At $46.50 per lead Nolo sure provides a lot of leads that are not legitimate. To boot, they like to deny requests for lead credit every chance they get. Even if the phone number is invalid - good luck getting credit. For every 50 leads, you might speak to half of them and even then they will say they don't want to talk to an attorney or already have one or already spoke to one or they are just flat out insane. I had a guy with a case description that said he had an animal sized tracking device implanted in his foot by the government! Did Nolo care to provide lead credit? NO!! Keep in mind... these leads go out to other attorney's so if the case description sounds like the lead might result in a new client, you better call them first! Waste of time and money! Don't bather going to your "Account Manager" either because they won't return your call or emails.

I agree with the others who have complained about the quality of the leads. The leads are horrible, and nearly all of them are impossible to reach because they are not interested in being reached, and have no interest in hiring a bankruptcy lawyer. A large number of the "leads" have less than $5,000 in debt, so they are not people you would generally put in bankruptcy anyway, at least not on a paying basis. An equally large number put down income of less than $1,000 per month, so there is no way they are going to come up with a fee. This would be a great site if you were trying to fill your days with pro bono cases. But even that wouldn't work, because you can never reach anyone anyway. And they rarely agree to give you credit, no matter how bad your experience. If you are lucky enough to be reading these reviews before signing up, please take the advice of those who have taken the time to write, and look for better ways to spend your advertising budget.

If I can give them zero stars I would. They are a waste of money. I am kicking myself for not reading any reviews before paying them money. Their leads are garbage. They tout that they have a review process, but they deny so many stuff. Out of the roughly $750 invested at about $30 a lead, I got one case. Everything else is a waste, and it takes time to deal with their system. Advertise elsewhere.

Martindale-Nolo lead referral was a complete waste of money and I can't believe I fell for it. I paid over $1,000 and have not converted a single lead. In fact, 90 percent of the leads I got I could not even contact the lead. When I disputed the lead and requested a credit 90 percent of the time or so the request would be denied. One lead I texted told me that she had only requested information from the site because, "I was super angry last night. I'm not interested in pursuing anything at this time." This lead program has been a complete waste of money, and I'm actually thinking about suing Martindale-Nolo for this fraudulent program.

I used Nolo before for advertising for Bankruptcy, we lost money TWICE.
The way it works is NOLO shares leads with other attorneys so it is first come first serve, so many times before you even call a lead, another attorney has called and set up an appointment. The sales person we signed up with made all these promises that NOLO has changed, the representative that we worked with does not work there anymore, the salesperson said there are all these leads and they don't have enough attorneys to fill them, this is the line I was given. Why I fell prey to NOLO again, I am still baffled about it.
Why NOT to Hire Nolo
1. Most of the leads are poor quality, either they are spam, picking your brain, have no intentions on hiring an attorney, want to do it themselves, make appointments and never show up, or just have no money to afford an attorney.
2. You are one of a few attorneys who receives the lead
3. When you receive spam leads, you have to be quick about getting credits, it is another accounting task and takes more time away from you generating business.
4. Read your contract NO REFUNDS, they will hold you to the contract no matter how dissatisfied you are.
5. Waste of valuable time, time calling bad leads, time emailing bad leads, time setting up appointments for bad leads and time wasted for no shows.
I looked up all the leads we received with other attorneys to see if the leads did retain a Bankruptcy Attorney and filed Bankruptcy and most did not that clearly in my opinion is a good indicator that they are mostly bad leads.
With NOLO think about it, you spent countless hours chasing down leads, some are completely bogus, most are just calling to pick your brain, very few hire you, just think of how much time you have wasted when you could put your time generating leads that are NOT SHARED.
There will be no third time for me, shame on me for even considering them a second time.

Unreliable, untrustworthy, BS referral DO NOT USE

This lead program is a total fraud. When you call them the people don't even recall filling out anything. Some of them think the services are free. Divorce leads for people that are not getting divorced. Bankruptcy leads for people that don't want to file bankruptcy. It goes on and on. A complete fraud.

I wish I had read some of these reviews before I purchased these "leads". The overwhelming majority of the family law leads that I received were from people who did not have sufficient funds to engage counsel. There is an appeal process to challenge these leads "counting", but frankly that just leads to more bad leads. Most disappointing was that I was assured I could discontinue this whenever I wanted to do so. I figured out pretty quickly this was something I did not want to continue with but I was encouraged to hang in there. It was then that I realized that I had been charged for an automatic monthly renewal. I asked the company to discontinue my service (and keep their next month's leads beyond the few that I received before I realized what had happened), but they took my additional almost $500 instead knowing full well that I was unhappy with their services. Do not use this company.

Total scam - they send spam emails to people looking for loans and sell them to bankruptcy attorneys - huh? Terrible customer service-owned by KKR which says it all. Run away if you are thinking of purchasing leads from them. We spend $25k/month with them and have to fight tooth and nail over the SPAM we receive.

As a practicing attorney of 25 years this company, which is a division of Martindale-Hubble, a respected company, approached me regarding lead generation, promising valid auto accident leads at $66.50 each, which were shared between 3 attorneys at most, and a reasonable dispute policy. An initial starting deposit was made for $950.00. It took 2 weeks to obtain copy of the terms and conditions of the program. The first lead was disputed, as the prospect was not looking for an attorney, but only advise. This was disputed, as it resulted from NOLO's poor platform for consumer/potential client inquiries. The disputed lease was denied. The next lead was disputed for the reason the person again was not looking for an attorney, which dispute was again denied. The next disputed and denied refund on a lead came from someone other than the prospect, who was not looking for an attorney. At no time did NOLO provide any transparency for the denial, nor will they refund back fees paid for the program upon demand. It is clear that NOLO is a fraudulent service provider that no attorney in America should do business with.

You will be lucky to get 10% of these leads to convert. They are not trustworthy and their leads are generated to get a name and phone number which they sell to you with terrible screening on their end.

Pay per clicks are a joke BUT are completely a better way to get leads vs. Nolo. Please also don't get suckered into their money back if it is a bad lead, they cheat you there as well as some of the worst leads they say that they are valid and there goes your money. Plus, what do you get in exchange for a bad lead through them.... another terrible lead.

No matter how desperate you are, DO NOT fall prey to these jokers. Bad news all the way around. Not helpful. Poor lead source.

Save your money.

it's nothing but Spam, and is utter garbage

Nolo simply doesn't stand behind their software products. When a flaw, glitch arrises low-level customer support for Nolo.com, Willmaker Plus 2019 offers no help. The software has a major flaw and all customer support can offer is "unfortunately" and "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do"
This is not acceptable product support. It is sidestepping responsibility for a malfunctioning product that Nolo sells for a particular purpose. The issue is data, when entered using a Mac, is not auto saved, allowing you to resume work at a later time.

A reputable company with integrity would. have knowledgeable tech support available intimately familiar with the software. In circumstances when lower level tech support is not able to address the issue, a reputable company should have access to the programmer​ to address and solve the issue.

Although not a solution to lost data which is likely a programming issue, customer support should immediately offer a product replacement in the likelihood that the product data is corrupt on the media supplied.
They did not offer to replace the software

Total waste of time.

I have contacted NOLO for very serious problems and all I get are automated replies saying there are no Attorneys in my area but they will send me names of ones outside the area and I have heard nothing in months. It is a scam!!!!

I purchased a download version of a will maker from Nolo. I wish I could review that software. Unfortunately, they can't seem to keep their network working for more than 4 minutes. I have tried at least 3 different networks on my end, even though there was nothing wrong with any of them. I tried to download it on my Mac. I tried to download it on my PC. The file will not download. Their network sucks in a big way. Apparently, if you ask them a question as one reviewer has stated, they immediately start contacting you. Oh, if it were true when their site was having problems. I have used them before, I actually like the products/forms - product good - technical service horrible. They need to hire someone with a clue to keep their website running appropriately. They are a not a fly by night company. This kind of website service is unacceptable and the site should never go down and certainly not for the hour after hour that I have been waiting to grab a simple 40MB file. I contract with a very small, boutique-size company and even their rule is 'the site never goes down'. When problems arise, I contact our Administrator and in less than five minutes that site is working perfectly. Unacceptable.

I would give Zero Stars if possible. Right off the bat, the referral they sent me spoke with a street-level dialect, could just barely speak proper English and everything was a race issue. It was like talking to someone at one of those debt recovery agencies.

WASTE OF TIME, MONEY - NOT A SINGLE VIABLE CASE LEAD. As a solo practitioner in personal injury, I was interested in leads to compete with other lawyers who had large internet marketing budgets. This WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Most of the inquiries were without merit. The majority were out of my practice area that I paid for (I was told motor vehicle collisions) -- I got many slip and falls (most without any allegations of negligence), MANY medical negligence, civil rights actions and mostly nonsensical inquiries. I did not get a single car accident inquiry. MN sends the potential client (PC) an email with your name/number, so often, they call you on the weekends, late at night or before you even have a chance to review the 5 words of case facts they fill out on the internet inquiry (usually says "case facts: hurt back," not the actual facts). You have no time to qualify them or ensure you are in the office to call them back. Requests for lead credits are arbitrarily denied when they are clearly out of scope of practice, bad phone numbers and even the TEST inquiry from MN itself. You will just spend your time rejecting cases and sending non-engagement letters AND YOU WILL GET NOTHING OUT OF IT. I canceled after month one and told them to just keep my money, but 3 months later, I am still getting non-sensical calls and trying to reach non-meritorious inquiries because I can't risk appearing as an attorney who won't return calls. SAVE YOUR MONEY -- THIS IS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME I HAVE EVER HAD. YOU MAY AS WELL RUN A TV AD THAT SAYS "HEY, CALL ME IF YOU HAVE A LIFE COMPLAINT BECAUSE I HAVE 3 HOURS OF ATTORNEY TIME TO WASTE GIVING FREE ADVICE ABOUT HOW YOU CAN'T SUE FOR EVERYTHING"

Paid for a blank book, had to print all my own documents. Had to apply for my own EIN. Do not hire or give money to this company. They do not provide anything, they make you print your own documents and apply for your own EIN. They did not do what the description of what is listed. Called and would give me a $25 refund. Horrible company!!
