Sony ruined web browser
I have three sony bravia google tv higher end TV’s bought for a reason for advertised strong chip performance so im able to use web browser. Within the last year 2025 they have ruined normal internet browsing now i have to use third party add on hardware to be able to stream from internet on TV. This is not acceptable I have payed not for this not for what Sony thinks. My TV’s will be replaced by Samsung never ever going to look back to Sony.
Top tier service from Sony
Ordered a 65 inch Sony Bravia 8 II on 12th December, which arrived yesterday. The ordering process was simple, had to wait due to lack of stock but I'm not surprised, the TV is gorgeous. The picture, sound quality, everything is as expected from a premium brand like Sony.
Waste of my money
Bought Sony WF-1000XM4 Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphone in Jan 2022. They no longer work. I wish I had checked the Amazon reviews first. Don’t waste your money on this rubbish.
The worst Customer Support ever!!
I would give -10 stars if possible. Never in my 50 years on this planet have I encountered such an appalling support interface as Sony's!!!! At first you are utterly dumbfounded how a £100bn Tech/Media company can construct such an utterly useless support system for its users, but of course you soon realise it is entirely designed only to take your money..........not give it back!!
Please don't take this as a slight on the "gamers" who have actually tried to help me resolve the issue as they are a credit to the community. However this only highlights how cheap and nasty this support system is, as Sony clearly doesn't employ Agents to assist you in the minefield of useless tabs when trying to navigate around such a pathetic website.
Just to prolong the frustration, when queueing to try and contact one of these mythical Agents it continually asks if you're still waiting?!?! Again, this is disgracefully designed to kick you out of the queue so that you can never contact them!!
Finally Amir, one of the 10 or so "gamers" I spoke to, actually shed some light on why my son never received the download add-on that I paid for. Hidden right at the bottom of a secondary tab in small writing, it states this add-on is for the PS4 not the PS5?!?!? Why on earth such a critical & fundamental piece of information is not integrated into the main title screen during purchase just staggers belief.........ahh silly me, of course it's designed to confuse and only take your money!!!
To expand on this, why does it even allow you to download add-on content for a game you don't own? Simple profit that's why!!!
All this to try and get a £7.99 refund?!?! If I'd known how much of my precious time over Christmas this debacle would have taken I'd have never bothered. Of course that is entirely what Sony is trying to achieve though by making the process so difficult that parents don't complain and get a refund......you have been warned!
£3,500 TV Still Unusable After Months – Sony’s Service Is Disgraceful
We attempted to purchase a Sony Bravia 9 85” TV in October with a £200 promotional offer. We correctly added the TV, wall mount, and installation to our basket, but Sony’s website failed with a known error when adding installation services. This happened outside business hours, leaving us unable to complete the order or contact support.
When we called first thing the next morning, Sony admitted this was a known issue on their website and apologised. However, because of Sony’s own technical failure, the £200 promotion expired overnight. We were assured a £200 voucher would be issued immediately and were instructed to purchase the TV without installation and call back to have installation added manually.
Sony then failed to send the promised voucher. I had to call every day for three weeks, repeatedly explaining the situation from the beginning, chasing a voucher that had already been approved. The lack of internal communication was astonishing.
The voucher finally arrived in mid-November. We purchased the TV on 19th November and immediately called to add the installation, as instructed. Sony confirmed the installation had been added successfully and told us to call again once the TV was delivered to arrange the engineer.
The TV was delivered on 1st December. We called Sony immediately and were told they would contact Order Work Limited to arrange installation within 2–3 business days.
Nothing happened.
When we contacted Order Work directly on 5th December, they confirmed Sony had never contacted them at all. When challenged, Sony admitted they had simply forgotten to do so.
As of 29th December, our £3,500 television is still sitting unopened in its box. We have been explicitly told not to open it until a Sony-certified installer attends — an installer who still has not been scheduled weeks later due entirely to Sony’s failures.
This TV was meant to be our first for our new home and purchased in October so we could enjoy it over Christmas. Instead, we’ve been met with broken promises, incompetence, and repeated excuses, all while being made to feel like we were the problem.
This is utterly unacceptable service from a so-called premium brand. Sony has wasted months of our time and left us with an unusable £3,500 product. I am disgusted by how this has been handled.
Avoid if you value your time, money, or sanity.

Sony Bravia....do not buy, we fell for the marketing rubbish, well over £1500 spent and 1 year later the TV failed, needed a new "board" costing over £500! Just not worth the cost if they are so unreliable. Will NEVER buy a Sony product again.

WARNING TO OTHER FOLK
Bought today from Currys a Sony Bravia 3 TV. Really excited to get home with it. Got it all mounted on my wall bracket and then noticed a small sticker on the screen showing a corner being peeled off. Thinking it was a protective screen for packing i started to peel it off only for the main screen to crack. My stomach turned over, i looked at the sticker again and realised it had a red circle with a line through it, the same as a no entry sign, so the sticker was telling you not to peel it off. Looking on line i can see its the anti glare film. With hindsight i feel pretty bloomin stupid, but if the sticker wasn't there i wouldn't have known there was a film on the screen. £500 smackers down the drain, just hope this review stops someone else making the same mistake.

Ordered a new tv at the end of November, delivery within 4 days. It was posted but stuck at the delivery depot. Unable to contact a courier. Phoned Sony several times to be told that they are waiting for a response from courier and get back to me. 9 days later !!!!! I had enough. Asked to cancel it. They refused to give me a refund untill the tv will be returned to them, despite it never has been delivered to me!!!!
Had to open a case on PayPal to get my money back. It took almost a month, got my refund on the 23rd of December. It supposed to be a Christmas gift for our family to use it over Christmas. Unfortunatelly there was not enough time to buy a different one from someone else.
Will never buy from Sony again. Customer service is atrocious and very unhelpfully.

Unbelievably poor for such a large company
Ordered a Sony Bravia TV on 27th November with a delivery date “from 10th December “ . This came and went with no contact from Sony. Managed to get through to the customer service team (was not quick or easy). They gave me a date of 16th December. Waited in and nothing, Contacted them again, was assured that my tv was in the warehouse waiting to be picked up , just needed to be booked in with the delivery company as was a two person delivery. Heard nothing more until they cancelled the order a week later with a generic email with no specific reason.

Why can't I contact Sony anymore?..
I have tried all ways of contacting Sony to ask why their XAV-AX6050 is no longer available in the UK and it seems they've made it impossible to contact them!! There chat is AI only, there is no email contact and certainly no phone number. Such a shame as I have always enjoyed their products. Maybe they are in trouble and no longer have a support team? Who knows!!

Sony Bravia, the worst television ever! Taking forever to 'retrieve data' (ie. load the picture), taking forever to change channels and constantly losing channels which means having to re-tune every time you switch on the tele. Sony's response: reset to factory settings (which doesn't work). I will definitely not be buying any other Sony products!
Paid for two PS5 controllers but Received One
Bought 2 PS5 controllers but only 1 was contained in the package. Only able to contact Sony through webchat initially and their resolution was to make a claim against DPD. However the carriage contract is between Sony and DPD and not me. Also, DPD is not at fault since the package was not damaged or tampered with. Someone at Sony either has made a mistake or they have dishonest employees. Finally able to speak to someone who said they would get back to us but no contact yet. Been buying Sony products for decades due to my perception that they were a quality firm. However this experience has destroyed that view, even if they now fix the problem.
Fast and excellent service
My PlayStation 5 controller stopped working 5 months after buying a new console. I called PlayStation and was advised to post the controller to them with their postage label which they emailed. I received a replacement several days later. Very fast service therefore I highly recommend Sony.
Absolute Scammers
WH-1000XM4 headphones with speaker blown exactly as the warranty ran out - not that it made a difference as the warranty only covers a repair anyway. Went to write a review and YOU CAN ONLY REVIEW PRODUCTS WITHIN THE FIRST 30 DAYS OF PURCHASE. Absolute scam, will never buy Sony again. Wankers.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced
After failing to deliver an order I've tried to contact Sony customer services. The online chat was absolutely useless. Took over an hour to get connected to an agent. Obviously a call center in some 3rd world country who didn't have a clue and basically fobbed me off. Then ended the conversation when I tried to ask further questions. Phoned uk customer service number three times. Each time they cut me off after over an hour of waiting in the queue. This is beyond a joke. They've taken my money, not sent the item, and now I can't even get to talk to someone who can give a satisfactory answer. Either send my order or give me my money back! Its beyond me how Sony think its acceptable to treat their customers this way.
C710 - Falling short of it's cheaper predecessor
I have always purchased Sony products as I believe they are of high quality and easy to use. I originally bought some C500 headphones and was very satisfied with them, when I eventually lost them, I thought an upgrade was in order and spent an extra £40 (around £100 in total) for the C710N Model.
I was immediately dissatisfied with the new product; the shape of them was flattened and when wearing them whilst cycling the wind hits them very harshly. You’re likely thinking "but this would be negated by the new feature of noise cancelling!" sadly no, even with noise cancelling the wind hitting the C710N is still worse than the C500 with no option of noise cancelling.
Okay, the noise cancelling being ineffective and having only one option aside, what else can they do? Ambient mode is a feature that was advertised and you are paying for on the product. The purpose of this is to be able to hear your surroundings whilst you listen to your Music. In a quiet office setting I'd admit this can come in useful, however outside, on the bustling streets of London, this is horrible to listen to. It wouldn’t be a problem if the ambient mode didn’t turn on every time I left a building or when I got on my bike; one minute you're enjoying your music on a leisurely ride, the next you're hearing the sirens of an Ambulance piercing into your soul - it sounded like how people with hearing aids describe turning them up too high.
Ambient mode shouldn’t have turned itself on like it did, I would disable it constantly in the app only to be disillusioned moments later. By tapping the left headphone you could cycle through, no noise cancelling, noise cancelling and Ambient mode. I couldn’t work out volume controls (on my previous it was press left twice to increase volume and hold to decrease).
I tried to return the product however was only afforded 30 days, when I tried, Sony website was experiencing technical issues, now unfortunately I am stuck with my purchase.
So to summarise - the C710N had problems with: the shape, the noise cancelling, the ambient mode, and finally, the price. Alternatively, the previous C500 were great value for money: good shape and ease of use.
