First visit to the store . Was very efficient and friendly and knowledgeable . Payment for item was in my account within the hour .

Visited today to sell some gold…purchased some items whilst there… Dealt with Rachel, a lovely & professional young lady… Given a very good price for gold and delighted with items I purchased… would definitely visit again and highly recommended…..

I found an old brooch that I presumed was costume jewellery. The large stone in the middle was unattached but still there. I noticed it said 375 (9ct gold) amongst other hallmarks so took it in to be valued at Chapel jewellers. He asked if he could pop out the non gold pearls which I agreed to. He came back with a mangled mess in bits and said it had tested for something else as well as gold and they weren’t bothered about it thanks. So I could’ve just attached the big stone and 2 pearls and worn it but now I can’t even find the bit with the hallmark on it - thanks for nothing. They really should have given me something for it, even something small as a good will gesture for completely ruining it.

Visited today, and were met and welcomed by members of staff Tommy and Rachel. A busy shop with such a nice relaxing atmosphere, we were able to leisurely look around at lots of lovely, reasonably priced jewellery. Tracy the owner served us and it was just a pleasure to meet with her, she is so personable, informative, kind and genuine - Chapel Jewellers give both a great deal on buying jewellery, coins etc, and sell at exceptionally good prices. Would highly recommend these guys.

If you’re selling 18K jewellery, make sure you get a second opinion on the quality and exact carats of your items before selling to this store. Three different times, Tracy claimed that most of my 18K items, roughly 20 pieces of jewellery which were all sourced from Italy and Dubai and HALLMARKED 750, were 17 carat and under. Consequently, they underpaid me for them. I didn’t mind cos at that time, I was short of options as I was relatively new in town. I’d been buying gold from Dubai and Italy for over 30 years! Never in my life had I ever had any jewellery undervalue 750 hallmarked 18K jewellery before my encounters with Chapel Jewellers. Still I didn’t mind. I was desperate.

Last time this happened, they underpaid me over £200. The calculation was almost 300% lower than the previous calculations hence my fury. Consequently, I decided to consult multiple jewellery stores to evaluate the actual carats of identical jewellery undervalued by CJ. All of them were confirmed to be full 18K. A goldsmith who had previously worked on two of the jewellery I sold on my last transaction was shocked to hear what had happened as he swore they were definitely 18K after testing them previously,

I’ve since switched to Lois Bullion, no fuss, no gimmicks. They paid me the highest rate and didn’t claim that my jewellery were under 18K.
I’ve found other women who were victims of this same carry on, all of whom have since stopped using Chapel Jewellers.
Strangely, the first thing Tracy said to me on the three occasions I transacted with CJ, even before inspecting my items was ”we need to test gold from Africans cos they come up short”. Very absurd and frankly bigoted statement considering the fact that Africa isn’t known for 18k jewellery making. The other African ladies also confirmed Tracy said this to them before proceeding to “wrongly” evaluate their jewellery. Most Africans source 18K from Italy or Middle Eastern countries. The actual gold standard countries for 18K. Why she’s got this strange perception of jewellery from Africans, I’ll never understand.
Anyway, lesson learnt. Never again

Took in a number of 9ct gold chains/bracelets (mostly inherited) this morning, having never done this type of thing before and feeling a bit wary of the process. The service was excellent and friendly. We had the option to leave the items with them and they would call me in about an hour. About 10 minutes later I was called with, what I consider to be, a very good valuation, which I accepted. By the time I arrived home, the funds had been transferred to my bank account. Such efficient service is all too rare these days.

I can’t recommend The Chapel Jewellers enough. I recently bought my fiancée’s engagement ring here and dealt directly with the owner, Tracey – and the whole experience was incredible.

Buying such an important ring can feel daunting, but Tracey made it so easy. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, guided me through the options, and never once made me feel pressured. Her knowledge and genuine care really stood out.

The ring itself is absolutely stunning and my fiancée was over the moon when I proposed. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Tracey went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and you just don’t get that level of service in the big chain jewellers.

If you’re looking for an engagement ring, wedding bands, or any special jewellery, I’d highly recommend Chapel Jewellers. I’ll definitely be back for our wedding rings.
