Mighty Ape is no longer worth buying from.
I have been a customer of Mighty Ape from the beginning. I ordered two packages of Thermoskin ice wrap on 1st April. I expected to get it within a couple of days, I have heard nothing apart from the initial 'we're on to it'. I went into the account to find that (a) it was not in stock and is coming from Australia, not obvious on the website. (b) It's still sitting in Aus waiting to be shipped (c) No communication from mighty ape about this at all, just silence (This is my last purchase from Mighty Ape ever. Utterly disappointed.

The system continually keeps you informed with delivery progress via emails and product ETA.

They also, have the best mobile plan in NZ, don't tell anyone!!!
I purchased a one-year sim card plan on an annual basis which has saved me hundreds with unlimited Calls, Texts & Data (Choose your required data speed).
I then purchased another one-year sim card plan with a promotion - 2 sim cards for the price of one ULTRA-Fast plan literally saved thousands of dollars in comparison to other mobile providers.
Data availability being the real deciding factor here, I
was sick of being charged for going over my data limit every month.

Great communication from the team when i hadn’t noticed my item was on pre order, I waited patiently for 2 months (it was a great enough bargain and much cheaper than anywhere else) and i got what i purchased:) cant wait to give it a go thanks team!
Absolute worst experience
Absolute worst experience. They advertised a expected delivery day of 17/3/26 and its now 2/4/26 and I still havent recieved it. I have 'live chatted' with them 5 times to resolve this. Apparently the order got lost in the system - we are talking two full Queen sized matteress. Avoid at all costs. Would leave a negative review if I could
This supplier has a very unfair…
This supplier has a very unfair attitude to returns. Buying a product online requires the buyer to be able to trust the seller to accept returns of products that don't work as the buyer expected. This unscrupulous seller uses excuses like: you opened the box so you cant return it. Even though the item is new, used for only a few minutes (only to find out that it won't work with my laptop) and re-packed as it was when it arrived. Worst Online experience ever.

Used the company for 20 years was a great company but seems things have changed under kogan. Have a faulty item worth a fair bit and is out of warranty but most definitely covered under consumer guarantees act, from the get go they were trying to worm their way out of the cga before I had even sent the device (a gaming device that was 1400$ breaking after 2 years) they basically didnt like the report the got from the first techand sent it so where else and have said it's water damage and provided no evidence, I also called the first tech and they have told me there was no sign of water damage, I have since disassembled the device and inspected under microscope and no moisture issues, very disappointed now I have to go through the courts. Mighty ape will not budge

Mighty Ape does not care for ACCC and NZCP policies.
Purchased an item for a friend on their Mighty Ape account, which was all fine and well. A trial of their subscription service was added but promptly cancelled after the order was completed. However, I was charged the full 12 months long after that cancellation, which came with a variety of fees as it put my account into arrears.
According to ACCC and NZCP, these fees are the liability of Mighty Ape, however they are not acknowledging responsibility or attempting to resolve the issue. I will be escalating this appropriately.

Primate is no longer worth being a mighty ape customer
Have been a primate with Mighty Ape for years, only to find out they are charging for delivery at their sole discretion. There seems to be no criteria that determines whether they charge or not. Bought 2 cookbooks, similar price, both sold by mighty ape, they charged delivery for one and not for the other

Warning: Do NOT buy from them!! Worst customer service and products - especially Kogan products.
They falsely advertised the product which arrived late and was just awful quality, and did not match description. Their customer service is clearly just AI that makes excuses and gets defensive. When you escalate providing proof of product and the fact they lied, instead of apologising they send you back to the supplier. Lie that they will pick it up. Then send another email saying oops we made a mistake AGAIN, then make you print a label, and drop it off to the post office.
No sincere apology, no indication of when refund will be done or if they will cover the exorbitant shipping costs. When you escalate you get another bot reply.
They don't pick up the faulty product you get shipped to your door - what if I didn't have a car or was home bound? Are they going to cover my petrol costs??
I've wasted time and money, and experienced the worst customer service ever! Stay away from them, there are plenty of other companies that provide decent customer service not this absolute garbage. I'm absolutely appalled and I have never experience such bad service or product. Even Temu is better!
Horrific customer service
We bought a nurses bag off what we thought was the main website but turned out to be a drop shipping third party seller in the market place. The order sat in shipping for two months. We finally got an accurate tracking number and traced the parcel but as of writing it still has not arrived. The customer service has been shocking for both the courier company and mighty ape themselves. There is no contact number, the website wont allow verification of my email address to access my order and we are unable to escalate the issue on the website. The one time we did make contact with a customer service agent we were told because it was a third party seller it wasn't mighty ape's problem. I never leave reviews but this has been so appalling I have made an exception.
A total waste of money and time
I've ordered in the past and they were fine but recently they have gone completely downhill. The 2 products I have bought recently have misleading and false statements and wrong specs that don't match the products I received - the one product I received priced at $99 is worth $20 at most, and they have now listed 2 other listings of the same product at different prices. The ads look all the same. It's worse than Temu now.
And while they say they have a change your mind and a goods don't match description returns policy, their response time is very slow, then they get you to take numerous photos and measurements and try to argue the product is fine when it is absolutely not. I'm still waiting for a response on this.
Another product I ordered has shown to be not even shipped 2 weeks after ordering it, it's now past it's delivery due date and there isn't even a tracking number provided to track your order. A customer query I have sent is still pending, to see where my product is at.
Meanwhile, I am getting spammed daily about all their other specials and offers. I will NEVER be buying from them again. The most awful experience and a total waste of money and time.
Marketplace transparency is poor
Ordered from MA a few months ago. Started assembling the product, only then to see there was an incorrect coloured piece and I had to return it. The returns process was such a headache (was asked to personally drop it off to Silverdale), that I didn’t bother reordering that product again.
Thought to give them another shot and ordered a different item more recently, fully missing it was through a marketplace seller because they’re called “Mighty Ape group”. Utterly misleading to say the least. The shipping was delayed (I.e., sent on the day it was “expected” to arrive) and now it’s stuck at customs for over a week - the exact reason I avoid buying through marketplace sellers!
There is a total lack in transparency, and when I’ve contacted CS about this they’ve responded with a screenshot that ‘supposedly’ is from the time of me ordering that states the product is sent from an overseas supplier. I’ll take their word for it, even though I know for a fact I wouldn’t have purchased if that was listed.
Don’t bother. What once was reliable has now become infiltrated with marketplace sellers that are useless.
