An absolutely amazing product that does all it purports to and more. Seldom do products surpass their promotion claims but this one does. As an early adopter the delay in production was frustrating but worth waiting for. I love the fact that I can easily remove it and use my bike for exercise on shorter rides but add it for longer ones so I can keep up with my " very cycle fit" partner. Also carrying bikes on the back of our classic camper is easy as the additional weight is removable. 10/10 Skarper

Thought the idea of cycling was cool but I was struggling with the hills in my area. Spent the last few weeks trying out the different kits I could use with my bike. All I can say is Skarper is leagues above the rest. Made the decision easy in the end haha

Tried Skarper on a demo ride after being somewhat sceptical the other day. I expected it to feel heavy or a bit awkward but amazingly it did not at all. The assist feels natural and the power when you hit a hill is right on the money. Completely changed my view!

Seriously amazing product! I originally thouhht it was just out of my budget but after speaking with their support team helped they helped me use my companies cycle to work scheme to get one with a nice discount. Very happy!

Scarper is a great device - does exactly what it claims. Disk drive is easy to install in place of the existing disc brake rotor, initial mounting of the Skarper unit very easy, but my bike (Halfords / Boardman MTX8.6) has a crank / offset on the chainstay bar which made adjusting the chainstay latch quite difficult. Even now it needs a good firm push to latch rather than the nice gentle click it should have. Some way of adjusting the angle of the chainstay bolt would help a lot. Only other grumble is the package was 3 days late in arriving so I didn't get a chance to fit it and try it out pre-Christmas. You need to use a more reliable service than FedEx.
Having said all that, and now had a chance to try it out - WOW! It completely lives up to all the hype!

A truly amazing piece of kit. Installing the unit on my bike didn't prove straight forwards, however the Skarper team were extremely helpful and my husband was finally able to fit the unit. Just returned from my first ride with the Skarper and wow! I live in a hilly area but eco assistance was more than adequate. I highly recommend this

Fantastic customer service sets the tone for a company and happy to say Skarper have it spot on!
Emailed them a question and got an instant response with photos. Can’t ask for more so bought their bike motor and backpack. Yes it’s at the pricey end, but happy to pay if this level of customer service continues.

I have used my Skarper for some 9 months now, both on local rides & shopping trips and in long distance touring, doing 45-50 miles a day. Even just using the ECO level, it has provided sufficient power for riding up hills and, being readily removable from the bike, the battery is very easy to charge. The new Skarper app has overcome the two issues I had - back-pedalling to switch the motor on and off, and very limited information about the battery charge level. A bit pricey maybe, but much cheaper than buying a half decent electric bike. It is a high quality unit and the level and speed of support is first rate. Definitely a five star+ product

The team were very good at maintaining contact and updates throughout the initial build up and roll out. I am one of the first / initial buyers, based in Channel Islands, and they were very good at keeping me informed. The package itself arrived quickly, is exceptionally packaged - very apple product. The manual was easy to follow - I did not have a tool for removing my type of rear disk so took it to the local bike shop - they removed my disk and replaced with the skarper micros clutch in less than 20 minutes (after wonder what witchcraft this was....). The rest was fitted by me in about 30 mins. The first time using it was unbelievable - I've used ebikes before - but having my own bike (carbon Orro terra C) suddenly take off like a rocket, but controlled, was amazing. I cycle a lot, but not as much as some - I use this to ease out the 7km cycle to and from work up over 155m of drop / hill & it makes such a difference - makes me very much more likely to get on the bike to cycle to and from work than use the bus or car. Major bonus is not being a dishevelled mess with either cycling into work or weekend social / pub outing. Would highly recommend this device for anyone who loves their existing bike, but would like something electric also. Saves me space in the garage (no need to put more hooks in the ceiling to store another bike) and I can charge it at work it I need to with a second charger I have! great product, Good company - Keep going!

Just done the Firmware update on the Skarper to support the new smartphone App. Makes a great product better.

I joined the launch crew as soon as I heard about Skarper. The team have been brilliant from installing the disc and even having to upgrade my bike as it is so old to upgrading the motor itself so you can change mode via your phone app. It means I can continue to cycle in my later years even in London! The unit is expensive but you can use the same motor on different bikes if they all have the disc. Can’t recommend Skarper enough

I have nothing but praise for Skarper, both as a company and as a product.
I was an early adopter, and from the original prototype development to the delivery of the working product - they kept me informed about progress the whole time. When it arrived, it did not disappoint! I have used other electric bikes in the past, but I wanted something that I could easily transfer between my folding bike (for holidays) and my main road bike, so Skarper seemed like a great solution. The device itself is built to last, and unlike some other bikes I've tried, it actually delivers power in a smooth, controlled way. It definitely outperforms all the e-bikes I've tried in the past. The price is admittedly quite high, but ultimately you get what you pay for - and if you're planning to use it on more that one bike, it suddenly becomes a no-brainer! Just recently they have released a firmware update that allows you to link it to your phone to monitor mileage and speed, which completes it as the perfect e-bike solution in my opinion. The help I received from Harry during the firmware update process was great, and in an age of increasingly bland automations providing so called 'customer care', it was brilliant to be able to talk to a real person face to face (well over a phone, anyhow), who is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the product. I can only wholeheartedly recommend Skarper to anyone who is thinking about going electric.

Great team, happy to help. Very engaged and keen to explore options obtaining the unit as well as making sure that the bike you have is suitable. I managed to get the unit through cycle to work scheme and am very excited and look forward to using the Skarper electric motor.

We received Skarper units for my and my wife's bikes in March 2025. My bike was very easy to set up as it already had disc brakes. My wife's bike had rim brakes so a local bike shop build us a new rear wheel using the original rim and spokes but with a hub which could take the Skarper disc. All worked with no problem and have been on a number of hilly rides which we used to avoid in the past!

We chose Skarper to electrify our bikes as the units can be removed to allow us to lift our bikes easily onto our car's roof rack and allow us to keep them safe and take them with us if we leave our bikes locked up while we are out and about.

Today with great help from Harry we quickly updated the software of our early units to allow us to use the new App which allows us to select the power mode and monitor the charge level from our phones. This is much more convenient than looking at the Skarper unit and now the system is perfect for our needs.

Brilliant product! I was part of the launch cohort earlier this year and so was lucky to get my hands on one of the first units. Totally transformed my enjoyment of cycling. I was happy with my Giant hybrid but just wanted a bit of assistance now and again rather than capitulating and going full electric. Skarper is perfect. I can quickly and simply attach when I need it or just leave off and have my old bike back when I'm in the mood. Power delivery is smooth and progressive and the unit is so simple to use. The new skarper app has addressed all my concerns as I now have accurate battery charge status and a super simple way to change power mode. It's not cheap but I've certainly no regrets buying it - and if you're happy with your current bike and just want a bit of electric help it can't be beaten. Much better than the other conversion kits I've used. Support from Harry has been first rate too. Well done skarper team!

The Skarper team have aced the product design. I enjoy just owning this elegantly engineered device, never mind how it is to use. However, using it is a joy.
I've clocked 750 trouble free miles so far. As a middle aged, mid(ish) fitness guy I want to cycle more, but would frequently have got put off by windy weather or the thought of commuting and arriving knackered and sweaty. I now do regular runs. I enjoy longer runs that ultimately hit the battery limit, with a short final leg completed under my own steam... A quick unclip and stow the depleted Skarper in a pannier, and I'm happy to push for home unaided.
Thanks to Harry for video call support for quick device update today. Looking forward to using the new app.

I'm lucky enough to have a picturesque but hilly commute to work through the Lake District. A Skarper makes light work of the hills! I don't arrive at work a sweaty mess, and it's a great alternative to driving. It's like having the strongest wind at your back 100% of the time. Try using a Skarper and not smiling.

The product is fantastic. I had it fitted locally and after a bit of email support from Harry I got it calibrated and it’s a life saver for my long uphill commute home. Took 10 mins off my 40 minute ride today. The downside is it is heavy to carry around as you can’t leave it on the bike naturally, but it’s a price worth paying.
