We took our vehicle in with gearbox issues, having waited 2 weeks for them even to look at it & at least 20 unanswered phone calls I went in to be told it would be looked at & they would ring back. Scott blamed technicians on the sick. No call back & numerous more unanswered calls resulted in me going back again, sob sob stories so we took the vehicle away - not a way to run a business!!!

In our experience customer service is not only none existent but the staff are rude, argumentative, abrasive and disrespectful. If you want to buy an MG go to a different dealer. We had an issue on a 3 month old car which was bought at Richard Hardie Silverlink, we felt they should have resolved this but categorically refused to so we went to Vic Youngs in South Shields and they resolved it within minutes and were happy to do so. Well done Vic Youngs, Richard Hardie need to take a leaf out of your book. Would definitely not recommend buying from Richard Hardie.

Do not buy a car from this dealership- it is the worst! We bought a brand new MG from Richard Hardie, which started displaying faults almost immediately. They couldn’t care less about offering after-sales care and have been a total nightmare to deal with. They have bungled repairs, told us numerous times that they’ll call and then left us high and dry, were really rude to me on the phone and then ignored a formal complaint to their head office. We still have numerous faults with the onboard computer and they will not help us at all. Do yourselves a favour and go elsewhere.

I was looking for a car to teach my daughter to drive in. I was met by Ryan Knox whilst looking around the cars. I explained what I needed. Ryan did a fantastic job of finding the right car. The purchase more than matches my expectations and I was happy with the trade in. Many thanks Ryan.

Cannot begin to express how disappointed i am. I had an extremely positive experience buying my car here, only to have the battery completely knackered and dead just 3 months (and 8 days) after buying it.
To then be told there is nothing that can be done as its over the 3 month warranty (not even by 2 weeks.. by A WEEK) out of the goodness of their hearts for selling me a car with what was essentially a near dead battery.
Its safe to say i won’t be revisiting nor trusting to buy another car from here. As a 21 year old girl who was super excited to get her Jeep, im left with a dead car in my driveway with no other option but to pay out over £100 for a new battery just 3 months after buying the car. Its unheard of! So so SO disappointing

My Partner and I bought a MG ZS limited edition from Richard Hardie Silverlink last year. Within 4 days there was a clunking sound, and when I rang back I was told to see how it goes!!!!! I spoke to the Ashington branch, who was more helpful, and then spoke to their GM or aftersales manager, as I have been told since. It needed new brake discs and they also did the strut top mount!!!!
This did not work and it was back and forth over a few weeks until I eventually rejected the car.
I was promised 3 years' worth of free servicing, floor mats, and a free MOT if I bought another car with them, As Ashington had been a lot better than Silverlink I give them the chance. This car had to go back, as all of the brake pads needed to be done, and 2 brake discs, which they did fix. I did ask for a letter at the time for the free servicing and was told that it would be put onto the system as this was the safer way (by Hannah who has left). I rang Craig (service manager) to book iot in for my service (who was there when I had all of my issues with the 1st car) and he said it wasn't on the system and that I would have to speak to Simon the sales manager. I rang and spoke to Simon, and his response was "I don't know why you have rang me" I explained Craig had told me to ring. I then asked who the new GM was to be told I could only speak to the aftersales manager, who was Craig, who I had just been on the phone to!!!!!!!
Richard Hardie has just 2 customers, as my daughter is looking for a new car and I would have went back to them for my next car if this hadn't happened.

I even took a service plan out with my 1st car with them, and instead of transferring this, I cancelled this due to the promises they haven't kept. They have a record of this too!!!
I am now short of money, as I have had to pay for a service in one go, instead of monthly payments, which I would of done

Please do not use Richard Hardie for purchasing a car. I have had nothing but bad service from them. They were all smiles before I made the purchase, but as soon as they had my money, they didn’t want to know me.

I have had several issues with the car, including having no undertray on it, tyres that were at just about the legal limit which need replacing and a broken LPG tank that I had to repair with the manufacturer a matter of days after buying it.

Also, I was promised a free service when I bought the car. When I enquired what kind of service this would be (i.e. full service or just oil/filter change), I was constantly vaguely told that the car ‘will get what it needs’. I asked many times to clarify this and kept being given this same politician-style answer.

The car was actually given a oil/filter service when Richard Hardie took ownership of the car, so to me, it will need a full service next time.

After many ignored emails and phone calls though to speak to someone about this, I was told that the car would get a free oil/filter service because this is what I had been told I would get.

Now there’s been misleading and there’s downright lying. This is a lie and is absolutely shocking when purchasing something like a car.

Please do not use Richard Hardie. Go somewhere where the staff do not lie about what you will be getting.

The whole experience from start to Finish couldn't have gone any better, Jason withy the salesman went above and beyond made me feel at ease and kept me in touch with what was happening with my car and when he handed it over it was everything I could have asked for and can't thank Jason enough

Having purchased my second MG motor, I can only express my thanks for the first class service I have received from Richard Hardie Ashington. Special mention to Craig in the Service Department who has looked after my cars and Simon and Andrew in the Sales department who supplied my latest car and treat us in a very caring manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Richard Hardie Ashington.

I purchased a mini countryman which is supposed to have runflat tyres on,when I cleaned the car(which was supposed to have been valeted it was filthy),I noticed the two front tyres were cheap budget tyres you don't get a jack,wheel brace or tyre foam hence the run flats,so if I had a puncture I would be stranded,I went back to Richard hardie silverlink and asked if they would change the tyres as they weren't the right tyres for the car,I waited till the next day and was told the service manager would not change the tyres and if they did it would be with cheap budget tyres,so back to square one,this garage is appalling it's costing me 300 pounds to change the tyres they are leaving me with a car that is dangerous,the tyres are the cheapest of the cheap,I will never deal with them again,I failed to read the reviews do yourselves a favour read the reviews they are horrendous, avoid this garage at all costs,they are only interested in money customer service is appalling

When being told a car is spotless you think your doing a 500 mile round trip to pick up a good car this is sadly not the case here as i was told what my idea of a good car is is not what the sales manager thinks is. If you like dented vehicles being classed as spotless this is the place for you. i sadly feel duped i traveled as said 500 miles and did 12 hours driving including an overnight stay in a hotel to see an absolute weapon of a vehicle. which was not worth a kick up the bottom to put it nicely. Anyway as a lot of reviews tell you here avoid the place and the lies lost £200 in fuel and hotel fees to see a shed that was described as spotless, someone needs to stop lying or get to Specsavers

Less than impressed. Poor customer after care, disrespectful to women, car bought with fault been in the garage on and off for months. Spoilt school holidays. 3 children under four… thanks Richard Hardie for making life far harder than it needs to be! Shocking after sales care!

They were so kind and caring. They helped me get my fiat 500e ordered and they kept me updated about it.

Do not buy from them very bad customer service and lies to get you buy the car got the car jeep renegade next day the battery was gone called them they wouldn’t accept helping me starting the car or relibility , so bad service book was missing chased 4 months nothing at the end , so many things wrong with the car . They just only interested to get rid of cars no human touch.

Went in looking at an MG but not really having any knowledge or experience. Straight away sales person was like 'what do you want?'. We went and looked from the outside of a car out front and immediately the sales person was looking into cost. No discussion about the actual car or its features - it was straight into the cost. My partner was looking to purchase the car and I wasn't even acknowledged as I wasn't the one buying it. A week before we visited Mercedes and it couldn't of been a different experience. The whole visit I was included and made to feel valued and price was never mentioned - it was all about the car. We even had to push the Mercedes sales person to discuss prices. Horrible experience and would NEVER consider buying from Richard Hardie.

BEWARE these guys are scammers that sell well below par ex rental vehicles . I bought a car form these scammers which was 3 years old with low mileage and one owner. I paid nearly £50,000 .. I have it 3 months and the engine blew. It cost me £24000 for a new engine and they refused to help with anything. I am currently taking them to court . Do NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS

Avoid Richard Hardie Fiat garage like the plague over the last 2 years I’ve had nothing but bother and absolutely shocking customer service from the garage.
1. Car broke down at the tune tunnel after driving off the forecourt.
2. Salesman did not transfer my details to the DVLA resulting in a big old red sticker on my windscreen.
3. Promised a free service that they never honoured.
4. Come to the time when I need new tyres, no locking nut in the car!!!! Surprise surprise, after 2 years they’ll do nothing but I can buy one. Spoke to Kyla who has the telephone manner of Attila The Hun!
Avoid like the plague, cowboys, want top money for substandard product with no aftercare or customer service! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I bought a car last year in March from Richard hardie silverlink and the salesman never registered the car in my name with the DVLA! Contacted the dealership and said nothing they can do, I will have to pay £25 to process a V62 to get the car put in my name. Emailed a complaint off ages ago and not heard anything back. Would NEVER buy from here ever again. Awful service and not doing what they should have done!

Richard Hardie Sunderland sells lemons. They then avoid responsibility and treat you with contempt.

I say this based on real experience. It took two distressing years of arbitration and court action to get my money back on a Jeep that suffered catastrophic engine failure within weeks of purchase.

Be warned. As mentioned in other negative reviews, it appears that the general manager and specific salesmen at Richard Hardie have acted unscrupulously on several occasions. My case ended up going as far as UK Trading Standards and Jeep global head office. That should tell you enough about whether to do any business with these cowboys.

Bought my used car in August from Richard hardie silverlink, after weeks of waiting for logbook to arrive nothing came repeatedly rang them and just kept been told its the dvla to blame back log ect due to covid, after several months I finally ring dvla they have never received a application for a new owner for my car so now its costing me £25 for new logbook, also I never received the yellow bit of the logbook which I should of received the day I bought car. I received great customer service in the shop on the day of purchased the car but feel like I have just been fobbed off since then till now. Absolutely headache.
