Most insane product i've ever used. I am never using a bank every again!

I would not recommend Plasma to anyone based on my experience. The app and support experience have been extremely disappointing.

I tried to complete verification using my own valid documents, but my account was left pending. When I contacted support to resolve the issue, they did not resolve it. Instead, my pending account was completely removed from their system, and when I tried to log in, it simply showed that the account was closed.

I contacted them and asked why my account had been closed, but I received no proper explanation. I even asked the agent to escalate the matter to someone senior so I could understand what issue they had with my account. Instead, the agent claimed to be the head and communicated with me in a very unprofessional manner. I was then told that I would never be allowed to verify with Plasma in the future.

When I asked for a proper explanation and pointed out that many much larger exchanges have provided me services without any such issue, I still did not receive a clear answer. Eventually, they even blocked my email, so I could no longer contact them.

In my opinion, if a platform has an issue with a customer's account, it should clearly explain the reason rather than simply closing the account without proper communication. This kind of experience is not what I would expect from a platform of this scale.

Because of this experience, I personally cannot recommend Plasma. You may find many paid or positive reviews online, but this is my genuine experience, and everyone can make their own decision based on it.

Title: Worst KYC process in fintech — blacklisted for a file upload mistake

Review:

Absolute disaster of a platform. Applied for the Plasma One card, accidentally uploaded the wrong proof of address file. Instead of letting me correct it — which takes 30 seconds on any normal platform — they permanently closed my entire account without warning.

I re-applied with a new account, submitted the correct documents this time: valid passport, genuine PayPal UK statement from an FCA-regulated institution, everything matching perfectly. Rejected again. Same robotic email: "this decision is final and we're unable to provide further details."

I emailed support demanding an explanation. Their AI bot promised to escalate to a human. Two different "human agents" (Eric and Kyle) replied within minutes with the exact same copy-paste template. Neither of them looked at my case for even one second. Complete bullshit.

So to summarize: one minor upload mistake = permanent blacklist, no appeal, no explanation, no second chance. Their KYC process punishes honest mistakes like criminal fraud. Their support team is just a copy-paste machine hiding behind "regulatory requirements."

Save yourself the time. There are better crypto cards out there that actually treat users like human beings.

So far, I really like Plasma. Everything has been working as it should, and the card experience has been smooth and reliable.

At this point, I basically divide crypto cards into two categories: cards that actually use crypto infrastructure and smart contracts, and cards that simply put a crypto label on top of a traditional centralized system. Plasma is clearly in the first category, which is what matters to me.

The biggest advantage is the smart-contract-based architecture and the fact that the system is built around self-custody. You are not simply handing your funds over to another company and hoping everything will be fine. For me, that makes a huge difference.

Would I trust a significant amount of money to the system? Yes, I would. And that is probably the strongest compliment I can give a crypto financial product.

I see people complaining about the fees, while others are excited about the cashback. Honestly, neither is particularly important to me. What matters to me is the minimalist interface, the simplicity of the system, and knowing what is actually behind it. Most importantly, I can see and understand the smart-contract infrastructure instead of having to blindly trust some centralized black box.

The only real downside for me so far is that there is no dedicated IBAN. Personally, I think IBANs may become much less relevant or even disappear as financial infrastructure moves toward instant, blockchain-based settlement, so I don't see this as a major long-term problem.

So far, I really like what Plasma is building. It feels like actual crypto infrastructure rather than another traditional financial product wearing a crypto costume.

Bait-and-switch on advertised Platinum benefits

I locked 100,000 XPL to access the Platinum tier based on clearly advertised benefits. What was actually delivered is a completely different product:

- $1,000/month cashback limit advertised → actually capped at 4% only on the first $1,000 of spending, then drops to 3%, 2%, and 1% — a completely different structure
- 10% Uber cashback advertised → actually 0%
- Airport Fast Track (100+ airports) advertised → not delivered
- Telegram Premium advertised as "Included" → confirmed by support to not be part of Platinum benefits at all
- Proton Unlimited advertised as "Included" → confirmed by support to not be part of Platinum benefits at all
- TradingView Plus advertised at 25% off → confirmed by support to not be part of Platinum benefits at all
- Awaken crypto reporting advertised at 25% off → confirmed by support to not be part of Platinum benefits at all
- Claude Pro / ChatGPT Plus advertised as "Included" → actually a capped $20/month rebate that doesn't even work (payment failures with both card-on-file and Apple Pay, documented in my support thread)
- Airport Lounge Access advertised as a premium benefit → you still have to pay a $49 entrance fee per visit
- Global eSIM advertised as "3GB with no roaming fees" → actually only 3GB valid for 15 days, once per year
- Physical Platinum metal card advertised as a tier benefit → no shipping date, no regional availability, no fee info

When I flagged all of this, Plasma unilaterally updated their Terms & Conditions (including changing the arbitration body to LCIA) and their support confirmed in writing that the advertised benefits simply "aren't part of the current published Platinum benefits."

Avoid locking any funds with this platform until their advertised benefits match what is actually delivered.

I just discovered Plasma One Card, and it has become one of my favorites. Very nice newcomer.

The Good:
- 3% cashback for the basic tier. (Capped at $250 per month which is very generous comparing to $30-$50 other crypto cards have.
- Stablecoins to USD conversion is 1:1, no hidden spread
- 0% Foreign exchange fee (~1.5% with other crypto cards) - you will still get 1% fx fee from Visa on top, that's applicable for any Visa card
- Practically no fees for card spend. 0% Load fee, 0% Transaction fee, etc
- Apple Pay Enabled
- Unlimited Daily Spend
- Free Virtual card, issued instantly
- Built on credit card rails, accepted virtually anywhere
- Fast and awesome support, AI + Human combo

The Bad:
- No Physical Card Yet
- Still in Private Beta, so you'll need to scout for an access key to get in
