Absolutely disgusted at our new years eve booking being cancelled today with 4 weeks notice and ZERO EXPLANATION,when already paid in full given the fact we are regular visitors (having been twice already this year) thanks for ruining our new years plans!

Telephoned on behalf of my parents yesterday who are 80 and 90 years old. Since booking a short break at Sand Bay my Dad has been diagnosed with Cancer and my Mom has been diagnosed with heart failure. Both now have multiple hospital appointments and can not go away on the scheduled break now or will they ever be fit enough to go away again. The venue and head office confirmed the holiday would not be refunded and that they were informed on the call during booking. However there is no available evidence to support this as there is no record of the call. Both call handlers were abrupt and neither had any empathy. My parents have no paper work to confirm the contract of the booking and I was informed that, that information is not available. I am disappointed that Pontins believe it’s appropriate to withhold the funds from two elderly pensioners who now need that money back to help fund care without providing contract or policy.

After booking 8 months early to advise that I will be travelling with a newborn I was put in an upstairs apartment. The extra bedding that was paid for was missing. I asked to change room and was given a dirty room with no shower curtain the sofa bed had a metal piece sticking out which was covered with sticky tape. The door wouldn't open meaning a family of children and a newborn were locked inside. We had to bang on window to alert other guests to throw the key out to ler us out the room. Staff on checking in desk were rude and unhelpful we were left with no option but to sleep with the door open so we could leave in the morning
We paid for a 3 night stay and left after the first night. If we didn't arrive after a 9 hour drive we would of left straight away. Now pontins are refusing to give a refund

Sand Bay..thank you for such a wonderful holiday food n entertainmentbut the bluecoats,while professional acts are on stage r trying to upstage the acts with their very very childish dancing on the dancefloor or taking facebook placard around to the guests..they r acting like attention starved children..there is one male bluecoat that just wants to show off his dancing ability even in line dancing he is acting soo 'look how good i am'and takes over every situation..please please dont interrupt the artists or dont try too hard yourselves ..u r all brilliant but please allow other people their space

Fraudsters is all I can call pontins. They promised to replace all our food destroyed by their electrical problems and they didn’t. They gave one inedible meal with cheap frozen food that was disgusting for dinner being ruined in that evening. The manager said we would be compensated for our loss but now that we are home pontins have gone back on their word. They are the most disgusting pieces of scum that own pontins. They fraudulently advertise on their website activities which you never get. The place is a health and safety hazard. The dirt is everywhere. Do not book here. As for the staff and management, they are no better. Dirty humans who clearly have no morals or conscience.

With more care and attention to detail this place could be so much better.
Reading the reviews and with our own experience it seems the cleaning staff are poorly trained or completely unsupervised. The chalets are only small and should be spotless.
Complete contempt for the holiday makers.
All it needs is some experienced management in charge and spend some money on refurbishment.
We were disappointed.

Pakefield disgusting. Came home early as Ill from mould and damp. Absolutely stunk. Had to wash every item of clothing even the ones we didn't wear wear as disgusting smell. Never again. Dead spiders under the bed and even crawling over us in bed. Don't waste your money. Cheap holidays but still should be clean. Shame on pontins.

The place looks nothing compared to the pictures shown online, it’s not properly painted and incredibly unhygienic. When my family first drove around to find our room we noticed that the signs were covered in so much mould you couldn’t read it properly. By the time we arrived to our room the cleaners were still there and the only source of equipment they had was a bucket of water, an almost finished anti bacterial spray and a tiny sponge. With the thought that the cleaners were just there you’d expect the place to be clean, but it wasn’t. We found a hairball in the bathtub, bird poop smeared on our window, and a used glass just sitting on our window seil. As usual, we do a safety check for all the furniture before we use it and as i moved my bed to the side i found a man’s stained white vest. The couch was stained with so much dust it was unsanitary and outdated. It’s obvious this place is poorly taken care of, and it doesn’t meet to its expectations at all. They claim they have “refurbished” the entire area but all that’s been done is more instalments of colourful animals in unsafe play areas. Honestly, this place is a dump and covering it with big colourful animals isn’t going to cover that up.

One big biohazard to be honest. So disappointed and disgusted. Our room was incredibly unclean with hair and dirt on the surfaces. When we asked the staff for help with our horrendous room they couldn’t care less, and told us that it wasn’t their problem. All facilities are outrageously dirty and there is no one ever around to clean anything. Although the price of the rooms are low, people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and any amount paid should be worth it. This was not. Worst experience ever! Do NOT come here. Complete waste of money.

If I could give 0 then I would, arrived expecting the worse and was even worse then you could expect. Pontins is not safe place to take your kids I was looking for reception. Drunk fowl mouthed individuals sitting around the dirty park felt like a prison day trip! I got to reception waiting about 30 Mins for key got told that my payment hadn’t registered so they had to call someone, told me it was ok then gave be a key for a block that was miles away for the key to not even open the door then I looked through the window no sofa bed in there and two mini beds only one mattress there was two adults and one child staying. We drove all the way there to have no accommodation to have to drive all the way home ruined our family holiday don’t book your be disappointed.

Got in to my chalet ..bodily fluids on the duvets …dusty floor ..half a chest of drawer.wardrobes coming away from the walls .mattress uncomfortable …saucepans and other utensils with ground food on them …neighbours kids were ruining up and down the stairs until 1:30am ..which sound like ..a heard of buffaloes ..so had to leave tv on all night to drowned out the din ..cleaners need replacing …not good !549 pound will be going else where next year ..

We stayed at camber sands pontins, Where do I start. Horrendous. Security staff unpleasant and rude. Half the attractions for kids shut because they are broke. All the bins around the park full and over flowing which meant rubbish all over the place. Rotting food and s***y nappies on the balcony, which birds were getting. Whole apartment smelt of weed and cigarettes. And woke up after first night to find some low life had tried to break in to the top box of my car. Dont bother with this place wish we hadn't, currently 1.30am will be checking out first thing, a day early. Truely awful place, this isn't a holiday park, more like prison blocks. We have all got bites aswell from the so called beds.
** update we left @3am as couldn't cope with it any more and the fire alarm had been going off constantly foe two hours.

Absolutely horrendous. We got here around 6pm, blood all over the walls of a bedroom and smeared on the living room, blood all over 2 of our duvets. Went to the customer service desk and was told they could move us but the other room was in even worse condition! I topped the electricity meter up £10 baring in mind we got here at 6, came in used no electricity, topped up, made a cup of coffee and left by 7.30. for some reason it read £1 credit soon as I topped up! Went out and got back 10pm. Made a hot chocolate using the kettle and Got in bed and watched teli for an hour and the whole shalets electricity went off! £10 for 2 hrs electricity? I will be getting it refunded because it is very clear they stole my money and I wont allow it. I have proof of the meter stating credit of only £1 before we went out within 15 minutes of topping up as well. Absolute shambles. If we hadn't travelled so far to get here we wouldn't be staying! 3 more nights to go, couldn't be more devastated.

I stayed at camber sands pointins an with my 2 children an aunt after reading alot of quite bad reviews was a little nervous an not expecting much however when we arrived was pleasantly surprised whilst the park itself does look a bit in need of some tlc revamp the staff working there were all so welcoming an helpful check in was quite strait forward considering there was alot of ppl to check in we checked into our chalet an it's most defiantly is not 5 star it was clean enough the beds were confortable an we used it as a base so close to beach an really easy to get in to rye on bus witch was very beautifull little town I think fir the price i paid was a good budget break away my kids loved the entertainment an other family's staying were really nice my kids made lots of friends to play with an said they had great time there was quite alot to do on sight the only disappointment was go karts wernt open however I was told this dependent on the weather so couldn't be helped I think some of the reviews were a little unfair an like I said if you are looking for 5 star then this was not it but as a cheap place to stay in great location was good for us it is what you make it we had a fab time Thank you we will be back again

How on earth is pontins Ryle in Wales allowed to take hard earned money from people knowing what a s..t pit they are putting people in. I took my great granddaughter in may and it was like driving on to a run down council estate, the bird s..t all over the place, couldn't see out of windows for it, the smell as soon as you go in the room would knock Tyson Fury out and that's me paying for a upgrade. Honestly how health and safety have not condemned this place beggars believe. Please please do not give this company your hard end money 🙏. At the same time I booked this i also booked for Southport, couldn't go after seeing Ryle so let the granddaughter take her daughter thinking it couldn't be any worse. She didn't even stay one night came back same day showed me the pictures and videos she took and my god it was actually worse shame on this company that runs these hell hole's. Joe Glackin.

A weeks break we recently had through the Sun Holidays at Camber Sands, which can only be described as horrific!  Not only is this place wholly depressing, but the number of issues there is outrageous and a health hazard for children. We could not believe it hasn’t been shut down given the number of complaints we’ve seen here and other places.

The park itself is completely dilapidated and felt more like we were in a neglected prison block than a holiday park.  The cleanliness of the park was an utter disgrace, rubbish all over the site, bird poo around every corner, and we found ourself being constantly anxious over where our daughter was playing as the play areas were clearly requiring major maintenance or renewal.  One parent we spoke to today (Thursday 27th) heard a story of another child going to hospital from sepsis after staying there during the week, which we are not surprised given what we encountered and the reviews on here!  The soft play was also closed due to health and safety issues, which resulted in the kids having nothing to really do.  We noticed one child playing in a mud puddle that was clearly full of bird poo, rubbish and had an oily residue, albeit we questioned what the parents were doing, but still the kids shouldn’t have had access to things like this.  Our daughter even found glass and dirty old bones while outside our apartment, to which we had to quickly remove and wash her hands. Their was also a seagull wing outside another apartment, which wasn’t removed during our stay and had young children picking it up

The apartment hadn’t been cleaned on arrival so we had to complain to the service centre, who were massively understaffed and struggling to cope with all the complaints coming in. The bathroom was full of hair and the toilet still had pubes on the seat, and the floor had clearly never been mopped in years and both ourselves and other families joked at how we had to wipe our feet when leaving!! Our socks became covered in grease and dirt and we were petrified to let our daughter go anywhere near the floor.  The pans still had the last residents oil and the cutlery had to be cleaned with boiling water.

The double bed was a fold down leather sofa that looked like something from the 1960’s and was held together with masking tape and if that wasn’t enough to stop us sleeping, the smoke alarm was bleeping through the entire stay and even after asking for it to be fixed more than once was still not repaired when we left a day early from sheer exhaustion.  We also had an end apartment, which we soon discovered had a broken gutter when it rained through the night and kept us awake further when flooding down onto our window.

Part of the building had fell off through the night, which our 6 year old daughter discovered outside our window and we were glad our daughter wasn’t playing outside at the time. There was black mould around the apartments and doors and when we moved our daughter’s bed to put the cover on found it all down the corner among other things that looked to had never been cleaned, which resulted in moving what was also a nasty stained mattress to another part of the room.  

One of the Mums told us she’d been on all fours trying to wipe the floor with wipes as mops and buckets weren’t provided and she had the same worries as ourselves.

I’ve only just touched the surface tbh, but we personally feel The Sun should not be related to a complex like this until they sort out what is a nightmare resort.  The fact that every local we spoke to felt instantly sorry for us when we told them where we were staying, as it is a well known resort to avoid for this reason and is an ongoing joke to those living nearby.

We certainly will never be going to a Pontins ever again and this has left us feeling exhausted and dirty, not how you should feel after a break away.  

We don’t like to complain and generally just get on with things, but compared to the other holidays we’ve with The Sun, that have been really nice breaks, this was in a totally different level and we cannot believe the place is still open or allowed to operate.

Ignore all the negative reviews, if you want an affordable holiday that is lots of fun then pontins camber is great, came for the week during the summer holidays along with hundreads of other people here, everyone having fun and enjoying themselves, apartment was nice and clean and a nice size, all the negative comments are people expecting everything for nothing, if you want 5star luxury then you will have to pay, but if you like fun old school British holidays then this is the place to come.
