I consider myself a decent to good writer but sometimes it's hard to remove myself from the framework of my one thoughts and pick the relevant information that is worded nicely. Having the second set of eyes that knows how to orient my essays in a medical school application context was extremely helpful. Especially in that busy time period around June it was great to have quick turnaround in my feedback and my consultant and I were able to get into a good workflow. I can only imagine what my application would have looked like if I didn't have the extra help.

Shemmassian Consulting is amazing. My advisor was very supportive and painstakingly edited all of my primary and secondary essays down to the minute details to optimize my application. He kept me accountable throughout the process, ensuring that I wrote and revised my essays in a timely manner. He was very quick with his edits and responsive with his emails, but did not "hand-hold" me throughout the process, which led me to become a better essay writer overall, which will certainly help me in the future when applying for residency. I was able to gain acceptance to a solid MD school which I definitely wouldn't have been able to without his help. 10/10 recommend!

I had a non-traditional pathway to medical school and Shemmassian Academic Consulting helped me during the process despite the challenges, first for MCAT prep and then for interview coaching. Communication with the agency was very timely and professional. I immediately was linked to a tutor and in a few days I received my textbooks and other materials. My tutor was very knowledgeable and accommodating and tailored my study plan to my demanding schedule. I was most satisfied with the level of organization of my sessions and the ample resources I had access to for practice and in the end, my practice exam scores aligned with my actual MCAT score, which was reassuring. For the interview prep, my experience was equally positive and I felt tremendously prepared for my medical school interview. Most importantly these coaching sessions made me feel confident and excited about the interviews instead of being intimidated by the process. Overall, I am very pleased with Shemmassian Academic Consulting. Everyone in their team is well organized, helpful, accommodating and they give great advice and services to prospective medical school applicants. Even though the price tag may be a little steep for many people I think that the cost is justified by the fact that medical school applications are so daunting and unpredictable that it is good to have someone else with experience in the field to make the process a little more manageable and less stressful.

I recently completed a medical school mock interview with a Shemmassian interview specialist, and I would definitely recommend the service to any applicant. The specialist not only ran through several structured questions with me, but also gave me tips to boost my confidence and followed up with written notes. Overall, I felt very comfortable with the specialist and confident going into my interview!

Although my MCAT score was mediocre, I received numerous MD and DO interview invitations with Shemassian Consulting’s help. They helped me decide which activities best highlighted my individual attributes and made me stand out as an applicant. With their feedback, I was able to write a personal statement that told a unique and interesting story, which I feel is a large part of what made my cycle go so well. Not only did my consultant help guide me with the basic parts of the application, but he also gave advice on who to ask for letters of recommendation from, whether to switch jobs, and how to choose between 2 volunteer activities I was passionate about.

In October of this cycle, I had to start turning down interviews as I had been interviewed with and accepted at several great DO programs. Applying to medical school is an arduous journey, and Shemassian gives step by step instructions on how to approach the application process in a bite sized manner. I enjoyed the feedback I had from real doctors who had been through this process before. While I considered myself a great applicant with my GPA, MCAT and 10,000 hours of clinical experience, I was having trouble pinpointing and putting in to words why I love medicine so much and how I wanted to help other people. The guidance I received was invaluable and was provided back to me within 48 hours.

It should be noted that while Shemassin is very powerful, you must put your own effort in to get results. You get out of it what you put in.
