Recently, I purchased a Skoda Elroq from Sinclair Skoda in Newport, Gwent. From the outset, the experience was first class and the entire purchase process was perfect. After researching for and about an Electric Vehicle, I settled on the Skoda Elroq and found one that exactly met my requirements on the Sinclair Newport website. I contacted the dealer and all my queries were answered fully by the Sales team who demonstrated professionalism, detailed knowledge of the cars available, listened to my questions and comments and responded with comprehensive and easily understood answers. In particular, Richard Milner provided an outstanding service and made my purchase a pleasure. His courteous, engaging manner and clear professional knowledge of every aspect was impressive. His comprehensive support from start to finish was greatly appreciated. I am delighted with the car and recommend the Sinclair Skoda Newport dealership without reservation. Thank you.

Great service from Volkswagen - Newport. Especially Eliot who was exceptionally helpful in finding me exactly what I wanted. I randomly went in on a busy Saturday to have a look and Eliot spent a good amount of time with me looking for the car/spec that I wanted and ensuring the car and finance suited my needs. Nothing was too much trouble. I absolutely love my new VW!!

Absolutely shockingly poor customer service.
Arranged to test drive a vehicle on a given day and time. VW rep advised us to bring driving licence as ID. They took our full address so knew we had a 35 minute journey to reach their sales room.
When we arrived at the garage we were told the car had sold and we could not drive it, only see it.
No customer service staff had attempted to call us to avoid an unnecessary journey.
They were in no way concerned about the inconvenience or disappointment we experienced.
Even after we left there was no follow up phone call to apologise for any inconvenience.
I will not be recommending this garage and urge you to avoid.

My car is a Skoda Karoq, went in for its first service today. At sinclair skoda Newport in South Wales . I had pre paid 2 services when I bought the car through another dealer, but Sinclair group have taken over the franchise. I booked the car in for a service via phone and was immediately subjected to upselling tactics, brake fluid at £62 and other sundries like AC check. I did agree for the brake fluid change as the car is now 23 months old. So car goes in for service and I get a link to an inspection report, I click on the link to find a tabulated form with a menu and a traffic light system , 3 items are lit up in red meaning immediate work required. The first are the wiper blades front and rear, the car has travelled 9900 miles basically new, the blades operate perfectly or at least did prior to the car going in, the cost £81.72, the next item is a head scratcher , it refers to the rear right tyre which according to the report has 5mm of tread the same as the other side but they want £25 to do "something" to the tyre, it doesn't say what , just asks for permission to collect £25. Now as you can gather I refused authorisation on all items. This is a trade upselling scam , well documented it attacks vulnerable people into believing their cars require replacement parts of high margin wear and tear items , pressurising them in to spending unnecessary monies. Whilst not illegal I find this practice scandalous UPDATE picked my car up from the dealer this morning, the service manager saw my review and wanted to "talk over the issues" when I confronted him with my assertion that the traffic light system was in my case nothing more than a pressurised sales scam he firmly pointed out the company has a "Duty of Care" to inform customers of serious defects . So, my perfectly functioning wiper blades labelled with a red flag as urgent repair was being flagged up as a duty of care to pressurise me into spending £82 when I can actually buy the 3 blades for less than £30 if I actually needed them replacing which I don't. This narrative or excuse is absolute nonsense and designed to trick or fool the vulnerable or unsure public into parting with their money. I was seriously thinking of buying a brand new Skoda Elroc pre Christmas , but following this experience I certainly would not deal with this company and tragically for Skoda I probably will have to end my association with the brand, shame as they make really great cars, I may contact Skoda in Milton Keynes as I feel very strongly about this experience , One final note, the Service manager did conduct himself in a very calm and professional manner throughout

Very professional from the start, Elliot was more than patient with me while choosing the right car for my needs and sat and went through everything over and beyond even stayed after work to help put my mind at ease for getting me started as I haven’t had an automatic before. Can’t recommend them enough they truly are amazing

Exceptional service from the start to the finish.

Overall very good. The staff at Sinclair VW Newport, including Phil Parry, were polite and friendly throughout the process of purchasing the T-Roc.

The Sinclair showroom in Newport have been fantastic in helping deliver a new car to us today. In particular Adam was very informative, attentive to detail and really helped us through the process smoothly. He was extremely polite and professional, and we would highly recommend to ask for him if you are looking to buy a new car.

My review is based on experience as a purchase and seller.

Purchasing:

The retailer like many (in VW excessively) likes to inflate car valuations on sale to get the top prices then of course here comes the finance agreement on top win win. My advice is to get a car valuation off line one which repairable and just see how much it’s true value is.

Selling:

Do NOT part ex or sell your car with VW as they always offer you a silly price for example just offered me 11k ok a vehicle (same spec, less milage than there listing) that they are selling for £17,800k

I sold the vehicle for £13,700 via a car auction site. Why would anyone gift VW another win win at your expense. They state they have overheads to re-list the vehicle of £2000. Even then they would still make a very handsome profit. Seemingly and corruptly they want the penny and the bun with us customers not cared about (unless they are taking your cash you get a free coffee)

In a nutshell they have lost a future customer and advise all to think twice when part exchanging or giving a car back on PCP. Make it work for you and take a slice of the cake not give it to the greedy bellies of the riches!
