Great experience when buying a car
Just bought a new (to us) nissan leaf from the Winchester dealership. Martin helped us source a car with the spec we wanted at a good price. The service we received was excellent. The car was mot'd, serviced and and valeted (as well as fully charged) when we collected it.
Additionally we have been given a year's RAC cover and a year's warranty.
We would recommend this dealership and will certainly return to them when we need to replace our second car.

After being let down by Skoda Henry Salisbury for the 2nd time recently I contacted Martins of Andover as was being advised a 2 month wait for an appointment at Salisbury car was purchased from them them with a promise that we always look after our customers
Within 2 days an appointment was made and window opener replaced under warranty

The car was returned to me without any work done on it, and I was told to book another service with the Basingstoke Martin garage—which I know to be good but is also 40 minutes away from where I live.

Awful service
Awful service - spoke to a saleman today about buying a used VW from VW Farnham. From the outset, the salesman was rude, dismissive, arrogant and not interested in selling me a car. He did not even bother to seek to look at whether a deal could be had - very very rude ! Use this dealership at your peril !

Martins Camberley fixed the annoying faults
I took my VW approved Golf to Martins Camberley (owned for 3 months). The car had a million intermittant faults and the software had never been updated from new (not covered under the warranty) Suspension noises also not covered. They were kind enough to help me out on labour costs for investigations and fixes. The car is now running and sounding as it should have when i got it. Ben the technician also advised of a solution for door seal noises and was very knowledgable. Thanks Martins Camberley for making my car enjoyable again...

(Martin's Basingstoke) I wouldn't bother going through main dealer again
I thought going through a main dealer would be better than other options, in reality not so. To start with it felt like they didn't actually want to sell the car, it took 4 phone calls saying that we would like it (after searching for a while) and asking how to progress which felt like it fell on deaf ears. We also had a few concerns/questions about the car when we went to collect it. Volkswagen say buying a used car from them is like driving away in a new car and we felt it wasn't like that at all. The car wasn't fully valeted, there was rubbish and hairbands from the previous owner in a compartment. The rear tyres were perished and was an advisory on the previous MOT. A local garage to us said they wouldn't have passed it because it would be on his conscience if anything should happen to his customers. Brake pads were worn at 70% (said they wouldn't replace until 80% worn) so within the first two months after buying a "new car" I am paying for two new tyres and brake pads?! There was also a part on one of the doors we questioned as it looked like it was de-laminating. That was ignored too and now we have what looks like either a rust patch or primer (assuming from a previous repair) I don't know, showing through - another thing I will need to sort myself and extra money on what was not a cheap car to purchase. I also asked for the full spec of the car to be sent to me (as it was removed from the website) and never got that either. So overall not really impressed with the service and certainly won't be going back for our next car. I have been waiting for the survey to come from Volkswagen for my review but it's never come.

Not trustworthy
My car was recovered into the Andover Repair Shop. I appreciate that this was an unexpected recovery into the workshop, but they could have done far better in customer service and repair!
The mechanic who recovered me was ignored and the agent on the desk only wanted to know what happened before the breakdown. If they had listened to the mechanic they would have been able to order the parts more timely. They told me what the issue was after they checked the car and what they needed to order, despite me and the mechanic telling them, exactly what the problem was. I was told they do not take the mechanics view as it could be wrong! Turns out they damaged the car during the initial repair. They again refused to acknowledge the comment from the mechanic who initially looked at it and told me I was being a difficult customer as the mechanics who recover the cars usually get it wrong. Three days later got a text to say the car was ready. No comment on what had been repaired or agreement to proceed with the repair - turns out they fixed the damage "as it can't be proven what actually broke" - despite the scratches on the engine bay and the mechanic was actually right with the diagnosis of the fault. I have now had to sort out other issues in the car since it was returned. I now need to have the car serviced again and debated taking it back to them. These issues and the fact that the aircon has not been right since it was returned have led me to decide they are not a trustworthy organisation that can safely repair my vehicle.

Nissan Andover - Terrible to deal with
Terrible to deal with, unresponsive, rude (dismissive) and they ignore phone messages and emails. My mother has had an issue with her 2 years old car - clearly not the fault of Martins but they’ve had her car for over 2 months now, fail to provide any updates and it’s not just us they ignore, they are not returning calls to Nissan UK customer services either. It’ll be the last Nissan anyone in our family buys if they let dealers behave like this.

Martins Winchester highly recommended, Bryan was brilliant at helping us choose our car, no pressure ,just a genuine guy. Made it really easy test driving, fitting our child seat. Everything was about us getting it right for our family. Can't wait to collect our new car next week.

He made sure that our car was ready to collect on time which is important to us as we live on the Isle of Wight which involves booking a very expensive ferry crossing.

Avoid VW Basingstoke at all Costs!!!!!!!!!
I would strongly recommend this service department is not used. They will try anything to get out of paying for anything under warranty and make you pay for the tests to prove its a warranty issue. My van has been backward and forward to this garage on a number of occasions with coolant issues and all I ever get is no fault found, Now i'm being told that the van needs a complete new fuel system at £10k and the hire van im in is no longer being paid for. It this what you expect from a main dealer to a customer that uses them all the time for many years.

Fantastic 5 star service from Martins VW Farnham
We just tried to change the tyres on my partners Polo only to discover that the locking wheel nut key was missing. Martins in Farnham not only had a master set and we're able to remove them all, but also had a replacement set on the shelf and were happy to replace them with new ones. This was without any prior arrangement, we just turned up on spec and everyone couldn't have been more helpful. A massive "Thank you!" from us 👏👏👏
