Reasonable prices, fast delivery and an easy to use website.

Website easy to use. Service excellent. Ordered on Wednesday afternoon, delivered on Thursday morning. Really couldn’t be any better. Will definitely be back for more fabric!

Order was easy and prompt. Very happy with the items (range of basics from pins to needles to cotton).

I contacted sew essential for advise regarding a part for my sewing machine after watching their helpful and friendly YouTube videos (thanks Lucy). Their response was abrupt and unfriendly. I am a novice (hence I'm watching YouTube and asking for advice) and whilst Irena advised the correct part for me she was belittling and basically told me to look in my manual and follow it

Wonderful customer service for a mistake of my own making!

I placed an order with Sew Essential late Sunday morning. Then realised I had forgotten one item…!
Sent an email asking if I could update the order and got a reply back within an hour on the Sunday afternoon.
I was asked to place another order and told that my postage would be refunded.
I received notification of the refund from PayPal later the same day. And an email Monday morning saying my two orders would be despatched as one today.

Lucy from Sew Essential has some wonderful content on You Tube. I've ordered several times from them and always received good customer service and fast delivery. Fabric prices are also very reasonable. Recommended.

I rang the shop for advice on buying a new sewing machine and overlocker. This was a significant purchase as I had been saving to get more advanced machines now that my skill levels have increased. Irena was wonderful and so helpful.

I ordered both but as the Pfaff sewing machine I had ordered was not actually in stock when they checked, they upgraded the model to make the delivery in time for me to enjoy whilst I had holiday leave.

Both machines arrived the following day and I was so excited to get started. Unfortunately, the lead was incorrect, it was the US version. I contacted the shop and they immediately sent a lead out which arrived the following day. I had problems locating different items as they were in the machine and Irena patiently worked her way through to get me up and started.

Good customer service is easy to achieve at point of sale, however exemplary customer service is when something hasn't gone to plan and all the stops are pulled out to correct the situation.

I was concerned about buying such expensive equipment online, however I have no hesitation on recommending the shop and will go back to them when it is time for me to buy machines in the future.

I just bought a new sewing machine from this company and I am absolutely delighted. I have purchased on-line from them before and have always been impressed by their service. I wanted to upgrade to a machine with more features so I contacted Sew Essential for advice. They emailed and phoned me and were so helpful in making my decision. I bought a machine I hadn't previously considered and it's fantastic. It arrived by courier the day after I ordered it. I also love their YouTube videos on sewing tips and techniques. This is a company that knows it's products, is happy to help and meets the needs of the sewing community.

I would definitely recommend this company and will be using them again in future. Fabulous, quick service. I ordered a pattern on Wed 11 Jan around lunchtime, later that day I received an email saying it had been dispatched and it arrived on the Friday. That is incredible service.

Their website is very easy to use and the ordering process worked very well. Confirmation of order was extremely quick as well.

So as far as service goes, I don't think they could have been any better. Fabulous service

Ive recently been thinking about buying an overlocker /coverlocker - (Ie: if I need one / what difference it will make to my sewing and what model to buy!). Spending lots of time on YouTube to do my research on these questions I came across Lucys brilliant clips which helped me to learn SO much ( I have actually subscribed for the first time ever as they cover so many topics I will need). This meant that I included Sewessential in the places I might buy from. However I still had a number of questions as this is a significant once-in-15-years purchase for me. Of all the places I asked, Sewessential responded quicker (same day) AND most fully. Irena has been awesome - she has given me not only answers to my varied questions but also extra information that might be useful (including tips on how to save money on thread etc). A couple of other places didnt even reply! As a Result of Irena’s exemplary care and advice and Lucy’s YouTube lessons I have bought my machine and feet from here.. oh - AND it all arrived the next working day. Having experienced a LOT of bad or indifferent service from all sorts of suppliers, it has been not only a pleasure but a breath of fresh air - and made the big expenditure even more fun! This is now my go-to place for all things sewing

I emailed with a query about my order and was so pleased to get an immediate response, and then some very helpful, friendly advice from Irena. She really went above and beyond. My delivery arrived swiftly too. Will definitely be ordering from Sew Essential again.

Our order was delayed in Christmas post but would not allow a return and instead we received an incredibly unhelpful and inaccurate response to our communications.

I originally contacted Sew Essential as my daughter needed a pattern in a hurry. They rushed me the pattern express delivery. It was such a good experience that when I came to need a sewing machine for my daughter it was the first place that came to mind. I sent a message explaining what my daughter needed and the machine she had been using. Irena asked if she could call me to explain the benefits my daughter would gain with various machines/brands. We chatted for quite some time with Irena answering all my questions and giving me lots of advice. I took her advice and ordered the recommend machine. The whole service was superb. I can’t think of a way the experience could have been improved.

I’ve ordered from Sew Essential a few times now and the items have always arrived on time. The prices are usually very competitive and the range is vast. I also appreciate their paper-only packaging on the last delivery.

Having had to both request a return and cancel part of an order I can also say that the support has been very proficient and expedient in dealing with these situations and the refunds have arrived promptly, although the correspondence does seem a bit defensive on occasion.

Look forward to shopping there again soon :)

Placed two orders for patterns each time they haven't had the patterns in stock. Their communication is poor and not very apologetic. I waited 5 weeks for the second order and they couldn't predict when they would have it in stock, although their website still showed it in stock. I won't be ordering from them again.

Please avoid,avoid,avoid. Buy your patterns from eBay or your local shops as they have charged on top of my bill 20%vat ???? I'm not a business, I have never paid vat on top of anything I have bought before. Yes things might include vat, however I did not realize until I had put order through that vat was added. Also one of the patterns was a PDF????? It states a clothes pattern on their website. Much cheaper to buy elsewhere. Please avoid them scamming and putting their vat bill onto the customer!!!!!!!! Also can buy the pdf at half the price on Etsy, eBay and other websites . Support your small local businesses Disgusted buyer who won't use them again

I ordered some crepe fabric and thread. As I’ve ordered from them before and had good experiences I thought I’d make an account too. I got my order acknowledgment immediately, then the next day I went into my account to track it but nothing was in the ‘my orders’ section. I emailed them and got a reply the same day (within 3 hours) to say that the order was fine and to make sure I was logged into my account when ordering otherwise it goes through as a one off order. Seems I created the account after I’d ordered! So, my fault. The parcel arrived only a few days after ordering. So, another good/quick experience and excellent customer service from Irena.

I ordered a pattern from them on 5th May 2021. i got an email acknowledgement but since then have heard nothing.
I went into my account to check the order on my account . it said there were no orders but they I have charged my credit card £27. I emailed them to say that as it was taking so long I wanted to cancel the order but so far not received a reply.
I will not be ordering from them again and will be contacting my credit card company to get the money back

Ordered a dress pattern, on 24/04/22, payment taken
Immediately, still waiting for pattern to arrive.
No customer service available or reply to my email enquiry requesting a delivery date. Very disappointing.
