Salford Van Hire Omdömen 

A bit of a mixed bag really. I hired a car for a week but wasn't told about the excess waiver.When I returned it the guy said he could see a scratch and a dint on the front passenger door.To be honest the damage if any was so minor that I couldn't even see ot feel it. If there was damage at all it could have been done when I was parked up as somebody had moved the wing mirror in on one occasion . Also he wrote on the form about a burn hole in the front seat that I know for a fact was already there as I saw it on the first day. To be fair the staff were nice and they were easy to get in touch with and common sense provailed in the End when my £500 deposit was retured. Also a big shout out to keith in the office who rang me back with an update on what was happening

Can only say that the people who have left negative reviews must have gone to a different place from me! Service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Booking on the website was dead easy and made pick up really quick and hassle free. Had a great Automatic Transit for a couple of days, van was new, clean, couldn't fault it. Returned the van full as advised to do, and nothing extra charged when van was checked. Deffo using again next time need a car or a van

There's a reason why this company has such a terrible rating on here and it's because they're awful... really awful.

From making you wait an hour, to giving you a vehicle with faults and then stiffing you to "top up" when you filled to the click and beyond at the petrol station.

...but if that's not bad enough, they'll call you a liar if you write them up.

Sixty years in business? They couldn't have been this bad.

Unbelievably bad!

Yes, it took over an hour to get a van that was prebooked! Lots of staff, not that busy but nobody cares and their systems are shocking (lost emails)

Then the van had a gearbox error, plus tyre pressure warning, that we weren't supposed to bother about.

Coming back they ripped us off for diesel... we'd filled to full (click off) but according to them you can still squeeze more in the tank if you turn the nozzle sideways and "they always do that"... but of course that bit extra doesn't show on the gauge!

Frankly couldn't be much worse... so if you can find anyone else, pay more and go there!

Worst Customer Service ever!! You'll wait over an hour just to pick up something you've pre booked - when there was NO ONE ELSE IN THE OFFICE TO SERVE. Then the truck will have loads of faults appear while you're driving it. Then they'll charge you extra for petrol after you've just filled it up at a local petrol station - because you've gotta turn the hose on its side to ensure the tank it completely full!! Outrageous!! Never use this company. They're only really interested in commercial business anyway!! Be warned!!! Stay clear!! No idea about customer service- so it really should not be in BUSINESS to the public.

You need to give driving lessons to those mugs renting your vans, Pateley Bridge today, mug in your van took the parking space I was reversing into. Your van your review. Tough!!

I rang to enquire about hiring a van to be told they don’t have any available as Royal Mail have booked them all out and that account holders (companies) have first priority and they mostly always are fully hired out because of them. So general customers haven’t got a chance basically. I spent 30 mins looking through their website deciding which vehicle out of the many options displayed would be suitable, it would have been helpful if the website informed that there was no vans available. Don’t bother with Salford Van Hire if you’re just looking for a day or two hire for general usage, you’re better trying elsewhere.

I have been using Salford Van Hire Manchester for over 2 years. As I lived abroad I was often travelling backwards and forwards to the UK. Andrew was always extremely helpful and accommodating - he fixed me up with a car even if I only gave him 24 hours notice of my arrival. Prices were great compared to main stream car hire places. I can't speak highly enough of the team that looked after me and especially Andrew.

The service at the Leeds depot is appalling .
The staff on the front desk need to be educated on customer service .
They are so rude not only to my self but I have witnessed this on several occasions to other customers .
It seems a chore every time I go in to hire a vehicle .
To describe the Personel I’ll try my best .
The same two employees I find rude and unhelpful with seemingly long faces on every visit are the female who works there Eastern European at a guess plus a large type male with an uncut messy beard is the best way I can describe them without knowing there names .
I found the manager to be very helpful so no issues there.
I would say I have spent over £10K with this company over the last 2 years but I’m happy to say I will be taking my custom else where in future and would certainly not recommend them to any body else .
Disgusting attitude from the 2 on the front desk as mentioned above .
As the front of house staff I believe Salford van hire are employing the wrong people at this present moment in time .
So glad I don’t have to visit the leeds depot anymore as I really didn’t look forwards to the times when I had to visit .

I would like to raise a concern regarding the professionalism of certain staff members at the Salford location. In particular, I have observed that Scott does not always interact with trainee staff in a professional manner. I have also heard that some new employees have left their roles due to similar experiences with this individual.

Additionally, there seems to be an issue with some long-standing staff members who act as though they have authority over others, which creates an unwelcoming environment for new employees. The training provided is not as supportive or encouraging as it should be, making it difficult for new hires to learn their roles effectively. Furthermore, management does not address concerns promptly, which only worsens these issues and negatively impacts staff morale. I believe that improving communication, training, and managerial responsiveness would help create a more positive and productive work environment for everyone.

Hired a 4m van this weekend from the leeds depot, very professional service from start to finish, the staff were really helpful and professional, the price was unbeatable. The van was quite new and really clean . Would definitely recommend Salford. Will definitely use them in the future. Thanks guys

Hired a 7.5 ton van for two days - when returning the van less than a mile away from the depot i fully filled the tank with nozzle in tank fully eith bend on nozzle downwards (as is normal) until the fuel automatically stopped filling, then pulled nozzle backward out of tank slightly till click stop filling twice over -
(i brimmed it)
BUT when i returned the van "with needle bending past full" they proceeded to put their fuel filler in tank and turn the bend on end of filler nozzle upside down and then started to fill till it gushed out all over the side of van and floor - thus managing to get £8. Fuel charge to be taken off my deposit 🤔 i explained what i had just witnessed to the person in office but was basically just ignored and charged ! £8 isn't alot of money to moan about but its feeling ripped off or being scammed (as other reviews state) that's Very upsetting and why i have felt the need to share this with people who may be considering renting a vehicle from Salford Van Hire - SO BE AWARE NO MATTER HOW FULL YOU THINK YOU HAVE FILLED THE VEHICLE YOUR RETURNING - THERE'S ALWAY ROOM TO OVERFILL ONTO THE GROUND AND CHARGE YOU AN IFLATED FUEL PRICE - This practice of "OVER FILL & CHARGE" which i get the impression is a routine done thing at Salford Van Hire makes me mistrust the firm and i will never use them again - My advice would be to go elsewhere for van hire!!

Pathetic service. Advertised vans they don’t even have then want to know everything about why you want it. …. Avoid

I called to enquire about van hire for August. We are on 31st May.
Told me they were fully booked till September. Yet website doesn't provide this information. So why have customers waste their time. Information should be readily available, clear and informative. True representation of poor customer relations!!

Scammers!! Do not even bother with these people.
They give you a faulty van full of problems so they can take your deposit amount and not give it back.

Used SVH 3 times in the last most for a 3.5t Luton van. Each time the staff have been great easy to deal with and because you don’t have to pay a deposit to secure the rental it is easy to change dates a so needed to.
The staff at the desk, handover staff and those who receive the vehicle back have all been extremely welcoming professional and friendly.
The price form what I needed was the cheapest in the area.

Scammers and blackmailers
Most hire firms get you to full out all the agreements etc and take £1 deposit so they have your card details. This lot want either £100 or £500 up front, with your hire fee. Then when you return the vehicle as full of fuel as when you got it, there's a problem. They put the nozzle just into the tank and squeeze more in until it flows out and then charge you an extortionate rate. When you query it they say things like " you've just seen us put more in, maybe there was a bubble in the tank, maybe the nozzle you used to fill up was too long"
Absolute rubbish. No other company does this. The fuel gauge is showing full.
Anyway, argue as much as you like and they refuse to give you back your £100 or £500 they already have. Forcing you to pay it.
Absolute criminals.
