Not secure. I used Patreon many years ago to support a podcast I listened to regularly. The podcast moved to another revenue platform, I haven't logged in since.. possibly 2020?

Today my account was charged 20 dollars as it was subscribed to some foreign accounts. Very worrying...

Ik help een huurster van Parteon omdat ze niet goed om kan gaan met de digitale wereld. Onlangs had ze een klacht. Haar ramen waren met mortel " ingebrand" tijdens het voegen van metselwerk boven het raam, na een ander klacht m.b.t. lekkage. Met nat weer moeilijk te zien maar met zon duidelijk zichtbaar. Er kwam eindelijk een man van een bedrijf langs, ingehuurd door Parteon, die maakte wat schoon en zei dat ie het probleem had opgelost. Maar het was niet opgelost. Met zonnig weer waren de vlekken weer te zien. Door Parteon werd niet gecontroleerd, dat zit niet in het "systeem" Parteon. Is goedkoper want spaart een opzichter uit. De
man diende zijn rekening in bij Parteon in en was tevreden. Een makkelijke klus zonder controle. De volgende keer komt de man langs en vult alleen nog zijn emmer, leegt die en zegt dat hij de klus geklaard heeft en dient weer zijn rekening in, er is immers toch geen controle. Is het verwonderlijk dat Parteon bijzonder laag scoort bij de Reviews? Als je zo werkt gaat het op allerlei vlakken mis. Als je denkt dat elke onderaannemer te vertrouwen is en je niet controleert ben je verkeerd bezig. Ik werkte 47 jaar bij een grote aannemer en heb gezien hoe het wel en niet moet.

I was a Patreon creator for around eight years. Then my account was terminated, and years of posts, project history, statistics, and accumulated data became inaccessible almost instantly.

My biggest issue isn’t even that Patreon decided to terminate the account. It’s **how they treated a long-term creator when doing it**.

They could have disabled the public page, stopped payments and publishing, and still provided temporary read-only access so I could download my own work and preserve years of statistics and history.

Instead: one click — eight years gone.

There is a huge difference between **“We will no longer provide our services to you”** and **“You no longer have access to eight years of your own history. Goodbye.”**

The first is a business decision. The second is a complete lack of respect for the human being behind the account.

After eight years on the platform, I wasn’t treated like a creator or even a customer. I felt like a disposable entry in a database: useful until I wasn’t, then deleted.

Whatever Patreon thinks about my content, there was no need to handle the termination this way.

If you decide to throw someone out of your house, you can at least let them collect their belongings before you lock the door.

Stay away from patreon. I’ve tried for 1 and 1/2 years to cancel my membership and they say they’ll take care of it and never do. They are the worst of the worst and be careful with any company that uses them.

Overall, I would describe the experience as average. The service itself was fine, but the communication and follow-up weren't quite where I expected them to be.

I forgot to cancel my Patreon membership before it renewed and cancelled it the very next day. I then submitted a refund request shortly afterwards.

The creator never approved or declined the request and simply left it pending. I contacted Patreon Support, but instead of prompting the creator to make a decision, Patreon refused to help and then said they had “exhausted all available options.”

That is incredibly frustrating when one obvious option had not even been tried, which was contacting the creator and asking them to respond to the pending refund request.

I understand that I missed the cancellation date, but the complete lack of help from both the creator and Patreon has been disappointing. I won’t be using the platform again.

Papacito, Le Guiz, Baptiste Marchais et même Jordan Peterson ont vu leurs comptes supprimé sans aucune raison, par simple bienpensance/politiquement correct/wokisme. Penser différemment est apparement contre la politique de Patreon, qui est pourtant une plateforme censée donner la parole. 1984 nous voilà, qu’on arrête de tacler la Chine, la Russie ou la Corée du Nord, car la censure y est supérieure et omniprésente en France (et au Royaume-Uni…) depuis plusieurs années. Honteux.

I would give patreon 0 stars if I could I bought a beamng.drive mod subscription and when I downloaded it the content was a meshslap with tons of issues. so I contacted the creator and support the creator ignored me but patreon after 12 days of useless responses just denied my refund request. this platform is a fraud hub full of terrible low quality garbage leveraging their terrible refund policy. I will never use patreon again and I suggest you do the same.

I joined a utube channel with patreon, but noticed that the creators were mis representing where the channel was and what they wanted money for, I contacted patreon to alert them, and went round in circles as they each said it was not their job to check it out. I don't know if they care whether people using their service are honest or not.

When there’s a problem, it takes Patreon weeks to respond; paying is always easy, but getting a refund is a different story. Plus, the subscription cancellation option is hidden. Bottom line: it’s dishonest.

Was provided with fraudulent pattern and was told they were unable to confirm my credit card would be taken out of their system to prevent further charges. They wanted me to log into an account I never signed up for and go through multiple steps to remove my card. NEVER BUY from them.

Patreon protects scammers and does not compensate buyers. They provide no meaningful assistance or support. The German consumer protection authority has been notified and is now involved.

Patreon is actively engaging in what can only be described as predatory "ghost billing" and credit card hijacking. They deactivated my account without notice or explanation, yet have continued to fraudulently charge my American Express card for 20 consecutive months. Because they locked me out of the platform, I have no way to access my own billing dashboard to stop the charges for a creator (InvestAnswers) I used to support.

When I contacted their support team to report this fraud, I provided an absolute mountain of accounting evidence: 20 months of exact transaction dates, amounts, and direct Amex transaction reference numbers. Instead of acting professionally and halting the billing, their support agent, Nathan, responded by teasing me and giving me an endless runaround. Despite my explicit confirmation that I do not own any Apple products and have never used Apple Pay, he continued to stall the refund by demanding irrelevant Device Account Numbers.

This demonstrates a complete lack of ethics and professionalism: a massive tech company can execute an automated charge every month on a closed profile, yet feigns incompetence when it comes time to locate its own ledger and issue a refund.

They are effectively holding my credit card hostage while ignoring undeniable proof of unauthorized billing. If you have ever used Patreon, check your credit card statements immediately. I am escalating this as a formal fraud chargeback with American Express.

Horrible Customer Support. I cannot solve a primitive request with access, it takes days to get even a reply. Can anybody finally take care of my ticket, please, and change the emails? I am paying for service I cannot access. No: 4196959

My card has been charged by patreon despite cancelling the subscription. I have reached out to their support but they only come back with unrelated copy/paste responses. They basically stole money from me and I will be submitting a chargeback with my bank.

Untrustworthy tools. Do not give them access to your money, or your fans.

Paid for a full month of access to a creator's content and cancelled shortly after to avoid auto-renewal. Instead of retaining access until the end of the billing period (as should normally happen), Patreon revoked access immediately — meaning I paid for a month but only had access for less than a day. When I contacted support, they refused a refund, citing policy, despite this clearly not matching how their own system is supposed to work. Extremely poor customer service and a frustrating, drawn-out process to get a straightforward issue resolved.

I joined Patreon as a new creator selling my own original digital products. After my very first sale — a completely legitimate, fulfilled order — my account was flagged for "suspicious activity."

I cooperated fully. I verified my identity, which matches my PayPal and legal ID exactly. I explained that I use a VPN due to poor local internet. I even reported a buyer who admitted in writing that he downloaded my product and then threatened a bad-faith chargeback.

Despite doing everything right and violating no policy, Patreon permanently closed my account. They refused to explain the reason, refused any appeal, and hid behind "sole discretion." Worst of all, they have not given me a clear answer about my own balance from a legitimate sale.

If you are a new creator, be warned: you can do everything correctly and still lose your account and your earnings overnight, with zero explanation and no way to appeal. I cannot recommend building your business on a platform that treats creators this way.
