Pleasance & Harper began as a small business in 1879, trading from premises in Wine Street, Bristol. The company as it is now came in to being in 1919 when the original Mr Harper’s three sons came into the business and expanded the company opening shops throughout Wales, the Midlands and the West Country. Over the years the business was consolidated with the sale of a number of the shops. The recession of the 1990’s saw the business reduced to one store – Hereford – but the standing and reputation of this shop enabled the company to ride the recession and establish itself once more. In 1997 Mark, the fourth generation of Harpers brought new life to the business when he joined his father in the trade. After the death of first his Uncle Michael, then his father Anthony, Mark took over as chairman. He continues to uphold the principles set by his great grandfather at the beginning – the importance of family values. Following the opening of a second shop in 2010 Pleasance & Harper now offer an exciting and wide range of traditional and modern jewellery, timepieces and giftware, including brands such as Omega, Tag Heuer and Links of London. Alongside this they offer jewellery and watch repairs and an expert valuation service.

Easy ordering including quick finance. Bigger sign up discount than other jewellers and not a whole list of excluded brands either so was the best price anywhere for the Tag watch I wanted. Delivered next day special delivery. Overall excellent service.

Thank you for your review. I was most concerned when I read it as we pride ourselves on our customer service and always wish to over deliver. When we spoke on the phone so I could ascertain where we fell short you admitted that the reason for the 1 star is in fact not our service but rather that we didn't price match the watch you purchased from us with that of a Jeweller's who were holding a clearance sale as they had lost the brand agency.
We're sorry that we weren't able to meet your expectations of a price match days after you had placed and received your order. We advised that you could return your order for a refund if you wished, which you did. As per our terms and conditions we aim to process returns the same working day but please allow up to 7-10 days for this to be processed. I can confirm your refund was processed within that time period.

A real pleasure doing business

Service (delivery) was faultless but…
Service (delivery) was faultless. Next day as described. Many thanks.
The watch however (which was not cheap - Seiko SLA051) had come off its cushion, did not have all its protective wrapping. A lot of it was missing suggesting this had already been opened (possibly even returned) so that tarnished the experience a little.
The watch however seems to be behaving itself +4 secs a day which is fine and it’s a great looking piece.

Very pleased with watch exactly as described. Only dropped a star as I requested it to be sized and it wasn’t. Had to use local jeweller to size it. Other than that all good.

Garmin Marq Gen 2 Experience
I've been patiently awaiting a price reduction on the Garmin Marq Gen2 Adventurer. Pleasance & Harper came up trumps. The sale was conducted over the phone and concluded on their website for secure payment. All staff members I spoke to were friendly and polite. My watch was despatched same day. Extremely pleased with purchase and sales process.
