I had a drain blockage so Phoned at around 9:30 blockage had been cleared by 13:00
Their engineer came and within 10 minutes he’d cleared the blockage, then cleaned the drain and put a camera down to see if anything else was needed. Very professional I would definitely use M J Harris again

The first thing you can do is answer the phone when I call you with a problem following the engineer’s callout. The problem still exists but I can’t make contact with you.

Contacted to resolve a flushing issue with the toilet.93 year old told toilet installed wrongly, would need to be removed at £210 ph .to access the cistern. 2 hours work .Such made up rubbish to scaremonger a vulnerable individual in parting with monies.I am no plumber but - the cistern top is removable - can see all internal parts.
It would seem the components on the back of the flush buttons had come apart- £42 paid for 15 min job to reassemble the mechanism - which only works partly- so not resolved and parts are missing - 2 x springs that we know were in situ.
Told plumber too expensive to carry out works advised ( not necessary to fix the flush).On his return to the office must have conveyed our opinion- contacted by office suggesting they could discuss a reduction.
STAY WELL CLEAR - unethical working practices in excessive and unnecessary quotes ! Job not completely resolved.

July 2025 -Follow up - I purchased a spare flush button with parts attached on rear.Cost £9.99 via Amazon and I fitted.Works perfectly .

There was an immediate response and nothing was too much trouble. The plumber was excellent.

Plumber diagnosed the problem incorrectly and left after charging £600 with the issue not resolved. I was quoted the so called fixed price which then rose by a further £200 when he was having trouble with the work. Was glad to see the back of him before he could hike the price any more. Customer Service most unhelpful and I was rudely told that payment was overdue less than 24 hours after the botched work.

Our drains were unblocked promptly and efficiently by the M.J.Harris employee in Warminster. He was extremely helpful and shared useful advice.

The plumber came to have a look at the problem and advised that it was the thermostat that was faulty. Ordered replacement shower for us and fitted it next day. Very happy with the prompt service

I called M J Harris for an electric fault in my bathroom, The electrian arrived the next day and when I explained the problem he asked if I had a problem with rodents. From that moment he was sure that was the problem but was reluctant to investigate and even said I could diy a junction box to correct the break. At my insistence he went in the loft and did not find a break but continued to insist that was the problem. He said it would cost £2,000 to fix the problem including a new RCD which he failed. He was anxious to go to next call and charged me £165.

Called out a local electrian who fixed the problem within the hour, a failed transformer. RCD tested and passed every test. Cost is a fraction of the M J Harris quote. No break in cable, mouse droppings old not current.

From the first phone call to turning up with the new part can't fault it. But having a new unit fitted was a rushed job poor workmanship poor quality work. It took me 2 hrs after cleaning up stopping a leak jubilee clip left loose and re sealing toilet . I'm 77 yrs old still recovering from back operation

This is one of three reviews of organisations I contacted to sort a drainage problem. I am aiming it at those who (unlike me!) manage not to panic by ringing up the first number Google throws up and read the TrustPilot reviews first.
I had been struggling to sort a blocked toilets issue for a couple of days; by the Thursday I realised it was a much bigger issue than I could solve and the whole drain was blocked, not just the pipe(s) running from the toilets. It required a drainage specialist, in panic I turned to Google.
Having already been let down by one company, I returned to Google and my second call was around 11.45 to MJ Harris. Advertising themselves as a local family run business (meaning they could offer a “fast response”), I asked if they could get a plumber to me that afternoon. The salesperson said they could, and took a £42 deposit to secure a booking. They also said a drainage specialist would phone before arriving. A phonecall was received late on the Friday, however it was the office saying they could not promise a drainage specialist that day and it would be Monday before anyone could come.
What followed was a very, very stressful weekend as we were unable to use the toilets or take a shower or bath. My wife and I were even too frightened to use a washbasin to wash our hands for fear of worsening the problem.
Around 10.15 on Monday morning, neither MJ Harris nor Drain Division had called. By this time I had also read and analysed the reviews on TrustPilot about both organisations, paying more attention to the 1 and 2 star ones, and realised what poor companies they are. MJ Harris in particular I found has a reputation for taking peoples’ money and not delivering a service.
I phoned MJ Harris on both their 0800 and local number phone lines and was put on hold by different telephone operators. Given what I had learned from TrustPilot my suspicion remains that with phone number recognition technology this was a deliberate act to avoid my call.
About two hours later a MJ Harris customer service representative called to say no drainage specialist would be able to get to me that day. In that time I had contacted Dyno-Rod, they had called, solved the problem and left! I asked for my £42 to be returned, they said they would. Subsequently I discovered the money was taken out of my account the day after this phone call. At the time of writing, 9 days after the events above, the money has not been returned.

I paid a £42 call out fee for a plumber to come and look at an issue with a blocked pipe. He arrived and was very keen to diagnose £620 worth of work needed to be carried out in order to fix the issues. However he hadn’t correctly identified the issue and when challenged became very aggressive. He actually left my house worse than when he arrived.

Booked an appointment in the morning (a Friday), for the same day, this was so good, and was told 'we will be there by 5.30pm'. At 2.30pm had a call to cancel - as too busy! So Friday afternoon, a blocked drain for the weekend, and closed until Monday - sorry, not the service I was expecting. We made a point of using a 'local company' rather than one of the national ones as wanting to support local businesses. After the whole afternoon calling local and national companies, I found a sole trader who did an excellent job. So lucky to find him! What a shame, I so want to support local businesses and we were let down!

Quoted £210.00 per hour labour... I don't think so
