had a very disappointing experience with Smith Blinds due to poor and inconsistent communication
After paying for a such expensive curtain, my measuring appointment was cancelled and rescheduled with completely different times and originally scheduled. Once measurements were taken, I was told we would arrange installation when the curtains were ready. Suddenly, I got a phone call saying: the curtains are ready and we can install your curtains on Monday as we previously scheduled. No, we have not made any appointment yet
Communication then became chaotic. I received multiple calls and voicemails from different staff members, often giving conflicting installation dates and times. Confirmed appointments were repeatedly changed, sometimes without explanation, and I spent weeks trying to clarify arrangements. That even made me question my own memory. Luckily I had everything documented, recorded as well as stored communication in voice mails which confirmed the company’s inconsistency in communication
When the installer finally arrived, the workmanship was not as respected for someone who claims to have 42 years of experience. The curtain rail brackets were fitted unevenly without using any ruler to maintain an equal distance, and the curtains had to be taken back because they were about 5 cm too long. Plus the holes in wall left after this appointment I had to fill them myself
The confusion continued with further appointment changes, delays, and contradictory information from different employees in the company
Overall, Smith Blinds showed little regard for my time and energy. Constant miscommunication, repeated schedule changes and inconsistency turned a straightforward purchase into a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend them.
Document your appointments, times and dates and delays from the start. At the end you’ll pay lots of money for a disappointment.
