but overall the staff in the gym are good PT's too.

Recently there has been a removal of blue roll and cleaning sprays across all gyms I attend. This means there is nothing to wipe your equipment down with after use.

The spin bikes will get used, be absolutely dripping in sweat and then there will be nothing to wipe them down. It's pretty wild. I spoke to one of the staff about it and they said it was a cost saving excercise.

All equipment is now sticky. If I hadn't paid a year up front I would attend another gym

If you think wiping sweaty equipment daily is sufficient that’s part of the problem. Appreciate the environmental concerns but a bit of common sense is also required.

Been a member for a few months now. I'm surprised there aren't any facilities for cleaning equipment before/after use. It is not nice having to share other members' sweat/germs. The gym temperature is way too hot. I have been a member at other gyms where the temp is a lot cooler. Any cardio work means sweating profusely due to what appears to be no air con. And the toilets don't appear to be cleaned or checked often. It would seem some members have an aversion to flushing after use. A disgusting habit which is not the fault of the gym....but does any of the staff ever check the toilets during the day? If so, it appears to be infrequently. A good gym, with plenty of space and quality equipment, sadly ruined by the above.

I joined the gym in June 2023 to get myself in shape for my wedding in June 2024. I was very apprehensive about going as I knew I was drastically over weight and had the thought that everyone was going to be staring at me which was something that's stopped me going prior to when I joined.

I joined during the gym getting a refresh so I had a look at the app and the personal trainers to see if I could find someone who would be able to help me achieve my goals and work around my medical conditions as I didn't want to go in and do things that made me feel worse and of course it gave me a person to be a point of contact should I need advice and help, I sent off an email to the general manager explaining my goals and within a few hours I had a reply with him telling me to pop my head onto his office at any point and speak things over before going ahead with personal training. At no point have I ever felt more comfortable talking to someone about my body, my medical issues and my goals, I was made to feel at ease and that my goals where achievable and to ignore my thoughts that everyone was watching me as realistically they are only focusing on themselves and what they are doing.

It's now November and I'm still going strong, not missing my sessions with pt or my own training plans on a day to day basis and i have no care in the world of wither other gym users are watching me, infact a few have gave me positive comments and said they can see a difference in me and that I'm doing well. That in itself was a huge confidence booster to me.

The gym is always clean and tidy, the atmosphere is brilliant between all the staff and members and there's times where you might feel as though you can't be bothered but the staff always help push you on and boost morale by talking things over if struggling and have a laugh and joke with members which helps take the edge away when not feeling it.

I have the gym bug now and can't fault the place and from general manager to the cleaner the place is a happy place to be, staff always happy at work and members also.

I have never once seen a staff member ever having cross words with gym members and if they have to speak to members then they must he doing it in private which I find is very professional as means the member doesn't feel as though they are being brought down in front of others.

Overall I'm inspired by the place and staff to continue my fitness journey and I know the staff will do everything they can to help if anyone needs it as they are all available unless training clients which is understandable.

Would recommend the place to anyone

Absolute Nightmare!! I was a member of the gym group in Sheffield before I moved to Scotland with not an issue to be with my wife, Almost immediately I noticed the assistant general manager and another member of staff giving me and my wife uncomfortable looks, My wife left a couple of weights on the bench press machine and the day after I received a warning for leaving weights on the bench press not my wife?? a Couple weeks after I was on the fixed weight leg machine and released the weights as my legs gave way under pressure making a noise, almost immediately The assistant general manager Ian came up the stairs in an aggressive manor shouting who the f*** was that!! upsetting my wife and quiet a few other members, The day after my membership was cancelled for not replacing weights, It was a fixed weight machine you can not take the weights off????

I complained to head office and they sent me an email saying I was free to rejoin at any time so we did the day after the email, On our first visit we obeyed all rules and trained without any problems at all, the assistant general manager was there again and again giving uncomfortable looks, the day after even though I was told I could rejoin my membership was cancelled for unreasonable behavior?? Not once was my wife warned or membership cancelled. This is purely a racist or bias decision due to the fact I'm English. The gym group head office will take your money however let the managers treat there gyms like there own personal gym!! DO NOT JOIN

The staff are friendly the equipment is always well maintained and there's plenty of it

Love this Gym! First of all it’s a very spacious area up and downstairs so even when busy you can still train,. The PTs are excellent, always have time to offer advice or just a friendly chat, the gym is 24 hrs so it suits my 3 shifts pattern at work, the equipment is well kept and the cleaners do an amazing job keeping the place tidy, cannot fault Thegymgroup Ayr 👍

The premises can be dirty, the ladies changing rooms smell of sewage. Unable to identify staff sometimes as they don't wear a uniform. Some of the equipment is damaged with torn and cracked bits.

There are tares in the fabric of several pieces of equipment the fans on the machines need vacuumed and cleaned people leave things lying about and don't use lockers provided, makeup is smeared
along mirror ledge and floor.

Gym is great, clean and has everything you'll need, only occasional downside is it can be very very busy.

Some things that need repaired take ages to get repaired. Such as machines when out of order.
There is a stair grip also that has been broken for a week I nearly fell back down the stairs on it. This was after another grip breaking at start of the year,

Great gym and always kept at a high standard. Staff are great too and very friendly

The website is unproductive where is the pay as you go daily pass or 7 day pass.

Staff are brilliant, especially geo , loving it
