Loft Doctor (Insulation) Ltd Omdömen

I'd like to think I'm a good judge of character, and today proved once again why it's important to trust your instincts.

A surveyor came out to assess our loft and we had a detailed discussion about what was required. Before leaving, they provided a price and we exchanged a few messages afterwards about some of the materials used.

During that discussion, I specifically asked about the payment terms and was told it would be a deposit followed by the final payment on completion. However, when the formal quote arrived by email and I queried the payment terms again, I was told they required a 70% deposit upfront to "secure the stock" because supplies were apparently running low.

Wow. I'm not sure what reputable company expects customers to hand over 70% of the total cost before any work has started, or who would be comfortable agreeing to that. What made it worse was being reassured that "all loft companies" operate this way, which is simply not true.

For someone who claims to have been in the industry for 16 years, I would have expected a more honest and transparent approach. Thankfully, my instincts told me something wasn't right.

Just a word of caution to anyone considering similar work from this company: always ask questions, get everything in writing, and be wary of unusually high upfront deposits. Trust your gut instinct, it might save you a lot of money and stress.

Took deposit! Sales invoice and contract stated building control! No building control offered by loft doctor after they took deposit! Inferred the deposit would be kept for costs incurred by them! No structural engineer sign off provided despite 3 RSJ’s put in! Trading standards advised to close the contract as the director became extremely difficult to deal with and I didn’t want them back! They have the Trustmark logo displayed on their website aswell???? My solicitor said there is no chance of redress as he has no assets! After checking companies house!

Extremely disappointed. Work started in November 2025 and is still not finished due to fundamental calculation errors. The lack of accuracy has caused endless delays and rework. Avoid if you want a project completed on time and correctly.

Quality service great lads working for you down to earth lads very happy with the job 👍

From beginning to end fantastic service. Ross who came out was friendly and professional. Only a small loft so didn't take long to do. Love the ladder and loft hatch.
Only problem was the light, given only one, it would of been nice to receive a few more within the price!

I was very impressed with the reliability and workmanship of this company. Communication was professional and informative. Ross the fitter turned up on time, was very respectul to my property and did a top quality job.
My one gripe with the whole experience was being told by the surveyor that I wouldn't need to redecorate or touch up the paintwork once my new loft hatch had been fitted. This turned out to be incorrect as the new hatch was several inches narrower, therefore leaving a small area needing to be plastered and then painted. If I had been informed of this initially I would have given a 5 star rating.

Ross & Wilson have done a fantastic job, thank you both so very much,
they have turned a disgruntled customer into a very happy customer.
Even with the issues I have had, the Loft Doctor, Ross & Wilson have been able to resolve them.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Loft Doctor.

Great job, quick clean and professional

WoW well what can I say
You were so friendly from the reception staff very quick to start. And price wise really good your electrician was very friendly and efficient and Scott, the young man who actually did the loft was so friendly so OCD keeping any mess he cleaned up. He was so caring as to what we wanted constantly checking Thank you All so very much for a Brilliant job were so pleased

A great job done quickly and efficiently by Anthony and Wilson. No mess and no fuss.

Had a Survey but a week later still waiting for a quote!

Scot and Nick were true gents during the whole process of building the room in the loft they went through what they will be doing today and complete the work they ensured that the area was kept clean and tidy.
Once the work had finished they asked me to check to make that I am happy with their work I could not fault they have done. Would highly recommend the loft dr Scot and Nick 10/10.

Stuart and Connor are the backbone of this business, there was admittedly a few small issues with measurements and such when it came to installation of my loft but the lads still worked extremely hard to complete the loft in the expected timeframe and left my house completely spotless like they had never been there! Get these lads a raise and an expenses paid holiday!

Had this company round for a difficult clean up (after complete roof renewal the week before), and full loft boarding. Initial problems caused by the surveyor not conveying correctly to the office parts of the job agreed, were quickly sorted out by Anthony (Installer), and Maria & Caroline in the office. The guy's, Anthony, Scott & Wilson, all worked their doo-dars off, turned up on time, we're polite (nice bit's of banter), and completed the Job to a excellent level of proffesionalism. I would have no problem highly recommending this company for any type of loft work. Many thanks again to Caroline, Maria, Anthony, Scott & Wilson. Nige & family. Blackpool🧡

Great personal experience. Listened to all our needs. Really polite and helpful team - Anthony & Wilson.
Would definitely recommend

David and Scott came today to install a suspended floor in my loft and were professional, friendly and considerate from the moment they knocked on the door. Caroline and the team that booked my job in were helpful and even called to offer an appointment sooner than first arranged. Cheers all at The Loft Doctor

The guys were lovely..thoughtful polite and tidy and just as importantly did a good job ..very pleased..would definately recommend.

The Loft Doctor team were very professional. The work they did for us was of a very high standard. They came on time were respectful and tidy. I would highly recommend this company.

Anthony was fantastic- respectful towards us and the property, kind and professional. He explained everything and carried out the work in the time agreed which looks fantastic, clearing everything up to a high standard. The Loft Doctor have been great with communication throughout. I would definitely recommend the company- make sure you ask for Anthony!

I'm so glad I went with this company. The job has been completed to a high standard.
Throughout, Marie andthe office staff were incredibly helpful and professional.
Anthony and his team who carried out the job were awesome. Not only were they proper grafters, they are very pleasant lads, respectful of my property, completed the job to a high standard and everything was cleaned up afterwards.
My only negative is that the initial survey was poor, meaning that when the team arrived to do the job, they couldn't. I had recommended this company to my neighbour who also had this issue. I felt really bad for the lads who were getting exasperated at the amount of times this happens.
In summary survey needs improving, everything else was flawless.
