The garage is local, friendly, the communications are excellent and prices very reasonable. The booking process was very quick and simple.

I booked my campervan at Lindleys Basford for a MOT and service. When dropping it off I mentioned 2 specific faults I wished to be looked at.
The MOT was failed due to worn brakes and at a cost of ÂŁ1500 these were replaced. When I got the van home however i realised that neither of the 2 issues Iâd reported had been resolved. This was worrying given that one of these was a front side light which wasnât working yet Lindleys passed it on MOT??
Worse though by far was the discovery of a large dent and multiple scratches which were caused (later confirmed by Lindleys) by an industrial bin blowing into the side of my van whilst on their premises. The van was returned and sent to another garage for the bodywork to be repaired. I was told that the decal needed to be removed but did not agree to this due to a great amount of effort and time involved in obtaining and fitting the decal myself last year. I was told that the bodywork could be done without removing the decal but that it would be lacquered over. I agreed to this. Today I have my van back and cannot express how sad I am to see the damage done to my decals.They are faded, bits are missing and rough edges have been left. I recognise this was not Lindleys work but nonetheless they are ultimately responsible for the fact that the visual state of the van is ruined and would never have happened if I hadnât take it to their business. Accidents happen but I have received no apology, no compensation for the inconvenience caused and I will never deal with this company again. If you have anything about your vehicle which is out of the ânormâ or if it is older, it is my view that Lindleys lack the level of care and attention you would want to be shown to you and your vehicle. There is nothing more I can do to put my van right, Iâve been left with a huge regret for taking it there in the first place. Lesson learned.

I recently visited a different garage (not Lindley's) for some recommended minor work on my car. Without even properly looking at the original issue, they went straight into telling me I needed a full clutch and flywheel replacement. It was terrifying. I was made to feel that if I didnât get it done immediately, Iâd be risking serious problems on the road. I only went in for a brake fluid change. Something didnât feel right, so I decided to get a second opinion and booked my service and MOT at the same time with Lindley's. Iâd used them years ago with an old car, and honestly, their booking system alone is brilliant - especially for someone who doesnât know much about cars and dreads being intimidated or taken advantage of (particularly as a woman). From start to finish, the whole experience at Lindley's was seamless, transparent, and massively reassuring. They serviced my car and clearly explained a few recommended bits of work - no pressure, no scare tactics. My car passed its MOT with just one advisory, and I was never once made to feel rushed into getting it done. In fact, I was reassured that some work I was ready to have done wasnât urgent and could be done when I felt ready financially......and NO, I didn't need a new clutch and Flywheel. That level of honesty and care is sadly rare - and it completely restored my faith in the motor industry. Communication throughout was excellent, and the girls on the front desk are an absolute credit to the Arnold branch - welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. To any girls, ladies, or anyone at all who dreads going to a garage and worries about being fleeced â go to Lindley's Arnold. They genuinely have your (and your carâs) best interests at heart. I will 100% be taking my car back there every single time from now on. Highly, highly recommended!!
