I unfortunately did not check the online reviews and ordered £55 worth of goods in December for Christmas presents. The goods never arrived even though I received an email asking for a review. I tried to make contact by email (2 different email addresses) which bounced back and by phone, which was unconnected. I was able to get my money back through my bank but have today received a letter from the bank to notify me that Notes of Northumberland have tried to take my payment again - which they have blocked. The letter also informs me that the company may contest this. The absolute audacity of these company owners is unreal. How the website is allowed to remain open for business is beyond me. Do not order online, it is simply fraud.

Fraudulent Company!!! Was booked in for a christmas candle workshop - which didn't occur. Doesn't answer emails, messages or phone calls. Managed to find her in premises and requested refund, she processed and sent a screen shot - only for her now to challenge the payment with the bank to say it took place! So many companies listed under companies house, all with actions against them. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

DO NOT BOOK A WORKSHOP OR ORDER ANYTHING. This woman is a fraud and will take your money and then you will never hear from her again. Your emails will bounce, you cant get in touch over facebook and the phone doesnt ring. I reported these fradulent transactions to my bank and she has had the nerve to dispute them to claim i attended the workshops that didnt exist! How this is allowed to carry on is beyond me.

I too placed an order on 9th January 2025. Have not received my order, now February. Emails bounce and no ring tone when you use the telephone contact number. Absolutely shocking. Please, avoid!!!

The people owning this business will steal your money as they did us. We used to stock their products in our shop and we paid over a grand for candles that we never received. We had to go through court to get any money back. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Do not buy from this company. I ordered a candle at the start of Jan, the money was taken straight away but I have had no delivery or contact from them since. The phone number doesn't work and they have not reposnded to any of my emails. The icing on the cake was when they sent an automated email to me asking if I enjoyed my prodcut and could I leave a review!!
I love their products but they cannot run a company and their customer service is the worst I have ever come across. What a total waste. I want the money they have stolen from me back please.

This company is terrible. We live in Northumberland and try to buy local. We called in before Christmas, in fact several times across December to try and buy some Christmas wax melts, but we kept being told they were waiting for the ingredients to make them. The product we wanted to buy was still showing as available online, throughout this time. I mentioned this at out last (and final visit to this company) and was told to "just place the order and we'll send it out when we have the ingredients to make them". I didn't like the sound of this at all, why would a company be willing to take your money when it knows it doesn't have stock to manufacture the item or knows when that stock will arrive. We bought another fragrance (not the one we wanted ) it was slim pickings as there was hardly anything on the shelves. The staff member (young girl) was embarrassed as every scent I asked for they didn't have.
Beware: Do not place an order online as in our experience there isn't any stock. I'm unsure what is going on at the company but they certainly don't put their customers first.
They never answer emails or telephone messages, I tried many times to see if the ingredients were back in stock.

Same story as everyone else. Ordered goods early December 2024. Nothing was ever delivered. All listed emails bounced and no one ever responded to the website chat.

Company is in major collapse, but they continue to fraudulently take money for goods/services they know they won't ever be able to fulfill. Shameful!

This company will scam you out of your hard earned cash.
Owes hundreds of unfortunate customers - never sends items or opens her store.
All forms of communication are ignored and if you’re lucky enough to get a response it’s excuse after excuse from Emily!
AVOID at all costs.

DO NOT USE. IF YOU HAVE A MEMBERSHIP CANCEL IMMEDIATELY. THEY HAVE TAKEN PAYMENT FOR 2025/2026 AND THEY ARE PETMANENTLY CLOSED. CONTACTING BANK FOR REFUND. ITS FRAUD.

Ordered Christmas presents in December as I've used them before and had great experiences. Money taken but no goods arrived. Drove 30 minutes from home up the A1 to see why they're not answering emails and phone calls. The place is deserted and local business neighbours told me that at least 3 customers a day are turning up looking for answers to paid for goods and services, but owners haven't been seen since September 2024! Do not buy anything from them as you'll not receive it!

I've also reported the owners to the National Cyber Security Centre for continuing to allow customers to pay for goods when they are not fulfilling them on their website. Also, reported to Action Fraud for their business defrauding people.

DO NOT ORDER. Same as all the other reviews, which I should have read before ordering! My bad. Order placed, email confirmation, money taken, goods not received. Email today asking for feedback on the goods and service! What a cheek! When replying to say goods not delivered, it bounces back. A shame because a friend bought me a reed diffuser in the summer as a house warming present and it is really lovely.

Never open. Went online to check them out and Online reviews are shocking! Looks like it’s a regular occurrence where they disappear, don’t send orders then claim it’s down to post or illness. I’ll spend my money elsewhere

I have been trying to buy a gift from their shop since December, but every time I drive past their shop it is closed. I live in Alnwick and like their products, especially The Cheviot fragrance, my favourite. I decided not to order online after reading the poor reviews.

As with most reviews. Wish I'd checked before ordering from these this time. Previously bought a number of items, and they were great. This time not so much, no items (Xmas stocking fillers) and no contact. Emails bouncing back and phone number not working. I'll be making a claim through my credit card company. Such a shame from a previously good small company.

I paid for on online order on 1 December. The goods haven't arrived, emails bounced back. The phone number immediately disconnects. No way of getting hold of them. Dreadful and my goods still haven't arrived over a month later.

Same as the other reviews. Ordered on 3/12/24 and money taken out on 4/12/24.
I shall be taking a little trip up to Alnwick in the new year to get my refund!! Appalling!!

Appalling company - do not order from them! I placed order on 11th Dec, money left my account on 12th Dec and I have received nothing not even update/explanation. Emails bounce back, phone number doesn't work. AVOID like the plague

They have now changed it to Notes Cafe when you google Notes of Northumberland showing 5*
I have put another review on there and had quite a few responses, they are still taking orders online from their website Notes of Northumberland but unfortunately it seems they are taking payment but no goods are getting received! Appalling in my eyes taking money off innocent people and then not being able to get in touch to enquire where your order is.
If only someone would actually make contact but nothing.
I have luckily had a refund from my credit card but there are others out there not so lucky! Please don’t order on their website you won’t receive any goods snd the customer care is appalling,
Such a shame as the products are amazing but unfortunately I won’t be purchasing from them again. There little shop in Alnwick was a gem with a lovely owner about 4 years ago. Not sure what’s gone wrong but very sad!
