Extremely helpful. Considered my query thoughtfully and carefully, and were great to deal with!

I asked for advice and was responded to straight away with very comprehensive information.

Useless.No-one should donate. Reported deliberate harassment and killing of wildlife in a public park and they just said 'oh you go and report it we're too busy!' Doing what? Raising money so someone can be on a chat telling you they can't do anything?

They won't help a trapped pigeon. They say they prevent cruelty, but they aren't.

Update: I read and followed the advice. Still had a distressed pigeon in my flat for 72 hours and my kitchen is now a biohazard.

I was on the phone for one hour, telling them about a trapped dear, location sharing the lot,to be told at the end of the conversation no body is available to help. Why have we got the RSPCA you should be ashamed of yourselfs. I was told they was bad but I thought I will give them the benefit of the doubt. You won't be getting any more donations from me.

Many years ago I naively donated to this corporation masquerading as a charity, but after several negative experiences, they'll never see a penny from me again.

They're disinterested in helping animals in distress. They find excuses NOT to help. This happened 3 times.

The final straw was when I found a little dog that had very obviously been taken into the woods and killed with bricks and left there. It may have had a chip to aid identification. But Rspca were not interested in investigating this obvious animal cruelty case and became overtly hostile towards me.
They virtually accused me of making it up. Their followers on social media joined in the bullying and xenophobic behaviour against me based on details about my ethnicity gleaned from social media. What a shame you don't investigate animal cruelty with the same vigour.

Rspca staff also tried to pressure me into providing my sensitive personal data while themselves hiding behind their corporate name.

I was left distressed and concerned for my own safety.

Rspca has zero concern for animals, it is just another demonic corporation that focuses only on revenue collection.

A vile, nasty, greedy, xenophobic corporation that enables and facilitates the abuse of God's creation.

One star is far too much for this “Charity”
I contacted them due to an injured stray walking on three legs. A foot covered in blood, cuts all of it and an infected eye.

The rude woman said they do not have any resources. (Even though the take 150 million each year in donations to help animals).

I asked for a code to take it to the vet. Which is usually £50 towards a bill of £160 - £180 for a consultation, antibiotics and perhaps pain relief. I was told they are no longer giving codes to help stray sick or injured animals.
I speak from experience as I have rescued and helped 27 strays. I currently have 12 cats due to the fact there is no where for them to go and the RSPCA do not care in the slightest.They give pay there CEO’s and shareholders a healthy wage so animals suffer. They care the modern day scam artists.

They are disgusting people! Another cat that will end up dead thanks to the RSPCA!

In answer to your reply, your website currently advertises (amongst other benefits) a 24/7 staff counselling helpline, just curious to know if you're still able to run that during the night or if you've had to make a difficult decision to prioritise resources on what's most important?

I have photos and video footage of this cat looking in a worse state than some of the animals that needed to be rescued on your primetime television advert and the fact that this cat is now dead (and was last seen alive the day that your officer said he "had life left in him") speaks volumes as to how desperately in need of help this animal was.

Unfortunately, I am disabled and do not have a car so could not take this cat to the vet (as I told the numerous people I spoke to regarding this cat), I rely on my local vet to come to my home to see my cat. Also, as your inspectors have an annual salary of £24,000 - £38,000 and advertise themselves as rescuers of animals in need, I would have expected that taking a sick animal to the vet fell more within their purview than mine.

You have taken pains to emphasise that that you have no more legal powers than any member of the public to help sick and injured animals and that you actively advise members of the public to just take these poor, unfortunate animals to a vet themselves, rather than contact you. May I ask exactly what is the point of your organisation any more?

In my opinion - and from your abysmal Trustpilot rating, it would seem that it's just not my opinion - you have ceased to be fit for purpose. My cousin is a volunteer with the badgers trust and has his mobile phone switched on 24 hours a day and he, along with fellow unpaid volunteers, will attend to sick and injured wildlife (not just badgers) at any time of the day and night. Over the years I have contacted many animal charities for wild animals in distress, most recently South Essex Wildlife Hospital and Fox Angels (both excellent animal welfare charities) and both times animal rescuers made themselves available during the night. Although it was your utterly ineffectual response in daytime hours that was the real problem for this cat.

I really do despair at your attitude. Do you have any idea of how poor your reputation is now? Another unpaid volunteer I spoke to regarding this experience (unfortunately too late for the cat in question) with an organisation called Pippa's Army explicitly told me never to go to the RSPCA, that everyone they knew that worked with animals thought you did more harm than good.

It would seem that the public has lost confidence in your organisation and with good reason.

I recently contacted the Team at RSPCA, for some guidance on Birdfeeding .
I am pleased to say the Team replied swiftly , giving me advice on how to safely feed the birds whilst there is a disease being transmitted via regurgitated feed from flat bird feeders .
I sent a second email with pictures of my bird feeder I had made and again,the Team replied and advised that perhaps I could hang fat balls or a hanging feeder off it .

I have recently adopted a rescue poodle from RSPCA Block Fen. The RSPCA were involved with the appalling situation of finding over 200 poodles in a horrific hoarding situation. The poodles were living in truly unbelievable conditions. I have seen nothing but the greatest compassion, and care for the animals during my contact with the RSPCA. Tiffany and team have provided honest information about the health of my aged 'end of life care' poodle and have given the greatest loving rehabilitation whilst Stanley was in their care. The RSPCA could not have done more and is such a life-line to animals in such circumstances. I have nothing but praise for them.

Sent 2 emails about dog neglect and couldnt be bothered to respond,these cowboys are worse than the owner,get gone and fold,useless hacks

Uncaring organisation

Very friendly and helpful staff. Always prepared to go the extra mile. Nothing they won't do to secure the safety of animals.

Following a neglect case I logged.
The call handler was incredibly caring and listened patiently.
An Officer was dispatched promptly, called me to clarify the situation, and later followed up with an update.
Unfortunately, I missed that final call, but the message left for me- although the outcome was upsetting, it was one I understand was inevitable.

I’ve made a donation in the poor dog's memory as a small gesture of my appreciation.

They told me they wouldn’t come out to check on a dog that was potentially being neglected and left alone in a house day and night unless I went inside myself and reported back on the dog’s condition. I’ve also heard multiple other stories about the RSPCA failing animals that needed help.

Appalling organisation. They facilitate extremists to perpetrate lies about greyhounds they allege are missing but who are actually not missing but safe and well. I have also known them harass bereaved families having been left a % of an estate as a legacy. They demanded to know the value of every household item, many only of value to family and also threatened court action over a car sold to a dealer as part of the estate. Scavengers is what they are.

I inquired about adopting a dog, but I live in Germany, and didn't know that the rules had changed for UK pets, and that the UK Pet Passports were no longer valid. The RSPCA was the only place to tell me this. No other place even mentioned it. Despite being disappointed, I am glad to have been told, so that I don't waste any more time.

I have been a supporter for many years and have seen the amazing work the RSPCA does. They are stretched to the limit with resources but genuinely do their best for animals in need. I have found their response to my appeal for help and information quick, thorough and pleasant. They witness the most horrific abuse and fight cases in court that change the lives of animals and laws to protect them. The world is a better place because of the RSPCA and I am sad to see some unsubstantiated, poor reviews written by unrealistic members of the public. Perhaps the cyber critics would do well to find out more about the staffing levels, pressures and hard work of this brilliant charity.

Disgusted with the lack of help given on a webchat with Ryan L:
My daughter is seriously ill and been taken into Hospital so her dogs are left alone in the house as she lives in her own house 10 mile away. My wife is disabled and I am 78 year old looking after our own dog. I rang the RSPCA to ask advice regarding rehousing and Ryan refused to help or advise. All he could do was tell me it is the next of kin legal responsibility quoting "you have to deal with it ". Meanwhile the dogs are alone in the house so we are trying to visit twice a day as well as Hospital visits and care for our own dog. Not very helpful or ethical response.

I understand this is a charity but this should not in any way impact the care provided to animals in need. I am disgusted to say that after several concerned neighbours reported a very poorly, starved and neglected cat the RSPCA have closed the case with no further action, leaving the cat in exactly the same condition. I am shocked at the lack of care from this charity that ‘helps animals in need’. We must do better, any animal suffering should not just be dismissed.
