Poor communication and customer service.
My car went into Protyre Southam for an MOT on Monday 6th October 2025, which it failed on two points, cracked rims, and lower ball joints.
With the MOT due to expire, and my car now not permitted to be driven until the repairs were completed, I requested a quote for the work to replace the ball joints by Protyre Southam.
I was promised this quotation later that day, but received no such quote. I telephoned the next day, and no-one really knew anything about the quote, but I was told someone would look into it and get back to me later that day. Again, nothing.
I spent two more days chasing a quote, and a date for the work to be done, as I had no car, however, after telephoning for 4 days, and waiting on hold for 10 minutes each time, only to be cut off, and again, and again, and again, I gave up and contacted another garage, who gave me an instant quote, and availability within a couple of days to have the work done.
On Saturday 11th I finally received a quote, but now too late, but finally arranged the retest for Wednesday 15th October. Just not good enough.
I accept the garage can be busy. I accept someone needs to get a quote for parts, but this shouldn't take 5 days. Clear communication is critical, and here the communication was appalling. I could not get through on the phone, despite calling multiple times a day, waiting on hold and being cut off. This is not good enough.
I had no car for 10 days, mainly due to lack of communication, but also lack of action. The quote should have been the next day at worst. I could have made a decision, or arranged another garage.
What is this poor communication doing to the business? If people cannot get through, or wait days for quotes, they will go elsewhere, just like I did.
You need enough staff to answer the phone, and to arrange quotes, just as much as you require mechanics to do the work. You have a team of staff upstairs, so resource allocation should be better. Without customers you have no business, so you should be looking at your customer service as a priority, not an inconvenience.
The people doing the MOT were great, but the customer service and communication were awful.
I won't waste my time with Protyre Southam again, I'll take my car to the garage that responded, even though it is much farther away. At least I know what I'm getting.

I got my car sorted but a bit pricey. The price went up by £5 between phoning up and getting to the garage on the same day. I wasn't very please with the mechanics attitude towards me. Considering.

Great experience, everyone there is lovely! I felt comfortable and they explained everything to me rather than my boyfriend. Even went the extra mile and had a look at my exhaust for me when I said there had been a strange noise. Will be going back again :)

Tyre was promised to be ready first thing. Phoned at 10 to chase and eventually ready at 2.30pm. Quoted fully fitted but just given back as wheel to be fitted back to car by us!
Will not use again!
