Another headline that flatout lies. Mitch Marner did not get a $14 million per year NHL contract as of the writing of this review (12:30 pm ET on June 22 2025). The article very clearly states that, for a variety of reasons, it is SPECULATED that he MAY get a $14 million AAV contract as a free agent, with the LV Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks two of the teams SPECULATED to be willing to offer that type of contract.
Whoever writes Sporting "News" headlines should be fired because they have NO journalistic integrity.

Billy Heyen in his March 28, 2025 article said Shohei Ohtani has been the best hitter in baseball while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The are no stats or matrix to back this claim. Aaron Judge has better stats across the board…these types of hyperbolic statements are far too frequent in your publications. The Sporting News used to be the Bible for baseball. Now it’s closer to the National Enquirer of baseball.

Most sports fans especially when their favorite team is going through coaching and personnel changes most fans look for up-to-date honest information this site provides nothing but misinformation what they call clickbait advertising I don't recommend going to this site unless you're living in a fantasy world there are plenty of other reputable and factual sites out there that can give you up-to-date information on your favorite team sites like the sporting news are set up to draw an individual's attention to a specific topic that they might be following and then ends up being a false headline and a false outcome .. this is worse than a tabloid magazine after I read all the misinformation in the sporting news I was waiting to see an article about an alien encounter

but after signing up it's not there....I can't believe we still have to get NHL Network!!!!
It's a little MISLEADING and shameful to be included in an article that is supposed to have accurate information like schedules, game stats etc.....
What else did you get wrong!
