DISGUSTING VETS EVER!

1 vet told us my 83 year old parents dog had cancer tumour, as he 15 probably would not pull thru surgery but our choice, he said he in pain after squeezing his anal sacs, suggested we take dog home an chat to whether live out his days albeit in pain or have him put to sleep, my mom obviously distraught. They decided quickly to not leave their dog in any more pain. After sorting on phone to reception we went back to be told the vet Peter Popescu was not happy to put dog to sleep!!! (Never told us this over phone or at our visit), so now we have a dying dog in pain an my mother in pieces!, I ask so what do we do now? Was told another vet will see us, Peter Jun Lai Tse, omg!!! He never had a clue why we were there (obviously no communication with previous vet/reception). The DRILLING I got was unreal! I explained what previous vet told us, he said he wanted to give us a 2nd opinion! My mom is sobbing in the corner! My parents had the horrid conversation of putting their beloved dog out of pain, he then asked do we want to re-home our dog! WTH sort of question is that after being told he’s dying! He made us feel like we just getting rid of the dog. I’m furious by now, he then spoke to me like a child where I had to stop him in his tracks! he then said he not happy putting our dog to sleep! Jesus! The stress, humiliation, no empathy, I felt I was on a conveyor belt! He EVENTUALLY agreed to put our dog to sleep, THEN came all the questions that the reception had already sorted with my parents over the phone before we returned to vet! More stress upon us! ABSOLUTELY UTTER DISGUSTING SERVICE!!!! Total cost £442.23! Was not asked if we wanted any foot print, clip of fur, NOTHING! (An I didn’t realise this at the time as stress and tears and anger was at its highest point) They obviously just wanted us gone!… the amount of local people I know who said EXACTLY SAME DISGUSTING VET an they had changed vets after just one visit!… all our lives we’ve had dogs an NEVER EVER have I gone through such disgusting behaviour!.. this is also being forwarded to complaints to vets management (not that they care or will do anything so lots have told me!)

Not happy

Just got an email saying out of hours emergency service is moving to Solihull. Just what you need. If I need to take my cat out of hours you can bet it's an emergency and I don't need to travel nearly an hour away. I also don't have a car so rely on taxis so that's just great.

We took our dog to Manor Vets in…

We took our dog to Manor Vets in Cradley Heath and he came out worse than when he went in. We only took him in to have his dew claw cut and the vet cut into his paw so we took him back and the vet prescribed pain killers then they had the audacity to ask for payments for it. We complained and asked to see the manager but we're not given the opportunity. They then told us as a gesture of goodwill we wouldn't have to pay the bill a disgraceful remark. My dog now hobbles round on 3 legs .and we can't take him out for walks.

‘Spayed’ my male kitten

Booked my male kitten in to be neutered. As a new owner, I didn’t realise I had to be specific, I thought it was obvious he was a boy, especially as we’d already been to the vets twice before this appointment. While I was at work, I received a phone call saying they couldn’t find my kitten’s ovaries.

They didn’t charge me for the (incorrect) spay. Through this entire process, though,
the manager never contacted me, no written reply to my email that I’d sent on the same day, just a phone call almost a week later from the vet explaining that as a gesture of goodwill, they’d do his castration for free (I asked this on the day they ‘spayed’ him). By this point, though, I’d already decided to move to a new vets. The only response to my email was that it was forwarded to the complaints department.

He’s been in a onesie since the 3rd, I’ve only just taken it off, even though there is still a scab there that I hope he leaves alone, and he’s now booked to be castrated at a different vets on Monday. The new vets were shocked by what had happened, and also pointed out an issue with his teeth that Manor Vets had never mentioned. I feel a lot safer with them already.

Took my cats in to be neutered using a…

Took my cats in to be neutered using a voucher from Cats Protection League.Wanted to get one done,then the other one the month after. Was told the voucher would cover both cats,for neutering and micro chipping. Rang to confirm on Friday, as the appointment was for this Wednesday, only to be told I need another voucher to get my 2nd cat done. Thanks for letting me know, not! No I have to cancel appointment and book my cat in elsewhere at a later date. So beware, they have had a £225 voucher, done £100 worth of work,pocketed the rest and tried to screw me for another voucher. Terrible service and lying through their teeth about the voucher being good for both cats. If I could afford it,I'd sue the bastards for malpractice.

I travel from Wales to visit Jack at…

I travel from Wales to visit Jack at Manor Vets, Edgbaston branch. Not only is Jack the absolute best exotic vet and thoroughly worth travelling for but the girls on reception enable what could be a very stressful experience, much more manageable. Not forgetting the veterinary nurses, so kind and caring. Thank you to the whole team 🐇

Finally a vet I truly trust.

I can’t recommend Ben Duquemin at Manor Vets highly enough. He’s been absolutely amazing with my elderly, unwell cat — gentle, calm, incredibly knowledgeable, and always focused on what’s best for her, not just the most expensive option.

What really stands out is his honesty and genuine care. He takes the time to explain everything clearly, answers all my (many!) questions with patience, and never rushes us. It’s such a relief to have a vet who supports both the pet and the owner, especially in stressful moments.

Thanks to Ben, I finally feel like my cat is in safe, compassionate hands. Truly grateful.

Our appointment was at 915am today. We were running late and by the time we parked up and got into the vets it was 921am. We waited another approx. 7 minutes to be seen by the reception - perhaps more efficient staff could be put on reception. Because we were 6 minutes late, the blonde woman with glasses at the reception said she would try to slot us in after the customers, who were already in the waiting room, were seen and would update us... but this was a lie as she hadnt bothered to communicate any update until we went up to the reception to ask her. We waited 45 minutes ,in which we had to continuously ask for updates, only to be told they were going to see their other patients instead. Going to the vets is stressful enough but to wait 45 minutes , to no gain, was a very long time for an already distressed cat. We will not be returning due to the lack of communication.
This wouldn't have resulted in such a disappointing visit had we not been told from the start we needed to rearrange our appt for being 6 minutes late instead of being given false hope and wasted 45 minutes! AVOID!

Excellent Veterinary establishment.

Excellent Veterinary establishment.
I took my dog ( Eden-Sky) to see the vet today and they were running very late ( 1st time that this had happened to me while visiting ) and the staff kept me well informed as to the progress of the appointment.
My dog tends to bark a lot and I get concerned that she will disturb people but they were very reassuring that she was fine.
They knew her by name and made a fuss of her which was lovely.
The vet i saw was very kind and patient and answered all of my questions ( of which there were many ) and really took care of my dog.
I apologised for missing my previous appointment and again they were very understanding.
The staff are amazing and very very helpful.
I shall use their services for my pup for as long as I am able to.
I was also worried about how much it would all cost and they assured me that the particular treatment Eden-Sky had was free of charge due to my pet care plan.
Tip top service.
Great pet and customer focused staff.
Very kind and caring people.

Avoid

Avoid - the place isn’t the same place it was a few years ago. They don’t see pets walking through the door, they see them as objects to make money off! They really just don’t care, it’s “how much money can we make here”. Context: I have a dog with terminal cancer, he’s managed to live 13 months since his diagnosis, Mark gave me a repeat prescription for Metacam to keep my dog comfortable, this was REPEAT prescription as my dog gets very nervous at the vets (he’s a rescue and is fine in all other settings but at the vets he’s terrified) It was agreed with the vet that they WOULD NOT need to see him again because of nerves and they know the diagnosis. I bought a large bottle of Metacam which has lasted 12 months (longer than we thought Dexter would live) . I’ve just called them back and now they’ve got back on this and SHOCK! They want to see him again so that they can charge another consultation fee. They don’t see pets/family, they see cash walking through the door now. I’ve been with Manor Vets over 15 years . I’ve deleted my previous 5 star review from 10 years ago

This company is Manor Vets

This company is Manor Vets, sometimes referred to as Colebrook veterinary Shirley. A family member found a kitten on the roof of her conservatory last night (30/7/24), clearly it was distressed so she took it in for the night and brought it to me, in the morning, as she had to go to work. It had a paper collar on it with the vets name and phone number, I took it there. I was told it was brought in the previous day. when they checked it and put the collar on it. The advice they gave on the first occasion, and gave to me, was to take it back to where it was found! Clearly that hadn't been successful. they said they had the phone number of the person who brought it in the previous day, I said surely it would be best to call her to find out where exactly it was found, they wouldn't and said there's nothing else they can do, and stray cats are a problem. (clearly they will continue to be a problem unless some policy exists to manage it better). I expressed that it would be reckless to take it somewhere that may not be the original place it came from, I was told, by the staff member "there nothing else she could do, ....and anyway I wasn't in yesterday!" clearly they didn't want to take ownership for the animal or help any further. I have used this vets in the past and moved to another vet through being disappointed with the service, clearly being disappointed again I left with the kitten, which is now living with me.

First time at Manor Vets Edgebaston.

This is the first of the manor vets practise I've used.
Went to the one in edgebastion, as its the nearest vet to me that treats avian pets.
Walking into reception, it's clean and well organised with plenty of seating, and different areas for different types of pets.
The receptionists were friendly and helpful, everything you'd hope for from a receptionist.
Being called through by the vet, he explained he had some students with him, I said that was fine. Whilst treating my cockatiel he was informative, gentle with his handling of my bird, and patient, answering every question i had.
I received advice on how to give treatment, and general bird care.
Going back to the reception to pay the bill. Well you know it's never going to be cheap, and yes it's always going to leave your wallet crying. But as far as I'm concerned, you pay for what you get. And I was paying for a good service, with friendly animal caring staff.
After my experience I would recommend to anyone to use the particular practice.

Manor Halesowen- 0⭐️s for communication, transparency, and ethical standards.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by Manor Veterinary Clinic, where I have been a client for approximately four years.Despite my long-standing patronage, I have observed a consistent decline in the quality of services offered by the clinic, albeit within tolerable limits. However, my recent experience has compelled me to address some concerning issues.Approximately three weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment for one of my cats due to ear issues. The consultation proceeded as usual, with little noteworthy to mention. Following the examination, the veterinarian recommended a course of medication to be administered to my cat after three weeks.Upon returning for the medication on the specified date, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly demeanor of Dr. Alex, whom I highly recommend. However, my satisfaction quickly waned upon being presented with a bill totaling £119 for services I had not knowingly requested or booked.When I queried the exorbitant charge, citing my understanding that I was only required to pay for the medication collection, I was met with vague explanations and resistance to refund the undesired services. Despite my insistence and reference to the recent consultation, the clinic staff remained steadfast in their refusal to accommodate my request for a refund or return of the unused medication.Subsequent communication with the clinic manager, whom I believe identified herself as Dory, only served to exacerbate my frustration. Rather than addressing my concerns with empathy and understanding, I was met with a defensive attitude that seemed intent on shifting blame onto me.The manager asserted that my appointment had included a re-examination of my cat, a service I had neither requested nor consented to. Moreover, the discrepancy in pricing for the prescribed medication, compared to the clinic's charges, only further underscored the lack of transparency and fairness in their pricing policies.To illustrate, one of the prescribed medications, which typically costs between £15-£17 for three pipettes, was inexplicably priced at £15 per pipette by Manor Veterinary Clinic. Additionally, another medication, normally priced at £9.98, was arbitrarily marked up to £51. Furthermore, the cost of prescriptions, which should have been provided at a nominal fee, was unreasonably inflated to £28 per drug, totaling £56 for both medications. Such egregious pricing practices are indefensible and only serve to exploit the trust of loyal clients.Despite my insistence on a full refund, the manager offered only partial concessions, insisting on charging exorbitant fees for prescriptions that should have been provided at a fraction of the cost.Upon returning to the clinic for the refund process, I was further disappointed by the lack of professionalism and compliance with regulatory guidelines. Not only was I denied access to my cat's clinical records upon request, but I also received no acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience and dissatisfaction caused by the clinic's actions.In conclusion, I must express my profound disappointment with Manor Veterinary Clinic's communication, transparency, and ethical standards. The disregard for client concerns, coupled with opaque pricing practices and non-compliance with regulatory guidelines, reflect poorly on the clinic's professionalism and integrity.

I never right reviews I was unsure as to weather to write this or not but I think people need to be warned of there poor practice bar one angel worker. My frenchbulldog unfortunately was suffering with back problems (IVDD) we took him here as my usual vet was closed. He saw a vet who basically completely wrote him off, told us it would be 10k upfront for operation as neurologist around my area takes payment upfront instead of going through insurance then said his not likely to ever walk again unaided anyway even with operation basically saying to put him to sleep an he would keep my dog over in whilst we decide what to do and sort finances. Based on the vets reaction an advide we decided to pick our dog up an being him home to be put to sleep. The thought of this still makes me cry today. Anyway we went to pick our boy up and an assiant asked to have a word with us he basically asked us why we are putting our dog down we explained the situation an what the vet had said this man in my eyes was an angel 😇 he wasent even the vet but said absolutely not he found us a neurologist in Bristol that would go direct through insurance we travelled 2 hours away the next day 6 hours after his surgery they called to say he was up and walking around his kennel considering the vet told us he probably would never walk again unaided. There was no compassion from this vet either I was stood there in absolutely bits and distress thinking I was going to loose my best friend an he just looked at me if I were crazy. If wasent for the assistant my pooch wouldn't be here today. Vets do better please

Disappointing.

Disappointing.
I took my greyhound to Northfield Manor vets, because he was coughing up blood, had lost 3kg in weight in a week, from 34kg to 31kg, jad become quoet and slow.
The Vet hardly touched my dog, he didn't try to look in his mouth, even though he had me trying to open my dogs mouth. I couldn't open it as my dog was in pain.
His diagnosis... my dog had drank engine oil? I, of course was shocked, because how on earth would my dog get hold of and drink engine oil without me knowing, I work at home l, so my dog is woth me 24/7, i give him all his food and water.
when I mentioned this to the vet he got defensive, and ranted how he said my dog drank engine oil.
He prescribed 7 day course of antibiotics. I left there, knowing I would never go back.
I took my dog for a second opinion to another vet (not manor) and within minutes my poor dog was diagnosed with mouth and throat cancer, he suffered in pain and discomfort longer than he needed to because of the wrong diagnosis. He passed away 4 May 2023. The new vet didn't understand how my poor dog was misdiagnosed, as the cancer looks nothing like an engone oil injury, and as the new bet said, if it was engine oil there would have been a poaitove difference with my dog.
When I got my dogs medical report from Manor, the Manor Vet had also put that my dog had eaten a whole hot, spicy cooked chicken. He is the only person who can answer where that come from. My personal opinion, he was either an unsupervised trainee, or he don't care anymore.
I complained to Manor, but as they are not following through, my complaint is going to the Royal vetinary college, a long with my email of complaint I sent to Manor.
Please be very cautious if taking your pet here.
My family were totally devasted losing our beautiful boy.

Poor customer service

We took my cat to do the first health check up in manor vet, Harbour branch, Birmingham. By traffic reason, we were 10 mins late. Our appointment was 10:15 am, but we arrived at 10:25 am. The receptionist said we missed our appointment and had to ask the vet to see if she still wanted to see my cat. We waited another 15 mins, then receptionist said the vet was okay to see my cat. Afterward, we were waiting for another 5 animals appointments. The vet came out and ignored out existence with no eye contacts but kept calling others who just came to the place. Totally, we waited for one hour and 15 mins until all others were clear, then it was us. It only took her 5 mins to look at our cat, but she couldn't put us in between others. It's worser than NHS service.
