Novadown, New Zealand’s leading manufacturer of European inspired duvets and pillows, was founded in the 1980’s in Auckland, New Zealand. From the beginning, Novadown made it its mission to offer down and feather bedding products of the highest quality. In 2001 Novadown was purchased by Ellis Fibre, one of New Zealand’s most innovative bedding companies and the founder of the famous Ellis Fibre Original Lavender pillow, and was relocated to Dunedin on New Zealand’s beautiful South Island. The company’s focus on luxury and comfort was emphasized even more when Novadown introduced the most luxurious of all downs – the Hungarian goose down - to the New Zealand market. Encouraged by the success of its Hungarian goose down pillows and duvets, Novadown went out to find other unique and exceptional materials that would offer their customers the ultimate sleeping experience. As a result, Novadown now also offers bedding products made from Alpaca, Bamboo, as well as Down Alternative for especially sensitive people. The care and pride Novadown puts into the creation of its products ensures you have a great sleep – night after night!

Love a quality pillow! 👌🏽

The pillow is of a very high quality. I chose the more firmer pillow, (80% goose feather). My last pillow was also feather but not as firm so I am still getting used to it. I am sleeping better though and will continue using it:)

Four Seasons 80/20 Hungarian Goose Down Duvet

As expected I had to wait for my Four Seasons Hungarian Goose down duvet to be manufactured & there was a further delay which was explained via email plus a discount token for a future purchase to compensate for this, which was a nice gesture. The finished product is superb and am looking foward to many years of use. Thankyou.

The goose down pillow is outstanding

The goose down pillow is outstanding. Easy to order and delivered when they said it would be. Good communication throughout. An expensive product but absolutely value for money.

okay but could be better

The purchase process and delivery was straightforward and easy. The cover material is very nice quality and I like that there was no live plucking of birds and that the duvet is made in New Zealand.

But the duvet is not very warm, doesn't seem to loft well and it doesn't seem to be value for money. Last weekend I went to Farmers and bought a Fairydown duvet inner, 80:20 goose down for around $330 (there was a 50% off sale). It is much warmer.

I think that you should send some information with the duvets. Reinforce the good things about your duvets. Tell us how to get the down to loft before use. Tell us how to care for the duvet.

Svar från Novadown

Hi Maree, thanks for your review. Sorry to hear that you weren't happy with the warmth of the loft of the duvet. We try to give us much information as possible on our website and have some pages aimed at providing information on these things which you can find at https://www.novadown.co.nz/pages/how-to-choose-the-right-pillow-and-duvet-for-you. We will take your suggestion on board and consider doing some sort of information card with the duvets going forward. In the meantime, you could try giving the duvet a good shake and see if that improves the loft. If it doesn't, then email us at help@novadown.co.nz and we will see what we can do for you. Kind regards, Lucas Mills, Novadown.
